Destiny: Rise of Iron2
Sep 29, 2016
I can't help but think of a single question when it comes to Rise of Iron, "How can this be classed as an expansion?" A yearly expansion should offer the players a large range of new content, multiple new areas, a lot of new quests, and a lot of new features. What does bungies yearly expansion offer? 1 new area,, 1 new story consisting of 4 new "missions", 1 new strike and a new raid. Firstly, taking a pre-existing area (cosmodrone), turning it white and building a little side house does not make good content for an expansion area. This is lazy development at it's finest. The game is based in the solar system. Why not release Jupiter as a planet? or Neptune? Stick to the theme and multiple new areas can be created and be captivating as it first was when released. The main story quest is once again lazy game development that offers very little in the story progression. It's the same formula as every other mission except no real challenge is offered and it literally only used to introduce the new enemy race which is literally just a reskin of the fallen that became extremely dull after the first encounter. Granted, the taken enemies introduced in The Taken King were reskins but at least we got all the races and not just one. The new strike is, once again, very lazy development. a very small strike that involves destrying a number of "nodes". Really nothing special. The end boss of the strike is just a poor excuse for a boss battle. There is nothing captivating about having to kill one boss while being chased by another that you can't harm. Couldn't think of any real tactical ideas for a boss fight here Bungie? The new strike list is, you guessed it, more lazy development. Taking existing strikes, amping up the difficulty and throwing them in a rotation with the new strike is NOT NEW CONTENT. It just brings back the feeling of what ultimately makes destiny a boring game. The grind to get new gear, which in itself has been made harder to obtain. The hype surrounding the new crucible mode is just a huge disappointment. For a single game mode and a single new map, we are given "SUPREMACY". It's kill confirmed that only appeals to the rushers With the new map almost being a clone of a pre-existing map with a new obstacle thrown in here and there and change the colour pallet. Can't really comment on the raid. Finding a time slot to get six people free and online at the same time is not possible for myself and my friends. I can only think that Bungies excuse for releasing this excuse of an expansion is that they have committed all their development teams to work on the new game for next year. Still no excuse though. The only saving grace for this game is that they didn't slap a full price tag on it. Still, £25 is ridiculous enough. They brought the Gjallahorn back though so I guess that's something right? Maybe if enough uproar is created by the community they can give everyone refunds on this joke of content.

NHL 171
Sep 29, 2016
There is literally nothing positive that can be said about this new installation. The puck detection is awful making a simple task such as passing a nightmare and near impossible most of the time, hit collision is worse than it was in 15, gameplay feels extremely sluggish and referee calls are extremely premature and mostly confusing (icing, offsides, penalties etc). Body checks might as well not even exist as the player being hit can get back up and retrieve the puck before the attacking player can even work his way around the floored player, and that's in the 1 out of 10 times that the body check actually connects. Goaltenders seems to work on the two major ends of the scale with no in between. Either they are literally brick walls that allows nothing past them or they will stand there and let a 1mph shot go between their legs. It's ridiculous. Going back on my opening statement, the addition of draft champions and adding a single player, offline variation is a nice touch. You would have thought that after so many installations of the NHL series, EA would be able to put out a half decent game. I think it's about time to either abandon the NHL franchise or revert back to a time when the game was actually good (NHL 11 being the last installation I can think of). Really it comes down to a simple saying. Another year, same old s**t.

Overwatch4
Jul 18, 2016
So it seems that the era of fully priced, online multiplayer only games are among us. Overwatch is another example of an extremely over hyped game that just does not deliver. What do we get for this fully priced game, a handful of characters, badly designed maps, extremely unbalanced gameplay and 3 GAME MODES (4 if you want to include the hybrid). The cost of the game is not justified in any way with this game. To beat a dead horse, Team Fortress 2 delivers exactly the same but for free (minus the stupid character special abilities). So why is this game so popular? E-SPORTS... f**king e-sports. Get a bunch of youtubers and twitchers to demonstrate a game of this manor and their audiences go mental. I guess that's the way gaming has become now though right? developers don't have to put any effort to create a decent game anymore cause the current generation of gaming doesn't care. Blizzard could have released this game with 5 characters, 3 maps and 1 game mode and it would still be a top seller simple because of the way modern gaming has become. For me, the game grew stale after about an hour or so. It was fun to play as a healer for a few games, then experimented with the other classes. After you try each character once, what else is there? Although the game boasts a 21 character library, your lucky if you see half of them in a good session. You are always playing against the same, overpowered characters again and again, making gameplay extremely frustrating. If blizzard stick to their word and release more content (a la Destiny), the game might become half decent and worth playing ..... for another hour until it becomes stale again. Ultimately, the game is not good. It is a poor attempt at a revival for a game style that only appeals to an extremely small crowd, and those who don't care about financial expenses.

Star Wars Battlefront5
Nov 20, 2015
Let's get straight to it. Is this game fun? Yes. Is this game good? Not so much. Star Wars Battlefront really is a masterpiece of graphical art and which certainly delivers an authentic Star Wars experience. Playing as Luke Skywalker or Darth Vader is certainly great fun,.. for about 2 games. After which, the "hero" gimmick runs stale. It is a great hype that does work well but offers nothing special in terms of replay value. Once you kill 3 or 4 generic players / AI then the opposing hero, you've experience all there is to offer by this system. It appears that it's Boba Fett and Han Solo that get the hero limlight due to long range combat and effectively, drawing out players "camping" instincts. The highlight of this game for me is the Fighter Squadron game type. Taking to the skies in an A-wing fighter or a Tai-fighter is the most appealing part and every experience is different. To be honest, the only reason I like this is because it reminds me of past game just as Star Fox. Same combat system really. Other game types are simply a very poor play on other game type from shooters of the past decade. Droid Run is simply a domination style game mode where the rules are not exactly clear other than "3 droids, capture them". Cargo is an extremely poor play on the classic capture the flag and Drop Zone is an even worse play on king of the hill. Story mode simply does not exist and single player / co-op might as well not exist. The missions, which are usually highlighted as single player story, is a team deathmatch / kill confirmed game type against the AI, or against a friend if you can stay awake long enough. AI battles range in difficulty and realistically, you can have no affect to the enemy score so the hardest difficulty isn't worth the effort unless you aim for achievements. They offer no fun or gameplay value at all. The only really single players are the tutorial modes which give set tasks to learn about the games mechanics. But a total of 5 solo (or co-op) missions at 3 - 6 minutes is not enough. Story wise, the game is based off of 3 movies and the fact they couldn't make a story (or even more objective based missions) is just lazy development. Missions like an all out space war where the objective is to take down the Death Star, rescuing Princess Leia from inside the Death Star or an assault on star destroyers would have added quite a lot of value to this game. Admittedly, they have done some things well such as the AT-AT assault on the rebel hideout on Hoth which accurately portrays the scene from Episode 5. But this is multiplayer only which kills it for me. Sticking on this area, why is there an AT-AT assault on Endor, Sullust and Tatooine? Endor only had AT-ST assault, Tatooine only had a stormtrooper invasion and Sullust wasn't even in the original trilogy other than a few verbal mentions. Again, lazy devlopment. Survival isn't really worth a mention. A basic horde type gamemode that only supports 2 player co-op. Nothing Special. Overall, this could've been an amazing game. an already solid fan base of all media but has been turned into a lazy "get rich quick" scheme by EA. It seems they have taken the "Titanfall" approach with this game. No single player story that people will get bored of after a week. The DLC packs must offer something special or this game will be dead very soon.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III2
Nov 13, 2015
The games been out a week now so through it would only be fair to give a "follow up" view. Has my view changed? no. I could be childish and state how much this game steals from Destiny and Titanfall but that would just be beating a dead horse. This week, the game has received 2 update. Both of which have done nothing noticeable. Servers are still terrible, lagg is unbearable and 4 out of 6 matches I've tried joining since the dashboard update have glitched out and the map never loaded. For companies such as Treyarch and Activision, I would have though these issues would be addressed immediately. Bad map design has plagued this game terribly. Every map just feels the same lay out which a center linear path and 2 outer linear paths which different textures and vehicles scattered around. Just lazy map design as a whole. The campaign is what everyone seems to criticizing the most it seems and I can't disagree. The story doesn't make sense, doesn't follow its predecessors in any way which questions the title of this game. I always play Call of Duty games on veteran mode for the challenge. However, this game felt like I was playing it on rookie. Explains the realistic mode. Zombies is the only mode that I actually enjoy. The new map is large, tricky and one heck of a puzzle for those who try to solve without walkthroughs. I still think the decision to call the old "der reise" map "Giant" after quoting on release they would be "a classic from World at War" and a "new map exclusive to hardened edition buyers". Overall, is this game a good game? No. Is it worth buying? Not until the servers get fixed.

A truly amazing collection of games that spans all generations of gaming since the Spectrum from 1983. Every game in this collection is great fun (especially if you played them from a young age) and it is nice to revisit some of the classics. Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Tooie and Jet Force Gemini are among some of my all time favorite games and it's nice to be able to revisit these games and feel the same way as I first played them in the 90s (exception of the Banjo games maybe as They were released on XBLA in 2008 and 2009). The only big issue I have come across is that the N64 emulated games (Conkers Bad Fur Day, Jet Force Gemini & Blast Corps), have a tendency to freeze and force to restart of the game. This sadly appears to be quite a frequent occurrence which can get extremely annoying if you forget to save frequently. There appears to be reports of the Xbox emulation experiences problems such as frame rate and freezing but so far I have no experienced any of these. Won't even mention Jet Force Geminis' controls at this point. Overall, this is an amazing collection that brings back a lot of years of gaming nostalgia. While there are numerous other games that I would have liked to see make this game (007 Goldeneye, Diddy Kong Racing, Donkey Kong to name a few), the presented titles are more than satisfactory.

Admittedly, I am not a fan of Fifa or football as a whole. Havnt played Fifa since 11 and only picked this one up for something to play before I go back to university as NHL 15 was a big dissapointment. I have only played the online modes and frankly, I find the game a joke and just another money grabbing game by EA. Half the games I have played to start with are like watching a slideshow or have a ridiculous input delay (No, it's not my 50 meg down, 31 up connection), players appear to be ghosts and just run through every over player on the field and defenders just don't even seem to exist in most situations. I can't really comment on mechanics and "changes" but after reading reviews, it appears that it's EAs typical take. Fix nothing, mess up everything else. The gameplay feels really heavy and does not flow well at all, graphics are nothing spectacular like everyone makes them out to be, Luckily I got this game for £5 so all I've really lost on is a few packs on Ultimate Team. Won't be playing this game anymore at all and I'll go back to my previous views on Fifa.

Destiny is a prime example of an over hyped game. Ever since Bungie announced their collaboration with Activision on a new "secret" project, I can safely say that all gamers were eagerly antipcating this game. What we got is a miserable attempt **** based RPG (even MMO) style game that appears to be a very watered down cross between Borderlands and Mass Effect. The game is good don't get me wrong but the extremely short main story, repetitive nature and all too familiar style that is now nothing special puts the game way out of the boundaries that we were expecting. The online versus doesn't do the game much justice either. With no private modes, poorly designed maps that Halo 1 would be ashamed to have and seemingly terrible server control, It's not really an eye catcher.

Never thought I'd say this about an NHL game but this one is a joke and near unplayable. Owned it for 2 days and had 2 successful, glitch free games online. 2 games I didn't even have a goalkeeper (no it wasn't pulled), in 1 the shift changes kept previous player on the ice (had 20 players on at once, inanimate) and all players seem to be ghosts and nothing affects them. The game as a whole appears unfinished, rushed and poorly developed just to reach the sports release section of this gaming season. I myself will be trading this game in for NHL 14 back and just revert back to the 360.

BioShock Infinite8
Apr 10, 2013
I wanted to love this game. The hype surrounding this game was immense. I wasn't a big fan of the original BioShock and BioShock 2 just bored me. I was hoping that this game would give me a new perspective of the BioShock series. Before anything, BioShock Infinite is a great game. Definitely one of the best games this year in what seems to be an extremely dead gaming period. Graphics are outstanding, gameplay is smooth and combat is solid. However, a game isn't complete without a good story. This is where Bioshock Infinite was a let down for me. The story was really hard to follow. The plot characters just seemed way out of place. Elizabeth is said to be the "loveable" character in the game but even her role is somewhat hard to pick out. This is only made more confusing by final hour or so of the game. A lot of people have "complained" about the ending of this game and it is clear why. It is just a mess. It seems to trail off its natural path, giving the kind of "shutters island" finale that is just difficult to fully understand what is happening. Also, this game contains one of biggest pet peeves in gaming. The "survival" type final fight. A lot of games seem to be adapting this lately and it is just annoying and ruins everything about the game before that point. All this been said though, I liked BioShock Infinite. It did not give a new look on the series as I had hoped it would but I am glad I picked it up. A definite, if not inevitable" front runner for game of the year.

Aliens: Colonial Marines3
Apr 10, 2013
When game developers get pushed into making a public apology for a "misleading" trailer, This pretty much marks the scene for a game. Yes, I got hold of Alien: Colonial Marines a good period of time after release and after this announcement. Immediately I could see what the big uproar was about. First thing that is thrown in front of you with any game is the graphics, which feel like it has been thrown together from the 64 bit era. The trailer of this game showed amazing graphics, amazing game play and intense scenes. With the graphics been first the rule out that the trailer showed, what would be next? Well, to be honest, I failed to find one aspect of this game that made it "good". Controls are sluggish, hit detection is just pure awful, voice acting is laughable, story is bland and just the general play of the game is, well, almost unplayable. The AI are some of the worst I've seen in a game and the enemies are so unpredictable and mostly, unavoidable which makes the overall game play extremely frustrating and boring. I understand that this game also has an online multiplayer feature but I didn't couldn't try it due to lack of interest in the game as a whole and the fact the one time I tried to play an MP game, after half an hour it didn't find me a game. Overall, this game is a failed struggle to save a dying franchise.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance5
Mar 30, 2013
Metal Gear Rising is a classic example of a over-hyped game. Admittedly, the debut trailer left me excited and I couldn't wait for the games release. Now that I finally picked up so long after release, I am left dissapointed. I couldn't help but feel that the game is just a mash of some over games of similar genre. The extremely "over the top" combat and general sword action, extensive cut scenes and pauses and (to my opinion), a stale story, makes this game hard to take seriously. Not to mention the sticky controls and awful cameras. I thought games were past this. The number of times I tried to pan the camera around to see what I was fighting only to have it freak out is stupid. Even most of the enemies are unimaginative. Most enemies just feel like copies from other games and then the rest are just unnecessary, way over thought enemies that just hardly fit in. It appears that the game main attraction is the sword mechanics and the "blade" mode. All the trailers seem to focus primarily on this feature. Allowing players to go crazy. This gets boring 5 minutes into the game. Sure, It's fun to try slice that perfect watermelon like in the trailer, It's fun to slice a car in half, It's funny to slice the supports on a bridge to have it collapse but in the end its just not needed. Give a kid a toy and he'll just play with the box. An accurate statement for this game. Overall, a over hyped, lazy game that has it's moments but I just cannot take seriously.

Mar 22, 2013
One of the best sports games I've played, A complete revamp of NHL 12. Better mechanics, better gameplay, better goaltending... urgh, better goaltending. My only problmis this. The goaltenders are like acrobats. Diving from left to Right to make ridiculous saves. Not too bad once you get a pattern down. Despite this, I love NHL 13. The realism (except the checking) is outstanding. The passing is precise, the shot direction is precise, the true performance skating is precise, It's all pretty much perfect. It also holds some comic value I have to admit. Delivering a check in the corners only to have your opponent so a full 360 back flip and land on his behind, or a simple half somersault and land head first, It is amusing to watch. Needs to fixed definitely but funny non the less. The only play is extremely irritating though. Not because of the game mechanics at all but games are completely dominated by lagg. It gets frustrating when going to check an opponent and have them warp through you or go for a poke check and nothing happening when clearly you make contact. All this topped off by unskilled players just spamming the RB when on defence kinda kills the online experience not enough to effect the game as whole. An amazingly fun game and can't wait for NHL 14.

Gears of War: Judgment2
Mar 22, 2013
This game is a joke to the Gears franchise, there's nothing much more to be said. I am a long time Gears fan. Playing the game ever since I got my first Xbox in 2008. When Judgment was announced, I was excited. I couldn't wait for a new Gears title after been announced that the third instalment would be the last. Oh how I wish Epic games stuck to that word. This game takes everything away from what make Gears of War a unique game. Essentially giving the middle finger to long time hardcore and casual gears players. When you think of Gears of War, the aspects that come straight to mind are accelerated game play, intense close quarter battles, brutal executions and just amazing gameplay in general. The multiplier aspect is a camp fest. With players taking the infamous "Call of Duty" approach. Just sit on a ledge with a rifle and wait for your opponent, All skill has been removed from the game without any consideration to long time players. Sure, I am all for new players picking up a game and been able to play but there should be a learning curve. Not just pick up the game for the first time in your life and instantly be able to hold your own against some of the veteran players. That is not what Gears is about. Down but not outs (DBNOs) have been completely removed from the game taking with it the execution rule. Story wise, sure, a prequel sounded like a good idea but why make Baird the lead character for starters. He is the least liked character over the last 3 gears games (taken by polls on forums and other game sites). Why not take it back to Dom growing up or even Coles transition from thrashball player to COG. yes I'm nit picking now but it's just the thoughts I have about this game. my biggest issue with the game though is the control system. For 6 years, the D-pad has been iconic in the Gears play style. allowing instant switching between 3 weapon and a grenade. It worked perfectly. So why has People can Fly suddenly decided to follow the control scheme of pretty much every other shooter out there. The number of time I have hit the left d-pad to switch to the gnasher for close quarters, only to get gunned down by a rifle is ridiculous. Also when I go to check my surroundings, see where my team mates are and where I should be heading has only resulted in throwing my frag grenade. This game is just the classic example of giving a extremely popular game title to a not so well known company and them completely taking everything away from it. It happens when Ninja Theory did Devil may Cry, It kinda happened when 343i did Halo 4 (although that game was a noteworthy sequel story wise). Overall, the game is terrible. It will certainly has no replay value and I think I will stick to Gears of War 3 as my primary shooters. THANK YOU PEOPLE CAN FLY. You have killed the Gears name.

Tomb Raider: Underworld4
Mar 17, 2013
The only reason I picked up this game so far in it's life is to fill the gap of the Tomb Raider series. I had played every other Tomb Raider and with the release of the latest, I thought I should fill the gap. Sadly I was extremely disappointed. The controls are awful, the camera work is some of the worst I've seen in this generation, the story is boring and there are more bugs and glitches that Skyrim. The only redeeming factor about this game are a small selection of the puzzles. However, the navigation around most puzzles and general level progressing is completely trial and error. Making blind jumps just to hope something is there. Getting stuck in walls from jumping pole, walking into walls consistently due to terrible controls and simply not grabbing on to ledges in plain reach made the game almost unbearable. My biggest issue with any game is "endurance battles" and this game does not disappointing there. The final fight is literally running around avoid attacks and killing smaller enemies. This does not make an exciting finish to a game. Especially a game as bad as this.

Tomb Raider9
Mar 7, 2013
No game is created without flaws and Tomb Raider is definitely no exception. However, this is one of the best games I have played in a long time. It certainly loses the classic tomb raider feeling and values but everything else in the game certainly makes up for it. Creating a Tomb Raider game of a sandbox style game seemed to be a risky move but it certainly passes in all aspects. The game play is smooth. the story is solid, the scenery is amazing and the music fits in perfectly. Everything a game needs to excel. Now yes, I encountered a few glitches and bugs (some serious and some not so serious) but after 18 years of playing video games, I have come to expect this and I expect many other gamers have as well. These issues should not leave a negative feel. Every game has them. I can see a lot of people complaining about this cause the Tomb Raider series has a strong impact on the gaming world already and making this jump is certainly different. But times change and games change so all I say to these people is "Deal with it". My biggest problem in the game story is actually the final 4 words of the game. Too many games, movies and stories end the words "I'm not going home" and it gets a little annoying. With the multiplayer aspect, I can't really say much as I haven't played it much. But what I have played it appears to be well balanced, smooth flowing and contains well designed maps. All in all, Tomb Raider is an amazing game and and I certainly recommend anyone to pick it up and play through it. You will not be disappointed.

When this game was revealed at E3 2012, I was excited. We haven't been given a outstandingly good NFS game in a few years and with the number of bad release in it's name (The Run, Hot pursuit, Pro street to name a few), I felt like the franchise was slowly dying. This game I thought would pick things back up. I could not have been more wrong. With the title of "NFS Most Wanted" comes a great burden to take the name of what I feel was the last great NFS game released in 2005. Sadly, this game does not live up to expectations. There is literally NO story at all. simply do some races and then do one more. Rinse and repeat. The campaign mode can simply be beaten just by playing in the obviously focused online multiplayer. Granted, the online offers a lot of variation but that is not what a game needs. A game to be able to stand on single player which this game just does not. The multiplayer itself is extremely unfair to new players of this game as they can be instantly paired up with some players who have unlocked the higher tier cars, offering new players no enjoyment. All in all, this game is a disappointment and a possible seal in the NFS future.

It' been a while since I actually played a video game that got me stuck to my seat. Halo 4 has everything that a game needs to work. Outstanding graphics and cinematic, a fitting soundtrack and a solid story with strong emotion as a bonus. Sure, the story is short at around 7 - 8 hours of playtime on the hardest setting but what the game offers in game play and story definitely makes up for this. 343 industries are certainly a worthy successor to the great Bungie and I am certainly excited about what is to come from this company. I do however feel that this game does focus way too strongly on the online multiplayer feature but today, that's a given with any game of this genre. I would have liked the story to be longer but for what we are given, it is definitely a worthy sequel.

Having put over 100 hours into this game and completed most (if not all) major quest lines, I feel that I can write an honest review about this game. Everyone knows that Skyrim is THE biggest game of the year (fans or haters), there's truly no denying it. Although saying this for myself, I found the game getting extremely boring 40 - 50 hours in. Once the main storyline and the 3 obvious side lines, the game just becomes too repetitive. All misc missions seem to carry the seem pattern and the dragon attacks, although highly hyped about before the game was released, become extremely annoying and tedious. Don't get me wrong, the game is simply AMAZING. The wide open world with amazing scenery, interesting stories and awesome combat, I just can't help overlook the flaws of the games. And there are loads. Glitches are really the major enemy of any game of this size. It happened in fallout: New Vegas, it happens in battlefield, it is just something that can't be ignored. I have encountered many glitches in my time playing from minor graphical glitches to game breaking glitches costing me over 5 - 10 hours of game play. All-in-all, the game is amazing, gets fairly boring quickly and has its fair share of glitches. A definite game to play but just be prepared for it.

Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary6
Dec 31, 2011
One of the pleasures I missed out of in my childhood was owning an original Xbox and thus being unable to play Halo: Combat Evolved on its original platform. I can see why in 2001 this game would have been amazing and redefining but now it just seems a bit out of class with modern games. Because of this I find it really hard to give this game the positive rating that it obviously deserves but not earn in my eyes.
The campaign is the main focus really as the multiplayer is directed from Halo: Reach so can't really say much about that. I found the campaign to be extremely frustrating with levels being an obvious copy and paste of one another. I felt like Bill Murray in Groundhog Day whilst playing this game (1993 Movie). The only real feature of the game was the ability to take the game back to its original graphics which I ended up doing for a large majority of the campaign just to tolerate the repeated level design. *spoiler? The kinect feature of this game become really frustrating as it would pick up the slightest of sounds and act accordingly to what it thought it heard. The amount of times that I would randomly throw a grenade and kill myself was ridiculous and the constant game pausing rapidly got annoying. If you own a kinect device, I advise you turn this feature off. I really do want to give this a positive review but both physically and Mentally, I can't. 10 years ago it would have gotten a 10/10 from me surely but today, sadly not.

This game sets the example of what a game should be. A solid story, solid game play, smooth combat and excellent mechanics. 1 of my very few flaws with this game is that it is too short. I completed the story in less than 7 hours. Sure, new game + lets you replay the story with all previous unlocks but where's the fun in that? Maybe after a few weeks of parting with the game sure.
The variation in villains in this game compared to its predecessor, Arkham Asylum, is very well thought out and they tie in with the story almost perfectly. Although people say that this is just a larger version of Arkham Asylum, I cannot disagree more. Sure, it's an open world game (almost like a sandbox style) whereas Arkham Asylum was almost on a linear, bottleneck path but Arkham City is so much more than that. There are tonnes of things to do such as its side missions that introduce some less heard of villains into the game, the Riddler challenges and even another characters ability to free roam once the story is complete. Speaking of the Riddler, no Batman game is complete without the Riddler and his challenges.
Challenges also make a return with more variation, characters and tasks to complete to earn those precious stars.
Robin also makes an appearance in the story but sadly, it's only a brief moment. A robin section in this game would make it a whole lot better and add on more precious hours of gameplay.

I've had my doubts about MW3 ever since it's announcement. Personally, I have never liked the CoD franchise and missed out on CoD 4 which seems to be the best of the lot. I play the CoD games for campaign purposes only really so naturally, when I picked up MW3 I went straight to campaign. A very disappointing story line with very few "heightened" moments. Only one mission of the lot caught my full attention and makes up for the entire story in my opinion. It took me the worst part of 7 hours to complete this game on veteran (a new personal best on any games highest difficulty). Was very disappointing.
Multiplayer mode is where CoD games shine or die for me and sadly, this one died as soon as I saw my video of multiplayer. It looks like an exact clone of its predecessor MW2. With a few new game modes and weapon tweaks, it does not change the game style at all. The tactics and abilities of almost every CoD player are the same on some very badly designed maps. With the range of maps given on this game, you would think that a half decent one would have made its way onto the game but sadly, it has not. A very poor Multiplayer experience to veterans and newbies alike.
Spec Ops is only the real decent part of this game and is where 2/3 of my points come from. A complete recreation of the MW2 co-op missions and some new and "creative" (risky word) challenges which tests the players tactics, reactions and teamwork even on the easiest setting. Although this game will surely be up for the biggest (not best) game of the year, it has still left me with nothing but negative thoughts about the CoD franchise. A very poorly designed game. Campaign: 6/10
Spec Ops: 8/10
Multiplayer: 2/10
