Doctor Who (2024): 1 The Church on Ruby Road8

Pretty good so far. Amazing cast but a couple of problematic points (TW for blood libel with Church on Ruby Road) are worth mentioning. I am still looking forward to more! I love Doctor Who.

Doctor Who (2024): Season 18

Pretty good so far. Amazing cast, authentic trans and disability representation, and a couple of problematic points (TW for blood libel with Church on Ruby Road) are worth mentioning. I am still looking forward to more! I love Doctor Who.

Harlan Coben's Shelter8

I haven't read the book, but the show is interesting and I'm definitely looking forward to the finale (and reading the book!) It's a good teen whodunit mystery thriller type show. CW: If you're someone who could be triggered by kidnapping-related things, this may not be for you. There's a website where you can check for triggers which may be beneficial. (****/)

Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies10
Jul 4, 2023
I wasn't in love from the first episode, but I liked it and kept watching until it was absolutely Crushing Me. I don't know when it gripped my soul entirely, but I've been locked in ever since. Singing, dancing, proper impressed with the story and representation. In hindsight, the show is even better, and oml Ari's songs have me OBSESSED. Who knew I'd end up with nonbinary lesbian rep that healed my soul? A lesbian portraying a canon lesbian, who sings about her canon lesbian romance? I AM ALL IN!!!! It's a show for misfits, and a fresh contribution to the Grease universe. The actors are far more believable than in the original films, though I still very much love Grease itself, this show is is *chef's kiss*. I really hope that it's saved from this disastrous industry nonsense going on and gets season 2. I'm SO EXCITED for the new member of our favorite girl gang

A League of Their Own (2022): Season 110

I have to say, I was surprised I liked this! I'm not a sports person at all, but I actually ended up learning about baseball and didn't hate it! I'm really looking forward to season two. This show is amazing and has a stellar cast. I love the stories they chose to tell. I was not expecting to be fed! Although I did expect some rep, given the amount of people reviewing 0s and 1s just to bring the show down. Typically a sign that it may be something I like.

Ms. Marvel: Season 19
Jun 8, 2022
Ms. Marvel is a fun show aimed more at a YA audience but is enjoyable for anyone who enjoys superhero shenanigans (and doesn't hate diversity). It's quite stylized, with animations bringing Kamala's imagination to life. Iman Vellani is delightful in her role and I am looking forward to more!

Killing Eve10

I came across this show fairly recently and quickly got pulled in, but the Season 3 finale is the first episode to make me want to leave a review. Phenomenal scriptwriting, soundtrack, and acting. 10/10 recommend.

Batwoman10
Oct 25, 2019
While taste is subjective and Batwoman isn't a mind-blowing show straight out of the gate, the show is promising and much-appreciated by its LGBTQIA+ fanbase. While the Arrowverse is generally quite diverse and accepting, those values are sprinkled in and grow in other shows while Batwoman jumps right into the deep end in episode one. This earned accolades from myself and my peers, but from conservatives, this is offputting and makes the show a target. Instead of watching the show and forming an opinion, they don't give it a chance. I myself thought that the show was less political than the trailers implied, though those are of course made tailored to however they want to advertize the show. It is politically correct without being pushy, if you watch the show and not just the trailer or fanboy reviews. It's a shame that more people don't give the show a chance, because the complex relationships are in themselves engaging. Of course, you can expect some family drama with Kate being related to Batman, but her other family members had a few surprises in store. Not just the big one you might expect, but one I didn't see coming from a character I didn't think would get recognition or have much of a role. The show is gaining its footing and learning how to write its characters, and so far they're on the right track to having strong female representation, character development, and relationships that shape the narrative. We need more shows like this.
