Simply put, this is the exact median between Dear Esther and The Dark Decent. I went into this game expecting a campy storyline with some great scares, but what I got instead was the most unsettling game I have ever played. Surprisingly enough, for how amazing of a plot this game has (as pretentiously metaphorical it can be sometimes), there's very few plot holes and the level design is near perfect despite it being so incredibly linear. I have no problem with that, as I know that linear gameplay is the best way to tell a story. The writing is great, the voice acting is top notch (despite some cheap sound effects), and the atmosphere is PERFECT. The graphics are also fantastic despite having indie origins. The plot lays out like Bioshock, which also means it has pacing issues. Also, the inconsistency of the enemy encounters is noticeably annoying, but the encounters it does have are BLISTERINGLY intense. Way more frightening than anything in the first game.

Brilliant and addicting. The sense of humor is there, the campaign (both singleplayer and multi) are absolutely flawless, and co-op/versus are a blast. AI is kind of dull, however and provide no true challenge.

This game can run on a surprisingly large range of computer types, making it very accessable. As a result, there are many servers to run on, and this game is addicting. The humor style is great, the fanbase/community is great, and the entire game is just a joy to play no matter how much you **** at it.

Although the lanscaping is much better and there's lots of CS to find and use, this series didn't make nearly as smooth of a transition from 2.5D to 3D than it could have because they wanted RCT2/1 tracks to work in this game too. It hinders the gameplay, but the graphics, scenerio system, community, and customization have all been improved. Nevertheless, the first two games didn't really need these improvements, so it only gets an 8, whereas RCT2 got a 10 from me.

One of the last good games published by EA before the next-gen consoles rolled around and shoved multiplayer and DLC down our throats. Fantastic soundtrack, fair gameplay, great terraforming controls, unlimited possibility... this game has it all in terms of simulations.

This game is okay and all, but a 99/100? Really? I don't think it deserves that. As with most games on the n64, the graphics and gameplay haven't aged well at all, and although it is a good game expirence, the replay value just isn't there. I think that Majora's Mask was a much better sequel, but how did that score 4 entire points lower than this? Unless you have some sort of rabies for nostalgia, don't bother with this; skip straight to better titles like Banjo-Kazooie or Conker's Bad Fur Day.

A very well thought-out stealth-action title, but the plot tries to cram in way too many characters to make it interesting. As with many series (I'm looking at you, Resident Evil and MLP), this is another where they've included too much fanservice to the point where it hinders the series. The gameplay is certainly there, but it still wasn't as good as Arkham Asylum. Another point to add is that this game tries too hard to be an open-world game, but it doesn't feel complete like games such as Oblivion and Fallout 3 did. It comes across to me as more of an Assassin's Creed II style game. It would have played much better linear, more like what Asylum did. Also, the game doesn't seem to add too many new mechanics to the game, and it doesn't feel quite like a true sequel and more like a spinoff.

This game features a great narrative with some tense moments and great voice acting. It's a great revival for the Point-n-Click Adventure genre, and its transition to the PS3 was smoother than expected. The game does feel kind of slow and unfair at times, but the impactful and emotional moments that all five episodes have to deliver are more than enough to make up for that.

Game companies love to try and mix irregular genres together every once and a while, and when Re-Logic tried it out, I was pleasantly surprised to see that it worked. Terraria is somewhat of a platforming-sidescrolling-sandbox-RPG, with a great balance of all three genres. I know this game gets a bit of hate for being a "2-D ripoff of Minecraft", but when you take into account how much more this game is combat/RPG focused than MC is, I think it makes a better stand-alone game. Mods aren't required to make it fun, and this game has much better online PVP from what I've noticed. Think of it as Contra-meets-Minecraft-meets-Just Cause 2.

I'll admit that Minecraft is a generally enjoyable game, but as a standalone title, it's a little underwhelming. The game almost relies on mods to stay interesting, whereas the base game honestly gets old pretty fast. The singleplayer "campaign" is rather dull, but the game's redemption comes into the light with the multiplayer avaliable. Plenty of servers are up 24/7, and I personally know 3 people who own their own. However, servers are still only interesting with mods, and as a base game, there's only so much you can do. In terms of standalone games, I'd recommend Terraria much more. However, if you're willing to put up with the installation of 30+ mods just to make the game better, I'd recommend this.

This easily stands among games like HL2 and BioShock for being the greatest FPS of all time. The original Halo game was better on the PC than the Xbox, but it's a great game either way with lots of surprising plot twists within an engaging plot. I love the level design, the brilliant AI, the originality, almost everything about this game is perfect. I only have one complaint, and that's that the gameplay towards the end of the game can feel a bit repeditive.

Sure the graphics are shiny and the gunplay is smooth, but other than that, this game has little appeal to me. The multiplayer is unforgiving to newcomers, the campaign is short (Heroic with no skulls on took me only about six hours for the first playthrough), and although the story is emotional at times, the plot was overall rather dull and uncaptivating. Don't buy this game, just rent it or play it at your friend's house. Still worth a playthrough, though.

I was a big fan of Revenge and Takedown, but I feel as though EA has pulled a "Capcom" and tried to do an unnecessary revamp of their old series. The lack of loading screens is awesome, which means the gameplay doesn't stop for a second, but I feel as though the game has lost its multiplayer edge due to the lack of split screen and the removal of crash parties, which in my opinion, was the most fun part of Revenge. The open world is a rather ingenious addition to a racing game, and although I admit it works and it is a joy to play at times, it feels as though several events from the previous games have been dulled down to fit into the open world. Again, good game, definitely recommendable, but I would like it much better with crash parties and split screen.

Although I hate to say the plot isn't as engaging as it could be, the gameplay is ultra smooth and fair, leading to some of the most intense stealth missions in any game I've ever played. I wasn't even that big of a fan of the Batman universe, and I had a blast with this game. It perfectly blends puzzles, side quests, stealth, and a bit of open world RPG qualities. It's a very unique game and in my opinion better than Arkham City.

Keep in mind, everyone: This game is DIFFERENT, NOT WORSE compared to the original n64 and PS1 Resident Evil games. Compared to its previous games, yes, the game is starkly different from the original, but games are SUPPOSED to evolve. Nobody seemed to complain when the Halo series turned into a gonzo-action-movie-blockbuster style game after the first two games, so why would you complain about this? Face it, it's a good game; at least from a technical aspect. The graphics are lifelike, the gunplay is smooth and fair, the difficulty curve is spot on, the character models are well thought out as are their animations, and the multiplayer is surprisingly good. I enjoyed this game through and through, and although it's not a perfect game, it's definitely among my favorite games of 2012. For all of you 90's Capcom fans out there, just pretend you're not playing a Rezzy game and you'll enjoy it. Definitely worth $40.

I was a bit of a fan of the console versions of Assassin's Creed II, and when I saw this at the game store, I thought it would be a neat sequel with some gimmicks. I underestimated this game: It has great voice acting (Escpecially for a DS game), ingenious combat, great platforming, and the entire game is rather long and has perfect pacing... Not to mention some of the best looking visuals I've seen on a DS. The only problem I can think of with this game is that the platforming sometimes seems repedetive, but for me that's easily overshadowed by the combat, which for me was the highlight of the game. It has a great stealth mechanic that plays like, if not better than, the console versions. It's probably the best a 2d stealth game gets.

I'm shocked that this game only has a user score of 6.6 because it deserves a score of at least an 8. The visuals are great, the level editor is easily the best I've ever seen in a console exclusive, and the entire game has this really great sense of joy to it while playing that very few other games can offer. The online play is actually rather smooth, which is a surprise to me. The level editor is a blast to mess around with, and it often feels like a 2.5D version of Garry's Mod, which was a huge turn-on for me. Not to mention the soundtrack is superb and all of the levels are expertly crafted. The game never once feels unfair.

It's an interesting concept with some good level design and visuals, but the plot never really took off with me. I'm not going to say it was bad, but it was a boring game at times and the combat wasn't as smooth as it could have been. It's a 6.8 in my books, but I had to round up to 7.

This game is easily among the greatest FPS games of all time, and it's certainly my favorite. The concept is intriguing, the atmosphere is spot on, the gunplay is unique with the addition of Gene Tonics and Plasmids, the voice acting is brilliant, the characters are well-developed, the setting has a very well-thought-out backstory, and the plot is superb. Although the game does have its framerate tanks and backtracking, the plot more than makes up for that with spectacular plot turns and twists. I won't spoil the game for you, but BioShock has the best plot twist of any game... Ever. That alone would put the game on my top ten, but the rest of the game's great qualities puts it at my #1 spot.
