I waited a long time for this game and it was well worth it, although it didnt tick all boxes. Gameplay is perfect and very smooth, your equipment and playstyle is fully customizable and all missions can be approached from multiple angles. The story held up although it didnt have a big metal gear cinematic ending it was still satisfying. My only 2 gripes with the game are 1. Not being able to replay side missions 2. Losing the ability to use Quiet for no reason post game. For those 2 things it drops from 10 to 9 and i am a big metal gear fan, it held up well enough.

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen

Dragon's Dogma is a fantastic game, even without the Dark Arisen Add-On. Combat is fluid and feels very good, its as though you can feel the force being put behind the swing of a blade or the impact of an arrow. Movement is the same, traversing the wilderness or climbing places is always fun and rewarding. Enemy's stand out well and there is a good variety such as, Dragons (obv), Chimera, Griffins, Cyclops etc. and even more appear as you progress. when fighting a large enemy such as all those just mentioned, you have the ability to grab on and climb the beast to attack weak points which is such an awesome idea I've only ever seen in 'Shadow of Colossus'. The Pawn system is worth mentioning, you create a main pawn to begin with, which acts as your right hand man/woman. you can also search and hire up to 2 pawns from other players by searching for a pawn that suits you. The game is overall a pleasure to play, many hours of gameplay, lots of quests, the best loot system I have seen, pawns actually help out ALOT which is not always the case for followers in other games, the map is large and and different areas contrast well. If I had to change one thing... well I wouldn't change anything. A few more populated towns or cities would be nice but not needed. Everyone should give this game a go, I bought Dark Arisen for £3. hours of play for the price of a pint. cant complain.

This game looks stunning, the backgrounds are magnificent, especially when moving from different areas, it contrasts well. The combat system is top notch, very fluid and fast, you can use long-swords and normal swords which all hone different special abilities, and jumping around hacking your enemies to ribbons feels awesome, however there isn't a lot of enemy encounters to complement the action. There are tons of swords to forge for both characters, but not much of a variety in style, they all look different from one another but its either, a long or short sword, I was expecting more weapons such as pole arms, dual wield and other types of weaponry with different combos. Boss fights are the best thing about the game, they all have their own style of fighting and its fun to hack away at a big a$$ monster. Replayability is also a feature as there are many 'evil caves' that require high levels but not restricted, you can enter them at any level if your a skilled player but a bit of grinding is necessary and rather annoying, as I pointed out there are not enough enemy encounters, you can be running through 5 or 6 areas before a fight and it might just turn out to be a pheasant... Story was good but didn't seem interesting enough for me. Overall a great game that's worth playing a few times over, however there are things that could have been easily added to make the experience more exhilarating.

Best thing about this game is it still holds up in 2015. I've been playing recently and am really enjoying it. Its not your typical FPS, but leans more towards the stealth approach. I'm not sure if all versions of Dark Athena are the same but mine came with a Revamp of butchers bay which looks amazing, so there's 2 good length games here for a very cheap price nowadays. best thing is the game has its own story and that is why its so enjoyable, its not tied down to the movie script so there is a lot you wont be expecting when progressing the story. stealth mechanics are awesome in this game, stick to the shadows like Sam Fisher and lunge at your enemy before disappearing to find the next. This game for me, provided a fair challenge. Im not into rage games like Dark Souls but this wasn't the easiest game on normal difficulty so I enjoyed it for that. For me its a great first person stealth game with epic voice acting from vin diesel, and feels kind of like a more linear steampunky deus ex style fpsrpg.

Graphics are appalling, and the time its taken to make this is a joke for what you get. The new game modes are very good however not a lot of new features in-game that make it worth the price tag. I really am concerned about EA, they used to make brilliant games until the last few years. as apragmatist said, They better not mess up Star Wars Battlefront or I will be avoiding anything EA in the future. Awesome game that is much better than anything that came out after 2005. Cool levelling up system which lets you level up to your own play style, customization is massive, clothes, supers, ultimates, evasive moves, z souls.. its all here. New online features which let you team up with 1 or 2 other people to go on quests are a nice addition. there are also player battles and world tournament which you can do offline or online, but online is a much better experience. The main story is pretty good, its the original DBZ sagas but with a 'What If' theme. so what if freiza killed everyone, or what there were 3 Majin Buus. its a good twist which puts you in the boots of a time patroller, your role is to fix these broken timelines and save the Z Warriors and Earth. Overall a fun DBZ game that ive been waiting ages for. I still cant believe ultimate tenkaichi even exists. Thank god for Xenoverse 10/10

First off I want to say kudos to Acquire, by chance most games I've played recently are by Acquire and I haven't been let down yet. They did a great job with Shinobido 2 and brought back that classic Tenchu style gameplay along with some welcome new features. Put simply, this is Tenchu. from the movement of the character, to the grapple hook, you will see how alike the games are to one another. Your base of operation comes in the form of a menu, which allows you to change your loadout, upgrade your character, use alchemy to create new items, and most importantly embark on missions. a variety of missions keep the gameplay fresh for a while, but lack of environments (repeated maps) bore you easily if its graphics and landscapes your after. Maps are somewhat bigger than previous titles and graphical detail looks great on the Vitas screen. Overall I give it a 9, because of the nostalgia trip Tenchu fans with have, and because its the only game of its kind currently on the vita. a great addition to anyone's vita collection.

I was looking forward to a new DBZ game. budokai 2 + 3 are my personal favourites, followed by tenkaichi, so I was ecstatic when I heard there was an ULTIMATE Tenkaichi that I hadn't played. What a let down it was. The only thing I can compare it to is... nothing actually. gameplay reminded me mostly of tenkaichi with much better graphics, but there isn't really any skill involved. press melee attack and watch an animation similar to VIDEL RUSH! which only hits half the time. Ki blasts are cool and the counter system works well, but it doesn't feel challenging or fun at all. everything you do leads to an animation, and doesn't feel like your playing much. want to see your favourite character fight? press a button and watch a cutscene its that simple. simple and boring. flick the right analog in any direction to use a super and press it in for your ultimate. some might find this a nice intro to the DBZ gaming universe, but they would have to be easily pleased by repetitive animations. ill give it a 4 for the nice graphics overhaul and ki blast mechanics.

Ive been a fan of all the naruto games, but for some reason I haven't been pulled into this one as I thought I would. The main 'Campaign' lets call it, is somewhat boring. It gives different modes on fighting with up to 4 characters such as the goal to knock orbs out of another character and end up holding the most overall. This wasn't to my liking as there is a lot of running around and faffing between battles. The short story modes were pretty good, especially the forming of the akatsuki and shusui stories, but they are not long at all and you don't unlock many characters in the process. Gameplay mechanics when fighting are as good as ever, with the addition of choosing different fight styles when selecting a character. but all in all its rather repetitive and not a lot there to make you WANT to play more. unlocking character is as simple as earning a certain amount of money/ryo in free mode. but do you want to be spamming free mode fights to unlock mediocre characters? at least the abilitly to add accessories to a character is a welcome addition, such as giving kakashi cat ears and an apron. I give it an 8 because its great to play like all the others, and newcomers will enjoy it but for veteran players like me there just isn't enough. Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 is still top of the list for me. I would prefer a beefed up ninja storm 4 and wait an extra year than risk buying a low quality shadow clone like this in between.

I very much enjoyed WOTS 4. The best thing about the game is that your character houses styles and can change them when you please, unlike WOTS 3 where only the sword has a style and you have to play with the style equipped to the sword. The different areas of the game contrast nicely and still have a traditional Japanese feel to them, with the addition of western styled brick/stone buildings. The main feature on all WOTS games is the option to replay the game after dying or completing the story. Its done much better here, for example, you can run a dojo and recruit pupils which appear in your dojo. when restarting all these character will still be there and all you have to do is win the right to run the dojo again. my only gripe with this game is the smith.. He leaves after 4 days (or immediately if you do not pay him or you hurt him). You can recruit his apprentice, Dojima, but only within those first 4 days, and even when playing on easy early on its hard to obtain Dojima as the smith because he is rather strong. you will be playing small parts and restarting a bit just to upgrade your weapons to make longer playthroughs easier but once past this its much more enjoyable than WOTS 3. More decisions in game affect future playthroughs such as finishing the game while focusing on one faction means you next playthrough may affect that faction or its rival in a big or small way. If you enjoyed any other WOTS game then this is a must by, with some welcome new features, but with very few hit and miss ones too.

So far im about 5 hourss in and the game is pretty good so far. nicest graphics ive seen on the vita. crisp HD anime style graphics. The combat is what makes the game good. Ive heard alot of talk about the default controls being awkward, and tbh i havent found a problem with them yet. Im enjoying the customization with my character and Accessory, weapons are cool and the thorn reminds me of the Grapple gear on Attack on titan. Swinging around a large abductor on a thorn and slashing it to ribbons is the greatest feeling ive had on the vita so far! (apart from the Persona 4 experience ofcourse! ;) ) The only thing that drops it from a 10 to an 8 is the story. its well written but sometimes a bore when you need to progress in story to unlock more missions and items. This takes it away for me and makes it feel limited. more online play would be good too. matchmaking for some elimination missions against harder targets would be cool. Overall great game, with good grpahics, ok story, lots of customisation on weapons and characters. AND AWESOME COMBAT!!!! must buy for 99% of VITA owners, the other 1% are the noobs that only play fifa or black ops 2....

All these negative reviews are a mystery to me. I found Far Cry 4 to be a big step up from its predecessor. It uses all the good mechanics from Far Cry 3 and adds in more weapons, side quests, odd jobs and much more. The setting of Kyrat, is the best Far Cry landscape to me, locations are interesting, and getting around is a lot more fun as you can use a grapple to scale walls and mountains, different types of vehicles are available including the Buzzer (a basic gyrocopter). The main villain, Pagan Min, is awesome, calm and collective with ruthless ideals that he is not afraid to carry out. Not quite Vaas, but definitely my preferred antagonist. This is basically Far Cry 3 but everything is done better. Overall a great game with a very interesting storyline that some may find better or worse than Far Cry 3. Didn't experience any frame rate issues although the odd lag pops in rarely but understandable due to the immense scale of the map. Gameplay: 9/10, could have been more side missions (plenty of activities but too repetitive). Graphics: 8/10, graphics are on par if not a little better than Far Cry 3, very good for current gen. Storyline: 8.5/10, great storyline that most will love, but some will shunt when comparing to Far Cry 3. For PS3 this is an amazing game that everyone must give a go at some point regardless if you've played any others.

Storyline is the best I've played through on any and all of the assassins creed games. A much improved reboot of Black Flag, with a few new weapons and more interesting fictional and historical characters. The Storyline gives you some background info on the main protagonist, Shay Cormac, and this leads you into a gripping story that is... not very long to be honest. I was disappointed with the length of the story, although the 3 maps combined seem bigger than black flag, there's still a lot of collectables and side missions, but its the story that's filled with the high quality gameplay and storytelling that makes you want more. The new silenced rifle was a big treat, many different ammunition types that can be used for stealthy or aggressive missions. You also get a Sword and Dagger which are used together with the same move set as Edwards dual wield swords, which looks and feels good, but its a shame they didn't give Shay his own move set and animations. Most stuff is still here from black flag, but with different settings for each of the 3 areas that makes changing locations refreshing and less of an eye sore when travelling long distances on land or sea. Naval missions are also back with increased difficulty and a large set of upgrades including a fair amount of new, and old weaponry and defences. Overall its a game worth playing, but the story is cut short and Shay sometimes feels like Edwards clone when it comes to running, jumping, fighting and other repetitive animations. Storyline: 8/10 (The most gripping but lacks length) Graphics: 8/10 (On par with Black Flag so nothing too special, but new locations look nice) Gameplay 7.5/10 (brilliant new weaponry and naval upgrades but copied character animations doesn't make it feel new)

This game is not as bad as people make out. Short game? yes. maybe because you are actually meant to play the game several different ways! On your journey you plot your path on a map, using a high, medium, or low fuel consumption, and you are given the option to stop and scavenge locations along the way., (e.g. use low fuel by taking a backroad, but have less to scavenge.) You will be dropped off at points like farmhouses and small villages, to scavenge for weapons, fuel and ammo. Once in each main mission area, there more supplies to scavenge and survivors to reccruit, do a simple fetch quest and they will join your team, completing the game with a certain survivor/s will give you perks on your next playthrough, such as stronger melee, better sneaking or even infinite ammo. each survivor gives you a different perk. These help greatly on your second playthrough. you can take all alternate roads and have a near different game (although with the same story). The best part of the game is the voice acting. Norman Reedus and Michael Rooker voice their characters(Daryl and Merle), and its interesting to see how the apocalypse started for Daryl. Daryls in game animations and quotes fit perfectly for how he acts in the series, his silent takedown feels very much... Daryl like. Shooting is fun, although its better if you have the silenced weapons perk from saving a specific survivor. Daryls crossbow is also fun to use, although it should have came earlier in the game. Melee weapons are used as primary, although you could probably only manage to fend off 3 walkers with a hammer, as the animation times are sluggsh, and it takes 3 - 4 hits to the head for a walker go down. I does have a walking dead feel to it, and i like the choices you can make, although there are only 3 or 4 zombie models to see, and walkers often appear on a path you have cleared and leave you wondering how there appeared in that kitchen when all doors were closed behind you. Its a great first person zombie survival game in which you can use stealth, brute force, run and hide, or dodge every walker, if you can master the stamina consumption. Different ways to play give you a good sense of choice and adventure, but underlying, problems suchs as unrealistic damage, zombie clones and a story that is lacking, hinder the gameplay. Oh i forgot graphics! maybe because i didnt notice them to be good or bad. The graphics are standard. Overall I enjoyed the game, i picked it up preowned for £10 and wasnt dissapointed.

Being a fan of the PS2 (EU) version of Canis Canem Edit, and having 100% completed it, i thought i would dive back into the world of Bullworth Academy and see what the scholarship edition has to offer. The first thing i noticed were the graphics, they have been improved since the previeous gen version and look more colorful and vibrant. textures are alot better and overall characters, and enviroments look more detailed and presentable. Gameplay is pretty much the same, with 4 added classes to unlock extra clothing content, these include, Maths, Geography, Biology and Music. There are also 8 new missions which act as more of a filler rather than an extension of the story. This is an excellent game, i just wish they included a few extra weapons and vehicles. Overall you are getting a great game with updated graphics, a few new missions, classes and an improved cast of the most bizzare characters you will ever see in gaming. The original deserves a 10/10 and also this, but because there are still littles things they could have done to improve it further i will settle for an 9/10.

I have put about 5 - 6 hours in and am still not sure about it myself... I haven't got far at all but I have played enough to realise why it is liked. A good sense of achievement after tough fights pushes you to go on even further, and the combat is great too! Lots of classes to choose from but most are for experienced players and not recommended for newbies. My main problem with the game is how unfair it is. I didn't just pick it up with no knowledge about it, I have many games for most consoles and consider myself an avid collector/ gamer. I knew the game would be hard, and its not that which puts me off... Enemies pushing you off cliffs, backstabbers and losing your souls every time you die is what grinded my gears. Honestly I was planning to play more but just wasn't interested in going back after I left It a few days. Most gamers will enjoy this for its sense of achievement and great combat system, but personally I didn't find it as enticing as you guys. 6/10 because it was good for the most part, but I probably wont play it again for a while.

I think the world setting is excellent, with great gothic/anime style themes and characters. Graphics are presented well for the Vita, despite what others say. Starting off is a bit slow but, after an hour or so you will be thrown into the world of Carceron prison with much to see and do. There is tons of equipment to buy and sell, with endless party member customization options. you can always edit a party members, look, class, skills, and personality at a clinic after recruiting or creating them. Combat is easy to get the hang of, although grinding is essential in this game. you can shop, recruit, and accept quests from either the lower slums, or the light district. You will want to start doing your business in the lower slums, as the most unique feature of the game seems to be 'swooning' female characters and paying them a sort of toll before being able to buy their upper class items, and you will soon be seeing your hard earned wonga wisp away. Give the girls gifts and you can play 'sexytime' mini games which are not too exciting. overall the game is good with lots of different elements that make the world interesting. If you don't mind grinding in-between quests (which is actually rather rewarding) you will love this game. one notable fault is the online, I haven't been able to find someone to fight online so far, hopefully critics stop shunting games like this and actually play it before they post their opinions. Not for everyone but definitely a hidden gem for the VITA console. I

If like me you are a big Metal Gear fan you will know this is just a prologue for the Phantom Pain, being released next year. The game revolves around a military base and includes a good length main mission (ground zeroes) and 5 Side ops. Graphics are incredible and feel next gen even when playing on a PS3 or XBOX360. Gameplay has surpassed any other stealth game as you really need to think about what your doing if you don't want to be caught. For example, find a vantage point, scope the base with your binoculars, mark enemies, and find a suitable approach. Movement feels very smooth and realistic. There are endless routes to and from your objectives that you can take, and enemy patrols feel the most life-like I have seen. For £20 I was left wondering if this game was worth the price. It most certainly was, I have put several hours in, doing normal and hard difficulties and trying to unlock the secret playable characters. Although mechanics have changed to make engagements more enjoyable (I am always tempted to spray down a patrol walking towards my cover) IT IS A STEALTH GAME. You can finish the main mission in half hour this way but if you take the stealth approach, you will spend more time enjoying your playthrough. on top of the sides missions I have played for about 4 hours so far and only just touched the 40% completion mark. DONT LISTEN TO NEGATIVE REVIEWS. These people either don't know what they are playing, or have received an MGS disk in their FIFA15 case. I didn't have high hopes for this considering its price tag but I was left more than satisfied. In fact I was almost sexually satisfied after just the main mission. MGS is only getting better.

Being a big Hitman fan, I was ecstatic when I got this game. The Graphics have improved greatly and makes the game feel a lot smoother. Items around the world are interactive, anything with a sharp edge e.g. knives, screwdrivers, axes, can be thrown from a distance for a silent kill and mugs and other miscellaneous items can be used for distractions. Shooting is a lot better than previous games, and the ability to tag multiple enemies for quick executions like in Splinter Cell Conviction has been introduced. The disguise ability feel slightly different, instead of acting suspicious to break disguises now it feels more like a time limit when walking past an enemy in disguise. This can be frustrating when on harder difficulties as it feel like everyone already knows your face. Some levels feel linear but most have a big open space, although I would have liked more missions, probably because I am used to the game, experienced players may find the game too short. The best thing about the game is the story, now 47 is independent, making his own rules and taking his own path. Amazing plot line with twists and epic Hitman moment, plus an amazing ending which will leave you pondering. Overall not the best Hitman game, but definitely one of the best stealth games of its generation.

The story of the game revolves around the events that unfold in season 1, it is put together well and the outcome is an amazing story that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Gameplay is somewhat average, involving a basic cover to cover stealth system, and very simplistic fighting mechanics. It was nice to hear the dubbing done by most of the original actors, but characters seemed too lifeless. You will often see scenes from the series play out in-game and realise that you are sometime a cause of those events or deal with the aftermath. Its such a pity that we haven't seen another budokai style fighting game since the PS2. it feel like these games are being whipped up too quickly without consideration of what us, the users want. Side missions are kind of irrelevant as I only did the mandatory side quests involved in a couple main missions. The gameplay.. The overall movement, melee, hacking and shooting mechanics feel great, but the upgrade system feels a bit off. Most upgrades don't entice you to work toward them, and you will have to buy useless abilities to advance the tree to the next one. There could be more abilities and hack upgrades than there are, considering it took 5 years to develop and was still put on hold shortly before its release date came. Overall I rate this game 7/10. good story. average gameplay. too many uninteresting side missions and abilities. Not what it was hyped up to be, but not bad at all.

Also if you didn't get the chance to play the 'Substance' Version of MGS2 you can now play all the VR missions and Snake Tales that were included, along with the theatre mode (hilarious to change the ninja to an old office lady and see her jumping around the place). Overall my favourite HD remake, contains a lot of extra content including the Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 NES games. Must Buy!

Great game series for newcomers and previous fans of the series, the vita version Is not HD like other collections, although having these 3 games on the go is great! The precursor legacy has little problems apart from the odd frame rate issue here and there, which is not noticeable once you have passed the tutorial. however the frame rate is at its lowest in Jak II when roaming the city. while out of the city I saw no notable problem while playing, and due to the smaller sections in Jak III there is less to render therefore the framerate is not really an issue. Overall great game.
