An Ok-ish game you won't see happen today or in the future because it will be considered "offensive." It doesn't make it the best game tho. The story is ridiculously bad and childish. None of the characters are likeable. Sean, the protagonist, is tough to like or care about. The female characters are either horny cats or annoying whiners. The other male characters have no charisma and you won't remember any of them after they are off-screen. The ending tried to be so cinematic and dramatic, and still disappointing and anti-climatic. The mechanics are decent overall and the game has a lot of features: Parkour, car driving, car racing, shooting, covering, stealth, destroying outposts and mini games here and there. None of them are of mastery level but good enough to keep players busy.

Resident Evil 4 (2005)7
Apr 30, 2026
The debate whether the original or remake game is better, especially Crowbcat's "Soul vs. Soulless" video made me play and finish the game after I left it unfinished when I bought it over 20 years ago, which I agree to his videos showing the lack of passion and details in the remake (or demake). Finally beating it, I can say it's a game with creative mechanics for its time with a somewhat compelling story and c-movie execution. While the game is better than the remake and most AAA games today (2026), it has its own issues: The controls can be a bit clunky with heavy mouse control for PC, and being unable to move sideways was very annoying at times especially when you need to shift to avoid enemies or have better aim. It's like you are driving a car and have to reverse back to make Leon face where you want him to be. The game at times is basically busy work; it keeps throwing enemies at you just so you take more time playing and end up with less bullets. Regenerators are cool the first 3-4 times you face them, then they become a chore. QTEs are overused a lot in the game. QTEs should be treated like salt in games; they add flavor but doing it too much gets frustrating, and it's especially infuriating at the end of the mine cart's section when missing the 1-second QTE will kill you after playing for 10 minutes. Not fun at all. The story is explained not by interactions between the characters but rather from memos. I was very disappointed at the severely short cutscenes not showing anything interesting except some couple cool moves, compared to older instalments where characters have much more dialog, while in this game everyone is acting like an edgy highschooler. I dare to say the remake fixed this a bit, or at least made it more mature. The way you switch weapons is very annoying; every time you have to open the inventory dialog which covers the whole screen, move the cursor to the weapon and press "Equip," while this was the case for older instalments, we had a far better weapon switch in games came before RE4 like GTA3 and Counter-Strike. Since the game switched to a shooter they should have built a better inventory system. The graphics even for its time was not the best. The shadows were poorly done if exist at all. We're talking the same year Half-life 2, Far cry and even The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay had far superior graphics for their time. All-in-all it's a great game for its time and a good one today, but nowhere near the best, and I agree the franchise went downhill from this one.

Agatha Christie - Murder on the Orient Express5
Apr 20, 2026
A game could be good if it was done 20 years ago:
- For a detective game, the characters and their faces look horrible with severe lack of facial expressions.
- Voice over is between bad and decent.
- The game doesn't bother to show how the murder was done except for a slide show which also doesn't include all who contributed to it. Severe laziness and cheapness.
- Some puzzles are smart and fun, but many are just to stretch playtime.
- The music is bland. Maybe one is decent.
- The gameplay: The female detective's arc is actually not bad. However, the train's location will drive you crazy when you have to go back and forth like 60 times just to have 2-3 line conversations between the characters. The protagonist walks so slow and the "run" mode is like 2% faster than walking for the male detective.
- Surprisingly, there is no woke agendas, which is refreshing. Overall, it's a nice time to kill if you get the game for free like me, but for an Agatha Christie company which keeps printing money using books written decades ago it's shameful to have such cheap product.

Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical4
Apr 8, 2026
The game has an interesting story: Greek gods live in modern day and when they die, another human can "inherit" their memories and powers becoming the new god (or muse), and this is what happened to the protagonist, who was accused of killing the greek god who she inherited her powers from and has to prove her innocence within one week.
The protagonist's powers as a muse is to make people talk in a musical way, which is the core of the game. So what are the problems?
- The musicals are meh, none of them are captivating, neither the lyrics nor the music. You won't even care to listen to them after the game is finished.
- "Millennial writing" as the story can be a mess and the ending is cheap and very predictable.
- For an artistic game, the art is very average and 95% of it are STILL IMAGES. "The wolf among us" had far better art style and fully animated.
- They did Aphrodite bad (because diversity) and who did they choose to be her "replacement" in case she dies? A disabled fat ethnic woman. Yes, it's this humiliating.
- The ending was so lazy made, they didn't bother to do any animation or visually show us what happened to the greek gods at the end. Just a conversation explaining what happened, as if the game was done in a rush and had to finish it because they were out of budget.
- The cringy "stolen land" statement in the credits. I don't mind woke games if they're at least good. This one isn't at all and was only focusing on ticking boxes as how today's shows and games. Just read a summary of the game or watch a gameplay video if you are so interested.

Tekken 83
Sep 11, 2025
My only Tekken game I played was Tekken 3. That game was epic back then with its diverse characters and cutscenes which were revolutionary back then and even today some are outstanding. So, I decided to try Tekken 8, 25 years after.. I don't know what is this, the story? So corny. The cutscenes? There is no bit of chemistry between the characters and they don't even invest anything on them. I know many of the fighters and still don't know what the hell is going on and why each character took a side. I pity new players because there is nothing redeeming here and the game feels like a big DLC rather than a new entry. What happened to this game all these years??

Long Gone Days5
Apr 14, 2025
The art is beautiful and it has a nice premise. The problem? The story shows it lacks a proper ending and it was made to just finish the game. Also, the "good" ending is locked between two side quests, so you may play for 15 hours only to get the bad ending because of it. This is bad and stupid.

Assassin's Creed5
Feb 4, 2025
The game was revolutionary back in 2008 when Ubisoft was a real game studio and not a shell of itself like today. The cities are phenomenal and as someone who was born in Damascus, it was nice to see the old city in its beauty before the "modern" era. The parkour is still somewhat fun and for its time it was mind-blowing. The game visuals still hold on except the characters who could have a 2k/4k texture remaster. However, the game's missions are very terrible; there is zero personality and I don't understand what makes Al-Tair special. For a game that is supposed to be about an assassin, the game forces you to sword-fight your targets' guards. You can't kill them from afar, and the game lacks any interiors except Al-Muallem's mansion, so all your assassinations are outdoors. The stealth is terrible and the sword fights are abysmal. The game doesn't introduce you to the targets so if feels like killing random people because "they are evil." The game feels it was rushed and most of the time was spent on the parkour mechanics but very little on level design.
Overall, the game was an introduction to a new series that keeps going and might be the last saving grace for Ubisoft, but the game itself is not fun.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth5
Jun 18, 2024
I gave the first game a 7 despite being long awaited and was magnificent to see our beloved game and characters in 3D with high quality graphics. This one? I am generous to give it 5.
The positives are the open world map which shows the power of Unreal Engine and what could be done with it, the side quests are somewhat more polished and has some character compared to the dreadful ones in the first game, but not that good either, and the combat is somewhat fun. Yuffie was a cool and fun character to both play and watch, and the backstory of the characters is more fleshed with flashbacks about their past.
However, the game didn't make me very attached to either the story or the same passion to play. This can be expected as this game comes in the middle where you are already being introduced to the main characters and the whole story and nothing to really add but a series of fights which is none is memorable.
The game felt like an anime. They dropped the ball on the "dark" aspects with a world map which is too bright and characters who are too cheerful, compared to the original game. While the "Remake" game was cheesy, but it was entertaining at times. "Rebirth" was just cringe. Hojo's constant dumb maniac laughs, Rufus's edgy character and the very cringy encounter with the party at an arena (really?) and Shinra's leaders' eccentric behavior was too much embarrassing at times. If it wasn't for the fanbase of FF7 and Tifa's precious assets, this game would be treated like the rest of lastest FF games, totally forgettable.
Oh and the whispers, asinine.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth6
Apr 29, 2024
Story-wise, while Kazuma has something to like, he's a character too weak to fill Kiryu's shoes. What the writers don't understand is, Yakuza games until Like a Dragon had strong characters, both villains and companions. They are ruthless Yakuza muscles who have deep characters and strong motives to what they do. In Like a Dragon? We have a homeless nurse, a retired cop and a soapie hostess as companions, and the Korean folks who come later in first LAD game look like k-pop idols than scary mafia. Most people don't even remember the story of it either because it was simply weak. The story in this new game tries to add as many plot twists it becomes silly, let alone predictable at this point. Kazuma's love affair is very obnoxious and awkward, and it is clear there is no chemistry or visible attraction, heck, he has more sexual tension with Chitose. it was a fresh take to move to Hawaii, sadly, it doesn't add up much to the story. If it was Okinawa or any similar cities in Japan it would make more sense. The "language barrier" that only existed in the beginning of the game and it was miraculously gone later only weakens the story more. Nonetheless, the map is big and buzzling as the franchise's other maps and there's a lot to do, so you'll get busy for hours. Graphics start to show age, and in some camera shots characters look awful.

Sakura Wars6
Dec 23, 2022
This is my first Sakura Wars game, with no prior knowledge of the series. I added the game to my wishlist for 2 years until I finally bought it for $25. What I loved most is the Anime 3D style of the game. The models are very well-designed and the animation is good for a PS4 game. Every scene is beautifully made and well-crafted. Sadly, it looks like all the budget went into the design as I found the rest of the game is very limited. The game suffers a clear identity crisis; is it a dating sim? a life sim? An action/adventure game? A mech battle game? Unfortunately, it tries to be all these and failed at each one badly. The game ended up a 3D animated visual novel with decent and attractive characters. The game introduces you to theater, which your division should manage. Yet, you have no control whatsoever. The fight levels are lazily done and they give no challenge. The bosses are more annoying than challenging and the levels are a rehash of same assets and monsters it becomes boring and you end up mashing the buttons to move on. Unless you use a character who can hit from far like Claris and Anastasia, fighting air enemies drove me insane with the terrible camera and controls. Interacting with the girls can be fun sometimes but as long as you choose the middle choice you're safe and at the end all girls will like you equally and you can choose which you want to be with in the finale. Sadly, you can't date Sumire, the big boss, which was a let down. Azumi looks too young it's creepy to add as an option. The Koi-Koi game can be fun at times but I sense they cheat and get better cards than you.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition0
Nov 18, 2021
Paid 59.99 Euros to download the trilogy only to be blocked from playing it because of "unplanned maintenance" which took more than 24 hours to be available again. Meanwhile, a cracked version was available online. Then, the game is a poor port with not only the same bugs 20 years ago but also adding new ones with horrible textures, terrible collision physics and horrendous character redesign. What is more enraging, the original games were pulled from stores and Rockstar and T2 or suing modders and shutting down any sites dedicated to keeping the saga alive and updated. Boycott!

Kingdom Hearts HD I.5 + II.5 Remix2
Apr 5, 2021
I heard a lot about Kingdom Hearts and I never played it before. When it was released on PC I thought it's a great chance to try it. First, it's obvious that the game was released for kids up to 12 years old when you find out Square Enix characters are all teens. This made me scratch my head wondering why fanboys were so excited for a third entry which came out 15 years after the second one. This means fans should be in their mid 20s or even 30s. Weird. Now to the game. The controls are terrible and unresponsive. Don't even try to use the keyboard and mouse. Even on gamepad it's infuriating especially when in a combat. The camera is very bad focusing too close on the protagonist not allowing a wide field of view. This will force you to keep using the L pad to look around to know your path. It proved horrible when you have to jump over tree tops and whatnot, I played 90 minutes of the game and what does it start with? Fetch quests: Bring me coconuts. Bring me mushrooms. Bring me logs. How fun. This game logic used to work 20 years ago along with games like Shenmue, but not today. This game didn't age well.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon5
Mar 6, 2021
This Yakuza game is a disappointment. I was open to new characters in the franchise since Kiryu became old and it's time for new blood. However, aside from Ichiban who's okay, the other characters are one-dimensional and have no likeable personality. I didn't care about any of them. The female character is very weak it ends up a punch bag rather than helpful in fights. The turn-based fighting system can be a change for the first few hours in the game, then it gets so boring I kept auto-combat on all the time (thanks for whoever programmed it) unless the characters screw up I take control again. What makes me give up is the grinding. Previous Yakuza games didn't need this cheap way to make the game "last longer" while you need to go through hundreds of fights to farm exp points and level up the characters. What I usually immerse in is the story. I don't want to spend 20+ hours to grind only to be able to defeat a boss. This is a bad practice I don't know how gamers today accept this. RPG? Sure, but it doesn't have to be this grindy. This is not Destiny or some MMO game. I even didn't like the story much and it felt weak. Reading that it has many unreasonable twists, it sounds it's not worth it investing into the story either.

Final Fantasy VII Remake7
Oct 26, 2020
I will focus on the negatives here because I don't want to rehash the same what others mentioned: The visuals are beautiful. The music is outstanding and the dialogue is (in most times) entertaining and fun. Overall, the game is entertaining and it's great to see the characters who we loved to show again in today's technology. What made FF7 great is the rich story and characters. Unfortunately, the "remake" did not live up to the same level. The remake could have stuck to the original story and be one of the greatest modern hits, but they decided to manipulate the story to be 100+ hours longer in order to create several installments. The story was dumbed down the dark and nihilistic side. The characters are too cheerful considering how their situations are. The people in the slums look too "clean" as they are your usual Starbucks customers rather than what supposed to be laborers who are suffering from bad living conditions living under a huge metal plate covering the sky and inside huts with no lights and rats running everywhere. Some parts of the cutscenes and dialogs are cringy, like Berret's overreacting over how he cares about Marlene and the anime-like behavior of the girls namely Aerith, Jessie and even Tifa. The side quests are **** What made FF7 stands above all the other RPGs is putting the player into the action rather than wasting time on fetch quests and "bring me my cats" **** to fill up playtime. None of the sidequests were interesting. They could have invested richer dialouges and side stories to add more interesting characters but they dropped the ball hard time. There are a lot of levels with 1-2 hours of corridors and one-way routes that are too long they become boring and you just want to finish them ASAP to move on. The new characters are all cringy and annoying you wish you can hit them hard in the face, especially Johnny who isn't annoying in a funny way. Finally, the "ghost" thing was a very bad diversion from the original story. As I said before, because the original story is grim and dark, they want to fix it (it's not broken in the first place) by changing the story to a fairytale. I won't proceed more so my review don't spoil it, but the story is going to be a Disney-like franchise where people are happy thereafter. The game is ranked as "T" for teens, a game which 80% of its fans are now in their mid 30s and older. The game took too long to be released, and not even the full game too. You can see they used most of FFXV and KH's engine and mechanics so it looks like the game wasn't in production until far later when they reused the existing stack, which is not necessarily a bad thing.

Paying $60 for a game content blocked by grinding or pay walls is unacceptable. Cutting off half of most wanted characters to be later sold as DLCs is unacceptable. Releasing a heavily-bugged game just because you can patch it in 6 months is unacceptable. Not going into the political agenda we non-Americans have to swallow with every franchise now.

TL;DR Go play Fallout: New Vegas instead. If you already played it, play it again. I would forgive this big pile of mess for a solid single-player campaign with NPCs and a usual dark story, but stuck to a buggy as hell game with multi-player that adds nothing and voice records of boring missions is too much to forgive. One of the missions was to collect bottles, like I would do that IRL for free and not for 60$. Fallout is dead.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt7
Nov 12, 2018
Let me first say, I spent 100 hours on The Witcher 3 and I still didn't finish the main plot, not started with the DLCs yet, so while I still have much play hours to go, I think my past hours allows me to review the game. The environment is beautful to being with. It is the best game to show the medieval ages which is gloomy, dangerous, stink everywhere and peasants are struggling hard to survive the consequences of wars, unlike other medieval RPG games which shows you people dress well, streets are clean and buildings are like built yesterday. Every city, town and village shows a bit of unique looks, while NPCs will eventually repeat the same one-liners and sentences which can be disappointing. Much side quests to indulge with, and they're all written well, not those burdensome fetch quests you find in Skyrim often. Cutscenes are likable and characters are fun when they talk and argue. The combat system is very basic. It's like designed for people who are playing RPG for the first time. There are not much moves to do which makes the combat boring. The signs are fun to use for some hours until they feel repetitive. Leveling is really bad in this game. You don't feel you have "leveled up" like other RPG games. They stealthly improve your attack and defense points without knowing it. You don't know what was exactly improved. In my 100 hours, I didn't have to use spells because I simply didn't need them. Oils, not really. Some oils sometimes are very hard to make because some ingredient is hard to find and I won't waste hours to find it and better try my chance without it. The inventory and quest UIs are horrendous. Looking for a quest? Go through 3-4 tabs with 50+ rows each. Worst is, they're not sorted by name, level or anything. Inventory can be messy and everything is in one place. While they break into food, weapons and armor, etc, but try looking for a particular item in the spells inventory, and you'll be lost among other 150+ items. What's more disappointing is, it's not worthy to work hard to get that fine sword or armor, because you'll simply find better 1-2 levels later. I worked for 3 hours on a side quest to build me an armor, just to replace it with a better armor 2 HOURS LATER. Killing monsters while exploring is useless. Who in the world thought that players shouldn't be given experience points for slaying monsters or bandits?? The landscape while huge, it's "too real" it gets boring to explore. The question marks thrown all over the map is just either a monster nest, a treasure guarded by some monster, or a bandit camp. That's it. There is no dungeons to discover or landmarks to explore. The music is astonishing and makes a great background. Currently, I'm playing it to finish it rather than enjoying it. Having a game which the first hour is the same as 100th hour is really boring. Oh, and the first 10 hours of the game? The most boring I had. I had to stop playing the game twice until a friend convinced me to play it and pass the tedious first hours to get to the meat, which I really enjoyed later, but now it's becoming boring again, maybe until I start the DLCs.

I tried so hard playing this game and get moved by the story, but shame, I couldn't. It's very slow-paced with poor dialogues and boring story drive that I give up playing too soon from finishing it. I am an RPG fan. I played many RPG games so I can judge an RPG game very well. When playing a role-playing game, I live it like I'm the protagonist. Doesn't matter if he/she is a silent or interactive one. What I care is the story-drive and pace of the game. In Xenogears, I felt lost and I couldn't even get involved in the story playing. XenoGears fans find it a godly game. I find it a Transformers movie game without Micheal Bay's explosions.

The game is Ok for Tex Murphy's fans who's I am one of them. But frankly, the story is cheesy and forgettable, and the writers were too lazy polishing it nicely, as if they began writing about the Tesla effect without full knowledge about the real experiment or even having a decent ending. I really can't explain the story to anyone asking me about the game because simply it's so ridiculous. I am happy for Tex Murphy to be back, but hopefully the next series (if there is one) will have a solid story structure. I didn't focus on gameplay here because I would forgive clunky controls for a good story.
