An inspirational film with characters that have the advantage of feeling raw and authentic. Eminem gives a surprisingly excellent performance and the film boasts one of the most satisfying endings to any movie I’ve ever seen. And possibly the best end credits song of all time. The rap battle scenes are brilliantly written and keep you on your toes. If you thought this would be an ego project for Eminem with no substance (like I did) give it a chance and you’ll probably be pleasantly surprised. It’s also really funny. Just thought I’d throw that in there. And no, I didn’t give this an 8 because the movie is called 8 mile.

It’s not that **** bad. Get a grip. If you think this movie is anything below a 5 you watched a different movie. There is that one pointless side plot but other than that, this movie takes its characters in interesting new directions and continues to boast an incredibly talented cast.

An annoying, nonsensical waste of time. I’ve heard that this was supposed to be a “horror comedy” but the film falls completely flat in both genres. When your story doesn’t make any sense and is never explained it makes it a little bit difficult to get invested in it. The death scenes also didn’t make any sense to me. It seems the laws of physics, gravity and so on aren’t present in this movie so I’m constantly left scratching my head whenever someone dies. I felt no investment in the main lead and, while not a bad performance, I really didn’t care about his character. This film is an over the top, cartoony, unrealistic mess. And I hated it. But apparently I’m in the minority with that opinion.

This is a damn good horror movie. The losers club characters as well as actors all did a fantastic job(surprising for kid actors), Bill Skarsgard is wonderfully disturbing as pennywise, the sense of friendship among the kids is very well done and well written and it absolutely takes advantage of the R rating. IT is an extremely fun and frightening movie that will definitely scare younger people. And some older ones too. Seriously some of the imagery in this movie still gives me goosebumps.

Funny, well animated and full of great and memorable songs, this movie is, despite its raunch, still a lot of fun and worth a watch. Although it's not for everyone, most will enjoy it.

This remake or reboot or re-imagining or re-adaptation or whatever the hell you want to call it is one of the better remakes I've seen. Strong performances, a satisfying prom scene and a story that benefits from being set in modern day all lead to a fun and well made remake.
