The Walking Dead: 400 Days8
Apr 4, 2014
Let me just say that without the 'ending' bringing it all together this would be getting a very different score. The game is short, but it's pretty well done for what little you get in gametime. I would recommend it. I give it an 8... a low 8/10, because it presents in such a fresh and imaginative way. ALso it's pretty cheap when on sale...that would also be a reason. Are there better valued games out there? Of course. Are you better to spend that money on another game? Maybe. If you know what you got in S1 of the walking dead you will enjoy this content and have no reservations about splurging on a short yet sweet experience.

DmC: Devil May Cry8
Apr 4, 2014
This is a low 8/10. I didn't complete nearly half the content the game has to offer. For the simple reason that this type of game really doesn't appeal to me. Now why would I give a game that doesn't appeal to me an 8/10? Well first off this is my first entry into the devil may cry franchise. And for what it is, they did a really good job with this origin story (as far as origin stories go). I couldn't get into doing the secret areas. I couldn't really get into the environments. I didn't really like alot of the characters. The game is hampered by it's low resolution of 720p...which is a real pity. Why the 8? The game is absolutely beautiful...even with it's 720p handicap. The enemies the weapons....Dante's **** physics...everything is top knotch. The acting is even pretty good (alot better than resident evil). Like I said I didn't feel the need to learn all the combo's or complete the higher difficulties or do the secret areas. It just didn't appeal to me. I played to advance the story while marveling at how cool the fighting in the game was. That said, you can pull off some really brutally satisfying combo's in this game. Combat is fun in this game, period. There are a ton of weapons and it's satisfying to vary your attacks. Also the slow motion final blow to the enemies in the area is just awesome every time. It's fun. My major gripes with the game were that I felt (when not in combat) like I was on rails most of the time. I didn't feel any connection or understanding toward the environment I was fighting in. So it was hard to feel anything toward the universe past the individual characters in the story. The boss battles were all very satisfying. The music was superb. 1 problem was the ranged weapons, mainly ebony and ivory the iconic dual pistols of dante. They are terrible WEAK in this game. Their special powers ad combo's do next to no damage they are there to look badass and increase style points (the point system). I get what they were trying to do though. Being able to kill everyone with your pistols would detract from the game. SO their only real use is to look badass and to keep the style meter going (which is important). I really really enjoyed the final boss fight in this game. It was just so well done and so satisfying to play. It really made me want to go out and buy the sequel on the offchance I might get to experience another boss battle like that. The game didn't appeal to me, but I can appreciate a good game when I see one. 8/10.

The Walking Dead: Episode 5 - No Time Left8
Mar 21, 2014
Compared to the other episodes this one is the shortest. However, it is arguably the best of the bunch. Where they shortened the length they increased the number of choices and better polished the impact those choices had on your story. I don't want to spoil anything so I'll keep it vague but they pay tribute to the other episodes and the other decisions you've made, bringing everything together to give you a wider perspective of the world the story takes place in. It was very unexpected how they went about this episode. It was also really well done and arguably this is a good ending/beginning :) I enjoyed this series more than I thought I would. After playing the demo and being less than impressed....I picked up episode 1 when it became free and even at the end of that I wasn't completely convinced. But, I decided to give it a chance and although it isn't deserving of game of the year (like alot of reviewers have said) it is definitely worth your time to play it. I picked up season 1 on sale for basically 10$ CDN (all 5 episodes and 400 days). For that price I have little beef recommending this to someone to try. Some will like it, some will hate it. Season 1 is selling for 20$ CDN on psp right now. I'm sure in the future it will go on sale again. For $10 I'd say pick it up, take the risk, and try it. For 20$ it might be worth reading a review or two to get an idea of what you are buying (as is with most games), but if you understand this is a story-teller based game I doubt you will regret your purchase. I'm looking forward to buying season 2. It WAS on sale a few weeks **** I missed out. Bad on me. I'll probably wait for it to go on sale before picking up a season pass, but that's just how I do things. Hopefully some of my reviews were helpful for any skeptics.

The Walking Dead: Episode 4 - Around Every Corner8
Mar 21, 2014
I really enjoyed this episode. The characters were all fully developed by this point and it had a ton of emotional moments that made me stop and think. The puzzles were also better developed as was the dialogue and character intereactions. ALSO! There were alot less framerate issues. YAY! They finally started to fix it! Now it's not perfect but it's a big improvement over the last 3 episodes. The transition to new scenes is also better handled in this episode. I felt emotions towards all the characters. Especially Clementine. I really wanted to protect her during this episode. It just had alot of emotional moments that made me extremely sad or thoughtful. The gameplay rly enhanced the emotion too in some parts example: the shovel (You won't know what I mean by that until you play **** if you think you do you don't... trust me)

The Walking Dead: Episode 3 - Long Road Ahead7
Mar 21, 2014
Apparently the game DOES get better each **** I still had major framerate issues and characters unintentionally (obv glitch) repeated themselves in the dialogue pretty noticably. That said I enjoyed this episode for being unpredictable. Still though it gets a 7/10. I played episode 3 4 and 5 within a few days of eachother unlike episode 1 and 2...check out the next review.

Payday 25
Mar 21, 2014
I'm level 91. Let me repeat that....I'm level 91 and the max level is 100. So I **** you not when I tell you this game is best described as the following: A modd for an early 1998 3D pc game with upgraded mediocre graphics by today's standards. Don't follow me yet? I haven't seen ai this stupid since the first 3D fps games came out in the 90's. Hell I think I might be insulting some of those games by comparing them to payday 2. Worst ai I have any recollection of period. Got that? Okay let's move on... You can complete missions one of two ways, in stealth without triggering endless waves of brainless police and swat, or trigger the alarm and do things while shooting. Let me just say that it pays more to just trigger the alarms and deal with the waves of endless bots. UNLESS you are in a group with mics that are all speced in one of the trees or are high enough level to be speced in multiple trees. If you are in a pug group you might as well just trigger the alarm since somebody is going to anyways...save some time. Graphics - Mediocre is being a little bit nice. If you get up close to objects you can literally make out their colour bits (google 8 bit games). Everything close up looks like utter **** It's like minecraft quality. For some reason in 75% of the world you can't make bullet holes. So shooting most walls just doesn't leave any marks at all. The physics are completely nonexistent except for ragdoll effects. You walk right through most enemies and your teammates. The maps have invisible walls right in the middle of open streets that only the ai can walk through. There are so many glitches in this game it's not even funny. It's froze my ps3 3 times. Recently there's been an influx of host connection problems. It will say you are disconnected from psn (when you aren't) if you are the host and you lose everything in the middle ****. If you aren't hosting it will say "connection to the host has been lost". Certain levels like the Diamond store are GLITCHED and CANNOT be completed in stealth because the getaway van doesn't open. You have to trigger the alarm and then wait for the van to come back to complete it. So why in the hell is this getting positive reviews? I don't know tbh. I think it has something to do with the fact that people on the ps3 have never experienced this sort of game before (4 player coop with objectives and goals? sounds old but it's not in the context of robbery). I certainly haven't played anything like this on the ps3 before. This is a modd....a beta version **** if you will. It is not complete and yet they are selling it for ...29.99 or 39.99 as a full fledged game. This thing is still in development. It has a deep skill tree system and a bunch of good **** it isn't done. If you need to play this game go play it on pc. The console version is far far behind in updates and dlc. Infact if you play the console version and then look at the pc version on youtube you will think that it was payday 3. I don't even want to imagine what this game was like before the 25 gb update consoles got in 2013. I'm playing this thing in 2014 cause it's free on ps plus (I wonder why...). The other thing to mention is how easy the hardest missions are. You can be in a team of lvl 50's or below and beat the hardest heists it has to offer. Thus it begs the question of why even bother going to lvl 100 when you've completed the hardest levels the game has to offer? (pc has higher difficulty levels) Oh and that's another thing. The game has hardly any levels. YOu will be running the same maps over and over and over again. Especially since 'rats' hands out an insane amount of exp compared to the others and can be completed on the highest difficulty SOLO in a fraction of the time it's counterparts take. It still feels like I am farming exp all the time just to unlock something that might help me do the mission in stealth. The other issue with this game is the enemies have 100% accuracy and know EXACTLY where you are at all times. You can't hide behind bushes or try to sneak up on the enemy....they know exactly where you are 24/7. Even if you are inside a building behind a number of walls they know exactly where you are. The next problem is the shooting. Most of your shots will not register if you go full auto on someone. You have to fire in bursts. And most of the time you won't know when the enemy is dead or about to get up and shoot you **** it's always a good idea to pound a few extra shots into them to make sure. Unlike most games this one has arcadey kind of enemy attacks. You will hardly ever see enemy gunshots...whether this is realistic or not it makes for some frustrating experiences since you won't know where in the hell the enemy is and where he is shooting you from. The other arcadey feature is full armour regeneration after about 4 seconds of not being attacked. Maybe by Payday 5 we will have a game deserving this metascore.

DO NOT BUY! Servers are shutting down the end of january. Plus the game is pretty dead as is, only 1 mode is played and you usually have to wait over 5 minutes for a game. The fact that I'm seeing this game everywhere in retail for a rly good price is kinda sad. This game will probably be sold as a used game even after the servers are **** this game is absolutely nothing without its servers. This is why fps belong on the pc. Consoles are such money **** it's not even funny. They have this unspoken rule of being the cheaper to play model. Well they aren't. Stores make their money from console games. People return them and they resell them. In comparison you can't return a pc game or trade it in to a large vendor etc. The game? So I started playing this in 2012. This is probably the best fps console game for clans. Basically this is for alot of reasons, but one in particular. After you die you go into a dying state, and can be revived to full health with the click of a button by a teammate that is even 10m away from you! you can literally be **** **** **** **** **** a never ending loop. It makes for some interesting gameplay. When you are in this dying state the enemy has to shoot your remaining health to **** this usually amounts to more than half a clip from an assault rifle. It takes about a whole clip to kill some1 with heavy armour and 120 health....then you have to **** then empty another 12 rounds into the corpse to prevent any nearby enemies from reviving the guy you just killed. It rly doesn't matter how many kills you get in the game, what matters is how many you "finish off" after you kill them. As you might imagine an army of 2 is many times stronger than an army of 1. This is rly a team game and staying with your squad and team is how you win the matches. ALot of good cool things about this title though. in sabotage (the only game type with people in it right now) you spawn from an aircraft and parachute in after you succeed in the first 2 objectives. While parachuting in the enemy can shoot and kill you before you even make it to the ground. I like this. I like that a team is rewarded for playing well together. Spawn protection is a rly stupid thing in fps imo. That said, the defending team is always given spawn **** so are the attackers up until the final objective. If you run too far into the enemy zone you just die. So I mean..what I'm saying hardly applies to even 1/4 of your gametime. Other thoughts: there's 3 factions. you have to pay extra money to unlock more than 1 character profile (lol). I mean this prevents people from just going back and forth between factions (which I get makes sense), but....whatever give them money and you get an edge. 2-3 of the gametypes (it was 2 I think) were locked and you had to buy. They made one of them free a year or 2 **** there's 1 locked gametype you have to pay for still....which noone is playing (at all) so is a waste of money. Hell this entire game is a waste of money if you are reading this. You have till about the end of January before your rental expires. Then all you are gonna be left with is a basic basic basic 1 minute training mode. I didn't play this game with a **** with a buddy or whatever. So take my score however you want to take it. Also in each game type the wins per faction are tallied up and the winning faction gets an ingame passive reward. However these rewards are just for show. Were talking 5% increases in leadership range (rofl...useless) and 5% less cooldown on artillery (more rofl). It's a joke rly. If they made them worth something maybe I would take pride in every game I won or thought for a moment that it made a difference if we won or lost a match. Other gripes: Heavy machine guns **** in this game big time. game winning strategies sometimes amount to grenade spamming the enemy position so they stay dead when they die and can't be rez'd over and over. Oh and 1 more thing. If you want to know why your lovely game is so dead look no further than the community of clans. You do not want to be on a team with clan members on it. If you are, chances are they are going to be jerks and kick you either right before the match is over or half way in or right away. They either do this to make room for another clan member or because they are jerks. Either way they end up being jerks since when you are kicked you lose all exp and money from the match. The kicking system: if 4 members on the squad vote yes you are gone! It is rly easy to get kicked. I mean this is great for kicking team killers and guys abusing their mic. But typically you will have 4 members of the same clan in your squad, and they can boot you anytime they want to. There's no repercussion for kicking an innocent player. So maybe clans should ponder that for a while when they complain that "everyone is a cod or bf noob, that's why there are no players left".

Great single player. An even greater multiplayer. Limitless hours of fun to be had here. There weren't any expansion packs for this game which was really a pity. But the online community has provided plenty of mods and new gametypes/modes for you to play. There were realistic mod servers where you had 1 life the entire **** was very intense. There were zombie mod servers that were insanely fun. Star wars **** name it. ANd oh yes there was a planes and vehicles mod server! very very fun. Also Normandy mods....where the allies climb the beach while getting absolutely wrecked by **** machine guns. There are a bunch of little issues and things I didn't like about the game that prevent me from giving it a 10. It was definitely a well deserved 9/10.

This is a must own game for anyone with a wii that can stomach it. The music is superb. The commentators are actually laugh out loud funny! The boss battles are also a blast...quite literally. Just when you think it is overkill the game does something crazy to take it up a knotch. The weapons and everything about the game is great. Even the graphics on this game are wonderful. The black and white environments are not at all bland or boring to look at. I only have 2 major gripes with this game. 1. Multiplayer is TERRIBLE! They dumbed down the actual attack moves you can use and made it so you have to compete for points in a stupid get more points than your partner mode. I invited a friend over because I was loving the singleplayer and wanted to try the multiplayer. I had to stop after about 15 **** literally apologize for making my friend play it. I then proceeded to show him singleplayer and why I thought multiplayer was going to be badass and he got it. This is a single player game period. I mean all they had to do to make it multiplayer was add split screen co-op to the single player.....either that or not dumb down the game controls. One thing they did right though was the commentators gave special 2 player dialogue in multiplayer. Very funny, very appropriate! Second gripe: the game itself isn't that long. Yes you can replay it with unlocked super weapons and its still **** it loses its charm after a certain amount of playthrough. It still is a must play experience. There are so many cool ways to kill enemies and score points. I will seriously get flagged if I illustrate the cool combo's you can do. They just use the environments so well in the game, to create such a satisfying experience. For example you can use 3+ different environmental objects/events on a single enemy for some truly gut wrenching displays.

Dead Rising 2: Off the Record4
Dec 10, 2013
This is one of the worst gaming experiences I've had on the ps3. The story is utter cliche garbage. It feels like glorified $5 dlc content. The exact same character models have DIFFERENT voice actors...2 scenes later. like wtf? THe dialogue is cheesy and boring as can be. As a standalone game this is just a terrible experience. The map system is atrocious in this game. Half the time you don't know where you are going or what direction the objective is in. The cool weapons you find.....aren't that cool. The katana was rly the only weapon that was somewhat fun to use. You can jump attack and slice zombies cleanly in half. gun controls are terrible in this game. You can aim and shoot here but there's terrible hit detection and physics. Overall this is a below average tank control button masher that has you killing wave upon wave of mindless zombies. The survivors (friendly ai) and human enemy ai fare no better than the zombies do. You have a single attack button....light attack (tap) and heavy (hold down). There's no combos or anything like that. It's just mash this single button. Other thing to mention is the atrocious frame rate in the game. Right off the bat, the menu screen is running under 10fps. It gets better in game but its noticeably choppy. And the character models get reused over and **** is just noticeably cheap looking. I don't really see what is fun about this game. You would think even mindlessly killing zombies in a mall would be fun....well in this game it isn't.

No dedicated **** **** **** strategy....certain guns are just plain unrealistic...heavy machine guns are completely useless in this game....grenade launcher spammage=easy kills. Did I mention no dedicated servers? Meaning there are no mods for this game. There are no online communities. I don't even remember being able to choose the freaking map I wanted to play on. You just enter a session and get randomly paired up with others for the next map in the mode. Bless the **** only times I had fun with this game was when people hacked the servers and changed gravity settings and made everything badass like you could back in cod2. There is no skill required for multiplayer. You can run around like a cheetah and just 1 hit knife people without breaking a **** aim required! What an utter piece of trash. This is unacceptable...multiplayer like this belongs on the consoles and only on the consoles. It's all about running forward and shooting the thing in front of you. The maps are so boring and predictable.....there's no chokepoints or strategy at all here. The only defense in this game is a good offense. The portable turret defenses are a joke and don't kill anything. The actual gun turrets you can man at certain points on the map are self pronounced death traps. You can turn them basically 15 degrees each direction.....making them absolutely useless unless the enemy is standing right infront of you. Plus they do terrible damage and require a warmup and cooldown? The hell?! Total crap. Any heavy machine guns in this game are crap. There's no cap on **** just die **** respawn. The respawn points are always changing...your team will be spawning on one side of the map the first few minutes then you and the enemy will switch spawn points. Spawn Killing has been eliminated completely with **** you played cod2 NOT mw2 you will recall the brilliant moments where a team that was ruthlessly kicking arse would be rewarded by pinning down the opposition to a specific area and getting tons of kills. This is the worst pc 1st person shooter I have ever played. AVOID THIS AND ANY FUTURE COD TITLES! I went from cod lover to absolute hater. Cod2 I'd give a 9/10 so much fun. codmw2? 2/10

Nov 26, 2013
This is my favourite console game of all time...nothing other than ocarina of time comes close to this masterpiece. The story and everything in this game is just plain genius. This is the game you play after you beat Ocarina of time. It basically picks up the difficulty where OoT left it, it feels like the best expansion pack ever made only it's a full fledged game. It felt like they took the engine that ran OoT and maxed out its potential and then invested every other second focusing on this amazing story and gameplay. I dare someone to come up with a game with a story as complex as this one is. All the work that had to be put into making this time system and all these events line ****'s just a masterpiece. I'm giving OoT a 10 also, but Majora's mask is my personal favourite.

Resident Evil: Revelations8
Nov 23, 2013
The question everyone wants to know is: Is this game better than RE 6? The short answer is yes and no. This doesn't have the same production values of re6. For what it is though, its pretty damn good. If you enjoyed resident evil 1 you will be delighted by this game's return to exploration and back tracking. Your mansion is a luxury cruise ship this time around. The story is less ambitious than re 4, 5 ,6 which isn't a bad thing. This is kind of a side story when all is said and done but its a noteworthy one. Raid mode is a blast. I only wish they added harder levels. You can go up to level 50. but you'll beat all the actual levels and difficulties before reaching it. The cool thing about raid mode is that they pushed the envelope. THey included all the enemies from the campaign in crazy scenarios that really test you. Most importantly, it feels like they properly used everything the game had to offer to a proper extent. Unlike in re 6....where they put restrictions on everything and prevented you from experiencing everything the game could offer. The story is more believeable than **** it still has some pot holes in it that didn't make any sense. Which is kind of unfortunate. It still retains some of that cheesy resident evil dialogue and story were all getting tired of, but its the closest thing to re1 before re4 came out. re 4, 5, 6 are all advance advance **** move from one location to the other with no backtracking. In comparison you will be doing a ton of backtracking in revelations which is actually a good thing since it creates the mansion kind of atmosphere. They do something sort of weird though. They divide the story into episodes. They allow you to backtrack to places you were in previous episodes, in certain episodes, for the sake of exploring or getting lost. But you will feel a constant push forward that you wouldn't feel in say re 1. At the end of it, its really going from point a to b, but its the closest thing to re1 out of the newer iterations of re franchise. Its fun. I got it for half price since I waited 6 **** actually cost me the same as re6 basically (which I also got for about 1/3 of the price). If you were waiting to buy re 6 and 5 and 4 and revelations, now or 1 or 2 sales ago would be the ideal time to pick them up. For a port the game looks very good. capcom rly spruced up the game with hd, to the extent where it feels not that far from re6. Its actually more consistent graphics than re6...which is understandable since its more isolated environments. I gave re6 a 7, and I stand by that...they put restrictions on everything in the game and they just botched it all up. revelations they pushed everything to the limit, and now they get an 8. That said, you are going to be wishing you have the kind of movement and voice commands you had in re 6. Also the menu interface in revelations is far far worse than 6 (and 6 was pretty **** some reason capcom likes you to mash the x button a ridiculous number of times just to get where you want to. the game also has glitches since its more **** the online players can be real jerks about it. There are also cheaters abound in raid mode....which kills all the fun and sense of accomplishment. There's no option for reporting people....unless you have a mic its pretty much impossible to communicate with your partner in raid mode, past barking 4 generic commands. raid mode hunk's voice is way too deep I can't even understand what he says. the ooze rachel and lady hunk dlc characters are a joke. the game has problems, so much that I would like to point out that this is a very low 8.....were around 8.0-8.1 here. there's some good ideas here though and its still a good game at the end of the day. It's a pity they won't add more stages to raid mode, which is rly the highlight after finishing the campaign. there's no run button which is nice to see (in re 6 etc though you need the run button since you are traveling such long distances), you just use the control stick to walk/run. there are open environments and closed environments, more so closed. I'm done, 8/10. but a very low 8 at that.

Okay so my only major gripes with this game (it won't affect score) is that they allow you to enable to original japanese **** its unplayable this way. That is because they made it into an english version, and this is a heavily text based game. Is the english text a good translation of the Japanese dub? NO! Even if you can understand japanese, and read english this game is still unplayable with **** dub. I mean it was nice that they included it, but if the english text translation is totally different from what they are saying there is no point. Enough said, the game has to be played in english. This is disappointing to me since I watched the anime in **** dub and really loved the character voices. That said, the english translation is great for what it is. With the exception of the fact that they now pronounce Alicia as **** top quality if you don't deal in foreign languages. They keep the spelling as Alicia and pronounce it as Alysha in the english...which doesn't make sense. Its pronounced Alicia in the **** dub....they changed it to americanize the damn thing which was stupid idea imo. The english nicknames they decided to use are also kind of lame. None of this is affecting my review **** a solid 9/10. It does something that many other games have failed at, it makes a rts work on a console. First thing upon playing this game is, this isn't a real world simulator. It does what it does to work. It has its own gameplay rules. Its like a board game, you need to understand how things work. There isn't this intuitive sense of things where you can just run in and understand everything without practice and reading the rules. The **** blue flame I would definitely pick up. I kind of wish they offered it all as a 10$ bundle. I've only gone through about half the **** very hard mode is just plain suicidal. So if you really want a challenge it delivers. One of the dlc, enter the edy detachment is terribly short...which is disappointing given its cost. So its pick and choose if you want best value with the dlc. I suggest reading the instruction manual. It's very important that you know that shock troopers have a 30 degree interception fire line of sight. in comparison scouts have a 50 degree line. So your shock troops isn't going to shoot at an enemy that is running toward it, unless it is within that 30 degree area it is facing. Its really important your troops are facing the right direction when you end your turn. Killing enemy troops on the enemy's turn is very important in the game. Snipers and lancers don't have intercepting **** they won't return fire on approaching enemies. The game has a steep kind of learning curve. It isn't trying to be realistic, its trying to work as an rts on a **** it works wonderfully. So why not a 10? Cause the enemy ai isn't exactly stellar. I've yet to see an enemy engineer do any engineer work. Also there's no online component which is disappointing. Also no trophy component which....I don't get why they didn't. Adding trophies is good advertising if nothing else. Lot of love and other stuff here. I played through the campaign twice thus far and its just as fun the second time around. I wish there was more content at the end of it though. The campaign only has 1 difficulty. Some of the missions are insanely difficult/infuriating your first time through, others not so much. Overall its not the most consistent difficulty curve but it offers the right level of challenge. A great game that you should play if you own a ps3. I wish the sequels would get ported to the ps3.

Wow....10's? seriously? You did notice this was for the ps3 version right? Well I won't waste your time: This game has very very noticeable framerate problems. I have the newest version of the **** I downloaded the digital version off of psn (were talking winter 2013 **** any patches have already been **** the game is the only one to blame here. These game issues literally ruined the overall experience and prevent me from giving this game anymore than a 7/10. Yes the story is compelling and great and everything good about you read I probably agree with. I'd give this a higher score if it wasn't for the crappy release. There are still issues from the first game....mainly the lack of transition to loading screens. Couple that with these 2-5 second screen freezes while characters are talking and you get a pretty botched experience. I downloaded all the episodes on sale. Will be playing episode 3 soon, hopefully there won't be any more technical issues.

Hatsune Miku: Project Diva f9
Aug 28, 2013
I generally don't write reviews after two days of playing, but this game needs all the love and support it can get. This is the first Hatsune Miku game to be distributed in North America. If it succeeds in sales we can expect to see more of such products...thus I am writing an early review to try and convince anyone reading this to go out and buy asap. The short version of the review is: go download the free demo off of psn. If you find the demo enjoyable...then buy the game. Note if you are anything like me, you will fail miserably at the demo your first few hours of playing it. It will take a while to get used to this kind of game if it is foreign to you. So if you don't enjoy your first 1-2 hours playing the demo....take a **** try it again later. Give it a chance to grow on **** used to the **** used to the timing of the notes. Once you understand all this and start clearing the songs and getting decent scores you will be able to determine whether or not to upgrade. I had very little concept of what Hatsune Miku was when I first saw the demo for this game for ps3. I always had the image **** with green-blue hair with the words 'vocaloid'. So one fine day I was downloading demo's a random and this one popped up. So I gave it a go and I am glad I did. I have been waiting ever so patiently these past few months for the full game to come out. I think this may very well have been the very first game I ever pre-ordered funny enough. My little knit picks with my purchase: the pre-order bonus offered by gamestop/eb games is nothing special (this is ofc gamestop's fault). The packaging itself: disappointed me tbh. The inside is just the cd with the standard picture on it and the shortest instruction/player manual I have ever seen. In game there is no option for subtitles to be displayed for the **** you probably won't know most of what they are singing about. The game menus are translated to english and all but it is a bare bones translation. They use words like "Sooooo" and stuff to place emphasis where it is supposed to be...which is a good thing, so good job there. I really just wish they gave the option for subtitles to be displayed. There really needed to be that option. Granted most fans would play with it disabled, but alot of us would have liked the option available. They could have easily taken the best of the many fan translations online of these songs and put it in. I can guess what they are saying most of the time, but other times I don't know what the exact translation is. Would have been nice if they gave the option for these to be subbed. All I want is the option for subs...I'm not saying that people need them....just I personally wanted to see that option. I've been relatively upset with Sega as of late since I purchased Valkyre Chronicles and couldn't have proper english subs with the Japanese audio...making the option of Japanese audio basically make the game unplayable. I'm not saying it is the same case or anything. Just sega should show a bit more love to the fans. Granted it is at a diminished price, which is appropriate. But alot of people are literally buying the game a second **** **** 4th+ just to support the North American Distribution. I just don't see why Sega couldn't offer a thank you, by including something new or adding the subtitle **** giving some nice inside box artwork or something. A poster... a ps3 theme that doesn't **** ****. Anyways back to the original game. I haven't unlocked every song yet, and have only cleared a single song on hard....I looked at extreme and it is totally beyond my capabilities So no worries about lack of challenge. There is a trophy component here as well, which I appreciate anyways. Yes trophies are just a pointless number but they are good because they show you easter eggs/everything the game has to offer, and in this case and it made me feel a little less **** when I failed a song miserably... Anyways I'm nowhere done with the game, but am enjoying it immensely. Alot of the songs don't appeal to me as much as the demo 3 did. But I've started to replay some of them and the more you replay them the more memorable and likable they become (just like the demo). Some of the star bonus animations/scenes I found were disappointing or paled in comparison to those on other songs. The animation itself is simple when you get down to it. But it is fluid and consistent and the environments to date have all been very well rendered. It is visually appealing to look at when you are on the stage. Offstage it is pretty bland though. A 9/10 seems a fair score to give it at this point. Were looking at something between 80-95%, I just haven't had time to play through all its content yet.

God of War Saga8
Aug 25, 2013
I bought this in the extra controller bundle. For what I got it was definitely a bargain deal. This was my first time playing a God of War game. I completed the first 3 full games. I haven't played the two psn games since you have to download them. Which is quite misleading given what the box tells you. You get 3 games on **** have to download the other 2. So please note this review will not include those two games. Right, first off make sure this isn't the first playstation game you ever play. I made that mistake. I ended up having stopped playing it after finishing the first 'level' in gow1. Then the next couple months I played other games on the **** used to the controller...knew what the buttons were etc. Then finally I decide to give it another chance and holy hell there was a huge difference. Lets start by saying God of war 1 and 2 both look absolutely stunning in this hd remake. This is how all HD remakes should be made. It felt like I was playing a ps3 game through both experiences. It was only during the 'movie cutscenes' that you are reminded that this was a ps2 game. The in-game cutscenes are all in hd, which is great, so you hardly notice most of the time. God of war 1. A good game make no mistake. It consists of the formula: fight, puzzle, cutscene etc....with the occasional boss battle tossed into the mix. The gameplay becomes pretty predictable halfway through. You do some fighting and then you have to do a **** more fighting....then its another puzzle....then a boss.....then it repeats. What will drive you through this is the story. Kratos is such a great character. He has such an interesting past....I played the game and went through the fighting and puzzles just for the sake of progressing the story. The puzzles here are ruthless though. Most have 0 margin for error and have to be done in 1 specific way. Other issues: invisible walls almost everywhere you go, falling deaths especially near the end of the game are a little bit too cruel for comfort. Right, God of War 2....this is where we hit the main problems. God of War 2 is essentially God of War **** do exactly the same **** are driven by the exact same goals. It feels like you are playing the same game over again. Then comes God of War 3. Which opens with some amazing cinematics and epic fights and gets you all hyped up and......guess what? it is exactly like the other two god of war games! It literally became a grind fest...where I just wanted to progress the story. I hated the ending to the third **** was a terrible ending. Basically starting at the last quarter of Gow2...alot of the plot twists...they seemed stupid. They made no sense. Alot of the story in general seems to be designed to facilitate 1 on 1 fight sequences. Which isn't always a bad **** when it never strays far from the basic fighting formula it becomes boring. Will I buy the new GOW? If it goes on sale for really cheap...maybe. I highly doubt that the game mechanics have changed enough to make it any different from the first 3. And Playing God of war 3 or 1 or 2 all over again just doesn't appeal to me especially when I have to dish out cash to do it. This was written as a spoiler free review. So the main reason I'm not backing up my comments with facts from the game is it would spoil things. But everyone has a different perspective. Kratos is an interesting character. He is a ruthless killer to the point where he becomes a complete through alot of the games. Yet there is some humanity left in him, and it's interesting to see it manifest itself however **** then it wilts away and were back in the suicidal kind of void of despair in the back of his mind. The puzzles in gow2 and 3 are easier because they are more predictable...since they are similar to gow1's. gow 1's puzzles will leave you thinking a bit since they require a very precise and specific way of doing things that isn't always apparent. 8/10 for value, solid gameplay, and interesting and worthwhile story (through at least half the experience anyways).

Back to the Future: The Game - Episode I: It's About Time4
Jul 20, 2013
Wow this game has higher scores than I'd expect. Let's start with the good: The dialogue, the story, the voice acting are all superb in this game. If you are a back to the future fan this game was literally written for you in mind. There are tons of inside references to the lore of the movies. The environments are relatively well thought out and the puzzles 'on paper' are actually good. The whole base for a good-great game is **** it's incomplete. In a nutshell: It basically succeeds as a story, and fails as a game. I'll be reviewing the ps3 version not the pc version so keep that in mind. This game is just plain incomplete. It feels like the intentions were great and the foundation got laid **** then it was rushed out the door before bug, framerate, and error testing was done. The bad: Graphics on this **** cell shading suits the game great but overall it looks like something you could play on a ps2. This would be tolerable and understandable given its a budget title but the game has framerate and animation problems! There are many many times in the game where a character will repeat their last word over again like a hiccup. Originally I thought this was maybe intentional to give the characters depth or **** it becomes pretty apparent it isn't. How to describe this: The lipsyncing on alot of the game is spot on. But on quite a few parts its just terrible or **** it really prevents you from immersing yourself in this story and loving these characters. When you get to walk around the environments: your actual walking animation has framerate problems. Your 'fast walk' is sloooow. You run into invisible walls in every single environment you are in. Especially at the beginning of the **** start out in a large open area and it lets you walk in all directions until bam...invisible wall out of nowhere hits you. On the inside environments this is **** outside its not. you feel like your free roaming from one stair case to another (if you can define that as free roaming). The controls too are broken here. You will be having a painful time getting your controller buttons to **** to select the item to interact with. There were alot of awkward moments were I literally couldn't walk in the direction I wanted to or didn't know how to since the controller was accepting up for up and down for up at the same time. The puzzles: there is honestly one puzzle here where it wouldn't let me interact with an item until I walked into the corner of the **** corner next to the door where there is absolutely nothing to do or see but another invisible **** have to go out of your way and walk there to trigger the cutscene that allows you to do the puzzle....really? Yes really. Final verdict: 4/10. I would only recommend this to people who are big back to the future fans. As I said **** game succeeds on the story and many other **** it fails gameplay wise. A noteworthy story with funny reference jokes and lots of cool **** a broken game. I wanted to love this game I really did, but the end result is an skip-able experience.

The Walking Dead: Episode 1 - A New Day7
Jul 8, 2013
I was pleasantly surprised by this game. I had played the demo and was not impressed at all. That said, episode 1 became free (again) on the psn. So I said sure lets give it a try. However I'll be reviewing it as a $5 game, so keep that in mind. Let's start out by saying that this type of game isn't for everyone. Alot of people are going to hate it. I'd recommend playing through episode 1 before buying the others. Going into the game and at the start of episode 1 I literally thought I was going to be giving this game a score under 5. Let's start with the bad. The beginning of the game is grueling and boring. The few times you get to free roam around you run into invisible walls everywhere you go. The game play is linear, enough said. The dialogue at first is pretty dull. The game itself is surprisingly not as short as I thought it would be. It ends after an appropriate time period for an episodic game that costs $5. That said, you can definitely blow through this thing in under an hour if you skip all the dialogue sequences and know exactly what you need to do. So this isn't exactly a bargain deal, or giving you the most bang for your buck, its $5 for about 2 hours of content. So why a 7? Cause I was pleasantly surprised by how good the voice acting was and how good the story became over time. I was literally laughing at some of the dialogue and what the choices I took evoked from the characters around me. The dialogue is great in this game. The story becomes very interesting over time, but like I said the start is boring. But everything just builds so at the end of the game I literally wanted to know what all the characters were **** I spent the time and talked to all of them. I don't know if the choices you make in this game really matter or not, but it feels like they do and that is what is important. The story and plot twists are great, the puzzles are rewarding since they advance the story in interesting directions. I was laughing my ass off at one of the 'mini-puzzles' involving a radio and a reporter who seemed smart and had 100% accuracy with a **** was totally technologically challenged to say the least. The choices you get are more and more amusing as the game goes on....since the characters start to develop more and more. The gameplay, for what it is, is very well done and fun (imo anyways). You'll be on rails basically most of the time but there's enough variation here to make things interesting. The death sequences are also very amusing. The zombies start out as slow and stupid and you wonder how they manage to kill **** then they go rabid when they get close to their prey. Making for some amusing death sequences. Even your own death sequences are funny and detailed. It's literally a point and click adventure story game. If that doesn't sit well with you then its not for you. Another point to make is the transition scenes are basically non-existent. You'll be seeing loading screens at the end of cliffhanger dialogue and all of a sudden your in another town and the other characters that seemed to matter are left behind. It will allude to the fact that you 'might' travel with this **** then all of a sudden after choosing to verbally abuse him you somehow end up riding with him to another town like nothing happened. It's a linear experience where you go from point a to point b. The variation lies in the character **** will you try and ****. So I give it a 7/10 and I'm 60% sure I'll be looking into buying the next episode, probably when it goes on sale. You'll burn through the first episode in 1 sitting make no mistake. But the content 'becomes' good enough to warrant a buy. The animations and art style are spot on. The graphics are consistent throughout. But you will be constantly reminded this is an episodic game that cost $5. That said, by the end of it you really do feel like your choices are going to influence what happens in episode 2. This game has alot of hype around it, and maybe its warranted, but it has its flaws. As a standalone game for $5 I give it a 7/10.

Resident Evil 6: Onslaught Game Mode6
May 19, 2013
After dishing out another $15....3/4 of what I paid for the actual game. I downloaded the extra maps for $5, and then the siege pack with the 4 modes for $10. WASTE OF MONEY! I am a huge REsident Evil fan and actually thoroughly enjoyed doing everything possible in **** this content is total crap! Do not expect to be buying a mode that is the same quality as the mercenaries. **** you have a mic and someone to chat with THIS mode is maybe worth the purchase. This is basically the only mode that has any kind of depth to it. Below I talk about the other multiplayer modes..skip down a section for Onslaught. ****** The other 3 additional pay to play modes have the shortest time limits imaginable....matches will go anywhere from 1 minute-5 minutes of actual gameplay! Literally it's like playing agent mode for 30 seconds and then mercenaries for another 30 seconds and then the game is **** will spend as much time getting the people together and starting the game as you actually do playing the content! They put restrictions after restriction on the modes and **** just isn't fun! The time limits are so damn short on all the other modes. ******** Onslaught is like Mercenaries but with some different mechanics. A game will actually last a maximum of 10 minutes if you or your competitor don't die.....which one of you most likely will 3/4 of the way in. This is the only game mode that is worth buying. The other 3 multiplayer modes and map packs are total GARBAGE! Do NOT waste your money on it. All the maps you can play on are gutted in all 4 **** certain sections are totally missing and blocked off. With onslaught...this is okay....with the other games? No! not okay! Onslaught gets a 6/10. The other games modes.....total crap. If you are thinking of buying the other maps for Onslaught or the mercenaries.....consider requiem and **** rest have nothing new to offer.

Resident Evil 6: Map Pack Bundle5
May 12, 2013
First review? Okay then...Picked this up for $5 off of psn. Honestly I wasn't very impressed by the new maps. If you thought the original 3 had little variation you are going to be very unhappy with this purchase. It is just more of the same. Yes there are new **** the hidden bosses are the same old **** the mechanics of the fighting and maps are the exact same as the others. With the exception of the giant on requiem of war (and chainsaw guy, both who can 1 hit kill you) the gameplay hasn't changed at **** use the same techniques you did on the enemies in the first 3 maps. You will notice that there are actually less people playing these maps than the original 3...which is to be expected. The community for mercs 6 isn't exactly dead, but don't expect to find a larger community playing these 'extra' maps. It leads to frustrating wait times for pug groups unless you play at the peak hours. Go on youtube check out the videos of people playing these maps and killing these **** J'avo you use the same coup de grace attacks, for zombies...countering. It's everything that was on the first 3 maps stretched super **** 5$. Even if you are a hardcore mercenaries player you don't need to buy this. This was a missed opportunity for capcom. At the end of the day this is something that should of been made free to begin with. I can't give this more than a 5/10. Sorry Capcom. Potential buyers, do proper research and know what you are buying ahead of time and you will end up what you payed for. This 5/10 is a subjective rating, others will think it deserves more, others less. I can't in all good faith give this a 6 or 7 out of **** was a wasted opportunity, and it's not something anyone 'needs' to buy to be even a hardcore mercenaries player. The map I've had the most fun with and seems relatively popular is rooftop mission. It is a very small map, so you will be fighting next to your partner most of the time if you play duo, making for some fun gameplay components. The only new enemy on this map are the 'severely weakened' chainsaw guys....even though there is only 1 'new' enemy, you aren't missing much from the other maps.

Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition9
May 11, 2013
If you have not played this game yet, and enjoyed resident evil 4. this game is for you. If you hated resident evil 4, you probably won't find much to like here. If you haven't played resident evil 4....I suggest you play it and then decide whether to upgrade to the next iteration. I fortunately (in this case), got a ps3 late in the game. Because of this I was able to pickup Resident evil 5 edition for 20$ cdn/us and Resident Evil 6 (it was on sale) for the same price at the same time! I kinda go hand in hand in comparing the two since I literally played RE5 to death and then reluctantly moved on to 6 when basically everything except the online trophy component had been done. Then I played 6 to death and have actually moved back to playing mercenaries on it after a break. Anyways back to RE5... This game has ALOT of content in it. I would probably be relatively bitter if I had picked up RE5 full priced when it was first released and dished out half of that price again for all the dlc. But for people like me, who missed out when it was first released....this is an absolute gem ****. A must buy for anyone who can appreciate it. If you are looking for horror kind of elements they are **** this is an action title like RE4. You might jump once or twice, but probably not. It's RE4 with a totally new and noteworthy storyline.....some of the best HD graphics you will see in a ps3/xbox360 console **** alot of love for fans of the series and newcomers alike.

Assassin's Creed III6
May 11, 2013
I would have originally given this game a 7/10 after having completed the main **** I chose to stick around and see all that this thing has to offer. It has ALOT of story content to offer you. And there is alot to do if you want that platinum trophy. The fact that the ps3 version has exclusive missions....I didn't even know what they were ...it didnt matter.. I finished the campaign thinking I would be able to have a fun time earning that platinum.....there was only misery. Exploring tunnels with glitchy puzzles....having to play mini-games that the ai makes perfect moves on. Having the "PLAY KING WASHINGTON BLAH LBHA BLAH" on the main menu and then having clicked on it only to discover I i would have to pay for it......disappointing. The online component.... disappointing. I can't see anyone spending money on such a thing. Getting full sync on some of the missions boils down to pure LUCK. I am not joking when I say that. I won't even grade the campaign story since this is my first entry in the **** even I could see the obviously holes....I feel sorry for the fans. Ship combat was one of the redeeming features of this **** was very well done and ALOT of fun. The other thing though to mention is the combat system in ac3. You willl read alot of reviews saying that it has been perfected. Honestly.....maybe it **** it doesn't matter! The combat itself is so easy in this game...there is no challenge ****'s just mashing two buttons to auto kill every enemy over and over again. Perfected? **** it sure isn't fun to be able to take down a million redcoats without breaking a sweat. You take down entire forts yourself in minutes....waltzing through the front door. There is no incentive to use stealth in this game. The times it has you use stealth are the most frustrating things **** can easily kill Everything in the **** they force you to sneak around and .....it was a giant headache. Alot fo content here for your **** so much is lacking here. The core of the game is just not fun. Playing for the platinum will only end in frustration. Playing for the story will end....probably badly for many fans. It's kind of weird how I could rate it as a 7/10 and then do the extra side missions and end up with a ****'s a slap in the face. There's no challenge here. There's so much wasted potential. If only they made the combat a little **** they put restrictions on everything in the game and it ruins what potential there is for fun.

Resident Evil 67
May 11, 2013
The poor average user score is due to the fact that this isn't the Resident Evil the old-school fans know and love anymore. It is an action game that retains a survival **** the horror aspect is all but gone. The game is a solid 7/10. It has flaws in the dialogue and story. But at the end of the day. I still feel the RE franchise has made a positive step story-wise and that there has been a positive improvement in the control scheme from 4 and 5. For $20 (or less) CDN/US this game was worth every penny. I would probably be a bit more bitter if I had of spent 50-69$ on this **** I paid a 1/3 of the price of regular newly released full title blockbuster games. I haven't bought all the dlc. Just the extra mercenaries maps for the $5 bundle. I wasn't overly impressed at **** if you enjoy the mercenaries 'enough' they can be worth the purchase. If you weren't a hardcore mercenaries fan to begin with, don't bother. I might say pickup rooftop, since it is a small and fun map. I'm still waiting hopefully for story based dlc like lost in nightmare and desparate escape. If you haven't played it already. You can pick up the gold edition of re5 for pretty much the same price or maybe cheaper. re5 gold edition was a solid 9/10.

Blade Kitten7
May 11, 2013
I just registered so I could dispel the crap reviews this game is getting. I am really fed up with reviewers right **** seems they can't seem to understand that in order to be a 'good' game it has to be 'fun' to actually play! All these reviews of **** cry 3 blood **** reboot etc etc. These may be solid games with solid gameplay and everything **** they weren't fun! Out of all the demo's I have downloaded off of psn blade kitten's was the only one that I actually enjoyed playing. And this demo was actually the longest one I've come **** by the end of it you actually have an idea if you are going to like the game or not. Now your going to hear all of these bad comments about the gameplay and the fighting **** regular crap people pick apart when reviewing a game. I downloaded the demo and for some reason a few days later I saw the game price dropped from $15 to $5 CDN/US. It wasn't even in the bargain **** didn't even say or indicate that the price was originally $15. FOR $5 there is a load of content here to enjoy. If you enjoyed the demo, you will enjoy the game. The game will offer you enough challenge with the enemies and ultimately.... a fun time! The demo enemies are easy once you learn their attack patterns and your own ****'s a tutorial level afterall! Know that the difficult scales appropriately after the demo content. This argument that the combat system is about spamming the attack button and for some enemies it's about hitting an extra block button in **** you can probably beat all the enemies hitting a combination of 2 **** you won't. You will be using all of Kit's special attacks...cause they are rewarding to do! The 2 button mechanic requires you to properly position yourself the same way against every enemy. Nobody would do this....especially when you can do it in a much more satisfying and quicker manner using the special moves! When all is said and done... Play the demo. For $5 this game is a steal. If you want a personalized review I'd rate it as probably an 7.5-8/10. The game has **** they aren't nearly as bad as every other bad review would have you believe.
