Just to give you some background - I have not walked out of a movie in probably 7 or 8 years, and I think Chris Rock is probably the greatest stand up comedian of all time. That being said, this is one of the most god awful movies I have ever seen and I did in fact walk out of the movie after about 1 hour 30min or so, I just couldn't stay any longer. The fact that this movie got great reviews once again shows how unbelievably low our standards for a good comedic movie have become. I have to say first and foremost, the movie is shockingly unfunny. Seriously, I think I laughed once or twice. There's a storyline involving a gay character that I found to be done in extremely poor taste as well. Not only was it offensive, but it was really just not funny at all and pretty gross (not because of the gay activity, but because it was just plainly gross for no other reason than to be gross). If you're gonna go for low brow dumb humor at least make sure people laugh. The story is incredibly contrived, Chris Rock's acting has always kinda ****, and Rosario Dawson really isn't a very strong actress, she never has been and she mainly plays the same character in every thing she does. The storyline gets dumber and dumber and less funny and less funny, and eventually downright boring and painstakingly pedestrian. Please, for the love of god people, we should demand more out of the comedic geniuses of this world, this was NOT a decent movie, not even remotely close!

This movie was an absolute masterpiece. The emotional content in this movie is astounding, I was completely blown away by the acting, story and visuals. The themes and messages are strong, this is not an action/sci-fi movie made for morons, it's sophisticated and intelligent. If you're a fan of dumb movies like Transformers this is not the movie for you. Truly one of the best sci-fi movies ever made.

I usually hate dumb monster or superhero movies, but I thought this movie was very well done. It was probably too suspenseful for the average dumb movie goer who wants instant gratification. I though this movie was without a doubt modeled after JAWS, which is quite possibly the greatest monster/horror movie of all time. Yes, the human drama leaves something to be desired, but I I really liked the back story. The best part of the movie was an incredibly satisfying, epic finale. Best monster movie in a long long time.

I'm in shock that this movie is getting such good reviews. I was a fan of the first one, and I love all the actors involved. This movie really wasn't that funny. So many of the scenes fall flat and so many of the jokes are stale. I was surprised by how boring this movie actually was. There are sections of the movie that drag on for so long, I couldn't wait to get the hell out of the theater. I think our standards for comedies have absolutely plummeted in the past 3-4 years. The jokes have no substance, they're cheap and stupid. What's actually funny about the movie is that it really has a strong message regarding the history of media in our country and how things have changed. Unfortunately, it seemed pretty clear to me that the message of the movie was going way over the heads of many of the morons in the theater I saw it in. I chucked once or twice, which is just unacceptable, this movie ****.

I've been a huge Coen Brothers fan for a long time, my favorites being Fargo and A Serious Man. I think this might be their best film yet. The writing is just incredible, the songs, the music, the acting, the cinematography all flawless. No one makes movies like them, so unique and inspiring, heartbreaking and honest. I was blown away by Oscar Isaac, his performance will garner plenty of awards. This movie is a masterpiece.

This was one of the most overrated movies I've ever watched. I was excited to watch it based on the reviews and accolades, and I really enjoyed Mystic River (the novel by Dennis Lehane), but I thought Gone Baby Gone was absolutely horrendous and it blows my mind that people actually think the plot was realistic or plausible in any way. Are you people crazy? The captain and 2 cops concoct a plan to kidnap a woman's daughter to give her a better life? In what world can you just kidnap a girl and have her go to school and live the rest of her life and never be caught? If they cared so much about the little girl, enough to go through with this absolutely ridiculous plan, why not just come by the house and babysit once in awhile? Contribute financially? Get her some piano lessons? Wait a few years and see if the mom improves? Let history take it's course? There are plenty of people who grow up in horrible neighborhoods with horrible parents and still manage to do OK in life, are we supposed to kidnap all these kids and have them live with Morgan Freeman? Could they come up with SOMETHING besides kidnapping the girl??? And what are the chances this girl WANTS to be kidnapped and ends up being so unbelievably happy living a new life with some stranger she's never met? Seriously? Is this a joke????? How did this movie not get torn apart by every single critic in the world? Can someone please tell me I'm not crazy in thinking this is one of the dumbest movies ever made? Oh, I also forgot to mention that the acting was completely over the top. Casey Affleck was incredibly dull as well. There were some decent moments from Ed Harris, other than that the acting was mediocre at best.
