G-G-G-G-G-G- G-UNIT! Super excited I finally got a chance to check this out from beginning to end. It’s been over 16 years since the initial release of blood on the sand and the game has seen an explosion in demand/pricing in a post-COVID world. I debated on purchasing a copy when prices were hovering around $70USD fora CIB copy but rejected the idea after a while hoping maybe it would dip in price. THAT definitely didn’t happen. Fast forward a year or so and I finally bit the bullet and shelled out over $100 for a CIB copy in great shape. From the very beginning the game seems like a solid shooter which it proves to be. What I found really fun and sort of nostalgic about it is it basically functions like an Army of Two game (with a lot more curse words). Im a big fan of the Army of Two series so I felt right at home. The AI companion feels pretty lively throughout combat and actually helps eliminate enemies and complete challenges. Sometimes the dialogue gets repetitive but the gameplay is pretty fun! Blood on the Sand is a fun & solid third person shooter. The campaign is a little short and leaves more to be desired but the replay value is there should you enjoy it. Unlockables galore from guns to takedowns, and taunts- you need the in-game money to acquire these and you can obtain most of them by a second or so play-through. All in all I enjoyed 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand and would definitely recommend it if you’re fond of fast paced - third person shooters. It holds its own 16 years later and although it will probably never happen - it would be cool to see a 50 Cent: threequel released to complete a 50 cent trilogy or maybe even a remaster of Bulletproof as well as Blood on the Sand. Almost 20 years ago the Transformers hit the big screen and I remember it vividly. I don’t know why this game seem to have slipped past me for the last 18 years but here I am, in 2025 - with a story mode completion. Overall I’d say the game has its enjoyable moments and some really dull moments - the combat can be very, very repetitive. Some of the combat requires you to pick up items in order to fight back - this can be a huge drag. The grapple system is probably one of the worst if not the worst thing in the game. Very, very clunky. There is a lot of clunkiness to the movements/fighting as well. However, some of the transformations into land and air vehicles are fantastic! The voice acting is awesome. Flying vehicles definitely steal the show - but they feel very boxed into a small sandbox environment and leave more to be desired. There are quite a few bugs and glitches that can be frustrating to get around. The overall finished product feels slapped together and rushed. A good little game to play if you’re curious and like beat-em-up style gameplay. Hopefully the devs improved upon this game with the sequel Revenge of the Fallen. I will be checking that out next to compare!

Where do we begin? Batman Vengeance in 2024 is still great fun that holds the test of time 23 years after its initial release in 2001. I absolutely adored this game as a kid, playing for hours, and have very fond memories of many of the games sequences. This was my generations “Arkham” series game. Before Spider-Man 2 (2004) changed the landscape of super hero games, Batman Vengeance was the absolutely best in the business. From today’s point of view, the gameplay and (lack of) camera control can feel slightly clunky but remains very smooth throughout. This being the only drawback for me in the entire game. For a video game that was produced between 1999-2000… this has got to be the “GTA”, gold standard of super hero games - for its time of course- until Spider-Man 2 took the world by storm in 2004. It’s fun to play - hard to put down actually, loaded with action, seamlessly transition from third person to first person when needed, Bat gadgets galore, Bat plane, Batmobile, grapple, fly around with your cape, beat the snot out of henchmen, dive off of structures to rescue the innocent, brain teaser puzzles, and more! There are so many reasons to absolutely adore this game - for something that was released in 2001 it holds up amazingly well even now in almost 2025. There are so many games from the PS2/Xbox/GameCube era that deserve a remaster and this is definitely one of them. I would pay full retail on my Series X for a remaster. Batman games are typically a treasure, and Batman Vengeance has got to be top 5- if not Top 3 of all time. Thanks for reading.
