Fortnite2

PUBG brought us an intense massive deathmatch battle royale experience where patience and exploration rewards your efforts. Using the same game engine, Epic made Fortnite... an easier, dumbed down version of the same game and released it for free. I can appreciate the people who enjoy it. I do not not. If I never see another emote or new skin in a video game I wouldn't exactly be sad. I'm giving this game a low score. I'm sorry folks. I just do not enjoy it.

Arma 310

The base game alone is one of the most impressive military style games I've ever played. The first time that I played Arma Wasteland (A massive multiplayer deathmatch sandbox) I was completely impressed with the tactics and long term strategy that was required to pull of a victory. In Arma you can't just run through a field. You have to move along the tree lines and stay near cover. Someone with a good sniper rifle can put you down at 1000 meters if you sit still too long. Players can be tactical and cunning. I've seen teams place ghillie suit snipers all across a mountainside in a tree line, while a single player baits other players into moving around a town and chasing him. Just so much to do. You can find endless amounts of content on workshop as well. Anything from maps to mods to missions.

Grand Theft Auto V10

The map is wonderful. The graphics are gorgeous. The amount of things you can do are exceptionally long. The online mode is fun. I set up my own skybox apartment over the city. I remade a version of an old Jeep I once owned when I was younger. I basically made myself in the game. Met a lot of friends. Overall... just a fun experience. Rockstar has out done itself.

Tom Clancy's The Division5

When I first began playing this game, I was somewhat impressed with the overall look and feel. The graphics are sound in this game are outstanding. The cities and environments you encounter are all far above average compared to a lot of games that I've played. However... it didn't take me long to realize that I didn't have much to play. The game was too much **** for me. Way too much replaying the same stuff over. 40 hours into the game, it felt like I hadn't accomplished anything and I didn't feel like grinding any futher. It just wasn't fun after a while. I'm rating this game the way I am, because of the price I paid for it. I just didn't get the value out of this game that I had hoped I would. I quickly lost interest in it.

I put probably 300 hours into this game on PS3 and was one of the first people to play it. I bought this game and played on launch day a long time ago. I'm giving this game a thumbs up for a lot of reasons. I paid $60 for this game when it came out. It went free to play later on... but I never got mad about the fact that I paid $60 for this game. The character customization options are great. I love the way both Metropolis and Gotham looks. The game holds up graphically today although it came out almost eight years ago. You can download and play this for free. The first 30 levels give you plenty of missions to play. The world is open. You can potentially fight other players in PVP circumstances. Game is great. It's fun doing missions and seeing Batman or Superman or whoever. I once created a Green Lantern character of my own. I absolutely give this a thumbs up! With the game being free to play, you can get plenty of entertainment out of it without having to pay a penny. I sat that as a guy who paid $60 for it on launch. It's worth your time. It was worth mine.

While I can appreciate the general overall idea of what this game does... I'm just not on board with how it's executed. The game is very repetitive. It's one of the most noticeable things about the game. Basically every match plays out the same way. Players sneak around, run generators and attempt to escape a murderer. There are times when I think the game has potential. I bought three DLC's with this game. I wanted to play as Freddy, Leatherface and Michael Myers. I realized that I had already spent $40 on this game. I began looking at all the content. It's $120 worth of content. Basically... there are cosmetic and animation differences between the DLC"s and that's basically it. The game does not change. It's the same game. Sure you go into different environments but you do not do anything different. Regardless of the DLC. The game seems fun at first but wears out fast. There is an upgrade system to unlock things... but it's just not enough for me.

Friday the 13th: The Game9

I consider this game one of the best games of 2017, by far. The game can be played various ways depending on which counselor you have and playing as Jason. I actually enjoy the team work of playing as a Counselor. You get a good variety of maps and styles, different Jasons with different abilities and perks and a bunch of camp counselors with different perks and abilities. You can play this game any way you want to. The game can be frustrating. Sometimes luck just is not on your side. I once spawned in a new game and within what seemed like a few seconds Jason was at my location. I've also escaped several times in various ways. You can call the cops and run to them when they arrive, you can fix up a car and drive away, you can take a boat out of there or even kill Jason. Killing Jason is no joke. Very difficult and it should be. At the end of the day, this is a fun horror game that has legit replay value. There is no doubt I will be playing this game years from now. It's a fun game to pull out in October when Halloween is coming.

Mad Max10
May 31, 2019
After having this game for a week, I'm ready to write a more thorough review. Mad Max the video game is better than any of the movies, and I LOVE the movies. The game is open world and feels and runs like a crazed Mad Max version of Grand Theft Auto. You can drive around and raise hell, customize your car, blow things up, shoot at people while you drive. The fighting system in this game reminds me of the Batman Arkham games and works very well in this world. The story telling is pretty good, the voice acting is good. Graphics are amazing.

DayZ4

I played the mod for Arma 2. First purchased the standalone in 2014 to help the development. I find myself disappointed in the overall game that I got. I'm writing this review because they are charging $44.99 now for the game and I do not feel it is worth that much money. They prioritized beards over working grenades in game on launch day. The zombies are still laggy. The overall feel of the game reminds me of 2012. It's just not that year anymore. The movement is still clunky. Jumping is completely ridiculous. Vehicles are not operating properly. The base building system is a mess. The only redeeming thing about DayZ in 2019... the modding community. They added workshop so the modding community is finishing the game for BI. I suppose that is a fitting ending, since the modding community gave us DayZ in the first place. Unfortunately, I can't give a base game credit for the hard work the modders are doing, so I'm giving this a 4 out of 10.

OVERKILL's The Walking Dead10
May 31, 2019
I had no idea what to expect. The game surprised me. The game is difficult but in a good way. The difficulty made me really think about how I approached situations in game. Some trial and error happened for sure. However... if you dig deep into the game you find a level of complexity that might surprise you. There are a ton of things to do. Not just the 13 available missions, but as you play the game you can meet and help people and recruit them to join your camp. There is a camp management system where you can send people on runs. The survivors you recruit can be leveled up. Some become more valuable members of your group than others. The co-op aspects to this game are great if you can play with a team of four people who understand their roles. The tank must play like a tank. Same for Scout, etc. I was lucky enough to play through the game with a really good group of guys who were good at what they were doing. We coordinated every single move we made. It created a level of intensity to playing that's not easy to achieve against AI threats. The story is average to me. This game is more about leveling up your characters, your AI surivors, and your camp. You can also farm for rare weapons and attachments by doing missions and finding loot crates. The zombies in this game are the best zombies I've ever encountered in any game, period. I'm a DayZ early access guy and I've played basically every major zombie game out there. Some of my personal favorite recent zombie games are World War Z, State of Decay, 7 Days To Die, Left For Dead 2, Breaking Point Mod (Arma 3) and the old H1z1. This game has more impressive zombie behavior than anything I've ever seen. The zombies react to sound and movement. Just like in the TV show... the players can trick and distract the zombies by making sound or moving them in a direction. This is a really overlooked, fun element to this game. The more noise you make... the more zombies that come. I've seen gigantic hoards in this game. Extreme moments. Explosions that took down a massive hoard. Overall... I completely enjoyed this game. I had moments of frustration during the learning curve, but this is one of the best, most rewarding co-op games that I've ever played with friends. Just excellent!
