House Flipper

-Quick Review- House Flipper is a singleplayer simulation game where you’ll do various jobs for customers until you have enough money to buy houses, clean and fix them up, and sell them for a profit, thus “house flipping”. House Flipper was developed by Empyrean and released in 2018. -Detailed breakdown review-Story: House Flipper doesn’t have a story in a literal ****’re NOT playing as “Karl Von Houseflipper”, who’s just bought a shack in the middle of Ohio City, OH and his dream since the day his family immigrated from Transylvania was to someday make it rich by doing small jobs for neighbors like setting up radiators, painting living rooms, cleaning up garages, and eventually owning cleaning up and and selling property until he can retire at Kame House. That’s NOT the story in house flipper. But wouldn’t it be great if it was?No, the only type of “story” you’ll get will be the flavor text you see before you take a client’s job or buy a property. I did intentionally do every job in the game EXCEPT for setting up heating units in some jerk’s house because he demanded it in a rude way, and let’s be real, I’m my own boss in this power fantasy, he can just sit in the cold or pay someone else. …but I did set up his dumb heaters at the end of the game to get 100% completed. I wasn’t happy about doing it though. I hope he got pneumonia from the lack of heating leading up to me doing the job. Gameplay: Are ya ready for the gameplay loop? First, you’ll have some jobs to do to get enough money to buy properties… These jobs will prepare you for the rest of the game and could almost be considered tutorial-esk… but I’d rather think of them as “On-the-job ****’ll assemble heating units, clean windows, pick up garbage, paint walls, demolish walls with a big hammer, build new walls, buy and position furniture, water fixtures, and more… especially more if you end up buying any of the DLC.Once you get enough money you can buy houses, you’ll do everything you did in the private jobs, but this time without a checklist of what needs to be done. The “Game” element is in putting furniture and decorations into the home to attract prospective buyers.Want to get the family of 17 to buy your house? Lots and lots of bedrooms. Want the hipster to buy it? No toys, only one bedroom. Want the arty girl or grandparents interested in your house? Put up pictures on the walls. Everyone’s got stuff they like or dislike and you try to tailor the house towards those buyers to maximize profits when you put the house up for **** problem with this system is I quickly switch from “Oh! I’m going to make this place look nice”, to “Okay, to maximize interest, I’m going to put in 6 of these ugly WALL CUBBY BOOKSHELVES… AGAIN” Conclusion: On the whole, I liked playing House Flipper. It was significantly easier and faster to clean up a space than Viscera Cleanup Detail. Unfortunately, since it’s only single player you’re not going to chill with friends, but you can still get that cathartic experience you’d get from a “cleaning game”.Some people will jell with House Flipper and love it, some people won’t. I’m not sure where that line is… maybe if you’re looking for a multiplayer game vs a singleplayer game… or on the difficulty of the game, house flipper is really easy. But I think the process and spectacle of “cleaning” isn’t quite as strong as Viscera Cleanup Detail, or Power wash simulator either. Somewhere between these different games it’ll scratch that itch for you… if you even have that itch in the first place! …If you want to know more, please check out my YouTube Video on House Flipper!

Cuphead

Sep 19, 2026
-Quick Review-Cuphead is a 2d “Run and Gun” where the first thing you’ll want to do is rebind your shoot button to something you can hold down at all times, so you can gun while you run. Then you will proceed to get beaten up by the various colorful bosses and enemies until you learn the attack patterns well enough to pass the level and move on to the next level. I felt like I ran into a brick wall until I slowly knocked each brick out and was able to limp through to introduce my face to the next wall.Cuphead was developed by Studio MDHR Entertainment Inc and released in 2017. It’s absolutely insane that the developers took the time to make the game using “traditional methods” by HAND drawing then water coloring and having their own jazz recording. But that’s what takes Cuphead from being merely a good “run and gun” game and boosts it to an inspiring work of video game art. -Detailed breakdown review-Story: Our protagonists are Cuphead and Mugman. Apparently, they didn’t learn the lesson “gambling ****”, and the more important rule regarding gambling which is “The house always wins”. Well, Cuphead and was on a hot streak, and made a deal with the literal Devil. The foolish little Cup got greedy and of course the dice were loaded so he lost the bet, and now you gotta help Cuphead and Mugman collect the “Soul contracts” from all the different zany characters so that the Devil will spare them. Gameplay: Cuphead is hard, but the controls are simple, movement to the right or the left, duck by pressing down, aim up by pressing up, jump, shoot, charged, shot, switch weapon, aim mode and a dash button. the most technical part of cuphead is the parry which is used on “pink” attacks/enemies/particles. The User Interface is simple too in the bottom left you have your hit points and the status of your charged shot.I would say there are 3 game modes: Brawls, Airplane Mode, and lastly Run and Gun. The brawls are the easiest to explain, normal controls, you carefully watch the boss to see what move they’re going to use and then dodge, think “Mega Man or Sonic the hedgehog boss fight” without the rest of the **** Airplane game mode is different, because you move around 2d space as an airplane this game mode feels more like a side scrolling shoot-em-up or a bullet hell. Your charge shot changes, you don’t have any charms or shot customizations, you do have a choice between shooting regular straight shot, or lobbing bombs which will arc down from your character. You also have a shrink move which shrinks your hitbox making you harder to hit… but also decreases how far your shots travel, so it’s a risk/reward kind of move.Lastly the Run and Gun modes, which you do just that, run through a level to get to the end. Lots of different smaller enemies will drop in on you and respawn, so don’t get too comfortable staying in one place to wait and think. There are coins in the run and gun game mode which you can collect to buy equip able weapons and abilities from “Porkrind's Emporium”. Conclusion: I really like Cuphead on several levels. The gameplay is a bit tougher then I’d prefer… however without that difficulty you could blow through the game in a couple hours, so I understand how you can get really hooked on getting good at Cuphead… especially if you invest the time to really learn the attack patterns and what cues to watch **** that’s about the worst I can say about cuphead. The music is really freaking classy. The old 1940’s cartoon style is *chef’s kiss*. If you’re good at 2d platformers, run and gun games, probably a lot of old classic retro console game skill would apply here. If you’re good at those I think you’re in for a real treat with Cuphead! I’ll just conclude this review by saying we’re lucky to be living in the timeline where we got such a great game! …There's more to the review, If you want to know more, please check out my YouTube Video!

Star Wars Episode I: Jedi Power Battles Remaster

Sep 8, 2026
-Quick Review-Let me take you back to my Childhood when you only had enough money to buy a few video games, and you cherished those games above all your other worldly possessions. The Play Station Greatest Hits: Star Wars Jedi Power Battles was one of those few beloved possessions.STAR WARS: Episode I: Jedi Power Battles was originally developed by Lucas Arts and released in 2000, but has since been “remastered” by Aspyr and rereleased in 2025. -Detailed breakdown review-Story: The story for STAR WARS: Episode I: Jedi Power Battles follows the 1999 film Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. Big shocker there for you, I know. The clue was in the games obnoxiously long title. For the sake of simplicity, I’m just going to call it “Jedi Power Battles” from here **** select your character, battle off the Trade Federation Battleship after the Neimoidians try to poison gas you out, fight through Naboo, pit stop on Tatooine, get tossed off the ledge on Corescant, go back to Naboo, and get your butt kicked by Darth **** this point all I can say is “sorry for kinda spoiling Star Wars Episode 1 for you”, This was a really weird time in video game history (particularly Lucas Arts Games) because we got Star Wars Games which were basically “play the game which follows the movie beat for beat”. In hindsight it’s just kinda odd… but as a kid I didn’t care about that, I wanted to be a Jedi. Wave my hand and watch battle droids fall over! Gameplay: It has been decades since I played this bad boy on the Play Station 1, and this port feels like it hasn’t aged a day. Slight improvements on the graphics, add in some extra silly peripherals, Darth Maul still **** eggs and the only way I beat him is by selecting Pepper Jack or Mozzarella CHEESE.Jedi Power Battles is a 3d platformer Beat-em-up. You’ll probably want to play this with a controller, I couldn’t bring myself to try it with a keyboard… but I can report to you that it works great on the Steam Deck! The controls are: Directional Movement, Fast Attack, Medium/ Flourish Attack(?), Heavy Attack, (aka attack 1, 2, 3… catchy name controls menu) Jump, Block, use item, and use the Force. If you time your block right you’ll return Blaster bolts to their sender. Combo’s will use any mixture of button presses, ranging from as simple as spamming fast attack repeatedly, or as complicated as incorporating heavy, fast, and then sometimes the block button… I don’t use that combo. After you finish a level your points are tallied up and you get rewarded new combo’s and powers. The game gives you tons of combo attacks to play around with, however my young brain only did the same button press again, and again, and again. Mace Windu's fast attack same button combo was an instant classic and so Mace Windu also became my favorite character at the **** can also just run and avoid combat, but those are extra experience points which would be added up for bonus powers for the Jedi you’re playing as… At the end of the level you have a boss fight. Returning back to this game I really like how varied the different levels appear. The music can definitely get repetitive, but on the whole Jedi Power Battles seems to play nearly EXACTLY how it felt to play as a kid. Along with the janky parts like the 3d platforming which I could understand if people dislike. This was a PS1 and Dreamcast game after all, they were still figuring out 3d platforming back then. The best tip I can give you, is watch your characters shadow when you jump, that’s how you know where you’ll land. Conclusion: If it wasn’t already obvious to you, I really love this game. Loved playing it as a kid; loved going back to it as an adult and having an excuse to snag some digital swag in Steam Achievements. I think nearly anyone who played the original will be more than happy with this remaster (There’s always some people out there who don’t though, so I won’t speak for them).Jedi Power Battles is a game from the past, dug up and presented to us today. If you’ve never played it, chances are *YOUR* opinion of the game is more useful then mine, but hopefully this review has been entertaining at least. …There's more to the review... -Quick Review- Bronzebeard’s Tavern is a cooperative multiplayer tavern simulator developed by Mermaid MenZ Games Limited and released in 2023. It’s the type of game where you wrangle up some friends, scramble around the Tavern until you and you all figure out how to coordinate well enough that you come together as a cohesive team… or at least you just have an entertaining hectic game session with your friends. -Detailed breakdown review-Gameplay: There are two phases of gameplay: The Preparation phase, and The Open for Business phase. Before you start taking in customers, you can take your time, look at the type of customers you’ll have when you open the tavern, you can add and remove menu items, and order food supplies. This is the planning phase, you can even cook and brew menu items early. When you’re ready, you open your tavern for business. Now we’re on the clock, there’s a literal timer for how long the day is going to last. You'll greet guests at the front desk, bring them to a table, pick up their order, place their order on the line, make their desired menu item, and then deliver it to them. There are several “timers” going on at the same time: you need to shovel coal into the hearth to “keep the lights/energy/ovens on”, you need to get orders and then bring the food for your customers before their patience timer runs out. And of course, you need to accomplish all this before the tavern’s open status runs out and it **** can play Bronzebeard’s Tavern on your own, but I think this game is much better experienced with friends. As a solo player you feel spread a bit too thin, I'd find myself thinking "if only someone could wash the dishes and greet guests while I run around preparing food and keeping the hearth up!". Instead while I was playing on my own I found myself cutting corners with menu items, leaving people in the line outside the tavern while taking care of the customers I had and just being extra conservative on buying upgrades so I didn't run out of money. Conclusion: I like Bronzebeard’s Tavern. I’d like to buy a Mead there and relax. How could I complain about a FREE Fantasy Tavern simulator? Sure, we ran into some latency and connectivity issues. But on the whole, I enjoyed this game. It was a fun short little romp I can easily recommend to play with friends… just not any friends who don’t have very fast internet or might be located on the other side of the world. ...If you want to know more, please check out my YouTube Video!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate

User ScoreAtratzu
Aug 25, 2026
TMNT Splintered Fate is a fun 4 player co-op Action Roguelite developed by Super Evil Megacorp and released in 2024. Do you want to play a game which feels kinda similar to those old arcade cabinets with 3 other friends? Do you like the Color Blue, Red, Yellow, or Purple? Most importantly, what are your opinions on Turtles? Story: One beautiful day in the sewers of NYC, Master Splinter was kidnapped by Shredder. There ya go. What, did you need more of a plot device than that? Back in my day we saved princesses from Turtles, and accepted swords from strange old men! There really isn’t much to say about the story, it’s as simple as I said, “Master Splinter was kidnapped by Shredder”, there’s a bunch of portals appearing all over the place and now the Turtles Donatello, Leonardo, Michealangelo, and Raphael are scouring the sewers, streets, and rooftops of New York City trying to find ‘em. Gameplay: To me the gameplay of Splintered Fate felt like a mashup between Hades gameplay, and playing an arcade beat ‘em up played from an isometric camera view. You can play solo, local or online cooperatively.First choice is between one of the four Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Each turtle plays just slightly differently from each other. While each turtle has a slightly different loadout with ninja tool and stat bonuses, not all of the turtles play equally, Raph is definitely the easiest, Mikey second easiest, then Leo and Donie for more challenging runs. Each run will be slightly different in its layout, mini bosses you encounter and the types of upgrades/powers you get for your turtle. After clearing an area, you’ll get a choice between getting a Ninja Power, a ninja tool, a temporary boon, and/or a bonus currency for buying upgrades on that run or buying permanent upgrades after the run is finished to make future runs easier. Conclusion: In conclusion… If you're looking for an EPIC roguelite, I would suggest checking out Hades from Supergiant games. If you’re looking for a 4 player co-op roguelite to play with friends, TNMT Splintered Fate is pretty easy to recommend too.I enjoyed playing Splintered Fate. It's the closest thing I’ve played to a modern arcade beat ‘em up game in a long time, bonus points for having tight controls, a similar power system to hades, and the “roguelite” genre keeping each play session interesting. …There's more to the review... GRIS

-Quick Review-Gris is a beautiful artistic 2d platformer indie game developed by Nomada Studio and released in 2018, where you play as a lost girl named Gris who is dealing with a painful experience in her life. The story description is left vague because there’s no dialogue of any kind and the story is told with music and imagery. -Detailed breakdown review-Story: As has already been said, the story for Gris is told without dialogue, without narration, without text. Another strength of this style of storytelling in this way is that it becomes universally accessible regardless of your spoken language.Gris (the lost girl) has had her world **** by some traumatic life event. The visuals are obviously meant to be interpreted metaphorically. The Game starts with Gris being held in the hand of a crumbling statue, Gris attempts to sing but can no longer do so, at this point Gris falls with the crumbling statue and all the color in her world is lost. You’ll spend the next few hours helping Gris struggle her way through the trials and tribulations to bring color back to the world and empower Gris to get through the ordeal. Gameplay: Gris is a 2d platformer, so the controls are super simple, movement is A and D or directional inputs if you’re using a controller, jump, stomp, and sing buttons. I think Gris is slightly better when played with a controller because the layout is more natural, however you can play Gris on several different platforms and it’s good with keyboard controls too… just use what you’ve got **** of my favorite parts of the game is how at the end of each chapter, a new color was added to the world as Gris gets a bit stronger. It’s a very powerful narrative tool and Gris is chock full of good sometimes-subtle narrative cues to watch for and appreciate. Conclusion: I picked up Gris a year or two ago while it was 90% off and figured “what the heck, I’ll give this artsy fartsy game a play”. I had never heard of it and decided to give it a go because I added it to my Wishlist due to its interesting and pretty visuals. And I’m really glad that I did get it!Will I remember this game forever? Nah. Did Gris really connect with me on an emotional level? Kinda-sorta? I’ve got stuff going on in my life right now, I think everyone’s got stuff going on. So, in that way Gris did connect with me. However, I didn’t connect in the same way I grieve; but that doesn’t mean I don’t have an appreciation for Gris and its beautiful music and visuals. …But I’m going to leave it at that, because if I go into any more depth there, I will start to cry. …If you want to know more, please check out my YouTube Video.

Emily is Away <3

Jun 19, 2026
-Quick Review-You see the title of this game? Emily is Away <3?Turns out, the developer was being way too clever for me, I thought it was the first Emily is Away game… this is in fact “Emily is Away 3”. The Emily is Away games were developed by Kyle Seeley who has fingers on the pulse of my childhood. Emily is Away <3 was released in 2021 but it’s really more like a precious time capsule of what it was like on the internet in 2008. -Detailed breakdown review-Story: It’s the summer of 2008. In the game's own words: “AIM is officially dead. You finally joined Facebook, I mean FACENOOK, just in time for senior year. Time to see what all the hype is about…”You have 5 different chapters to play through making decisions to impact how your senior year in 2009 will be… well… choices within reason. I tried very hard to stay single but like it or not you’re going to be hooking up with Emily or Evelyn, basically two sides of the same coin with only slight differences to their personalities. Namely Evelyn and I have more musical tastes in common.Ultimately, my opinion on the story is… neutral. I wasn’t here for the story really, I was here to pretend I was back in the 2000’s, and that’s what I got. So I’m happy! Many of the choices I made hinged on “well… it depends on what we would be seeing happening in-person in highschool… If there was obvious flirting going on, then I would do xyz…”That said, the drama that unfolds felt rather realistic to me, but it serves as a good reminder that you can’t maintain a relationship with nothing but text on a screen, you need context and open communication with two people who are willing to work things out together, not simply acting on speculation. …But let's be real, in highschool, I’d be all over that speculation just like every other highschooler who needs to mature more. Gameplay: Okay, let's talk about some of the fun stuff in Emily is Away 3! So there’s a lot of nostalgia in this game that I absolutely loved every second of. Be it the sound effects of our old windows XP eMachine, finding random people on Facenook and sending them friend requests, and of course finding the secret easter egg links, games, websites, playlists, videos, etc. After the game is done you can access everything in one handy menu, but it’s so much more fun to surf from one Facenook profile to another and look at playlists, and links which will sometimes open up into your real life web browser! For example, there’s this little website called YouToob. Can’t think of anything else quite like it, but you can get there from a Facenook friends posted playlist, then click on the suggested videos to pretend what it was like using the website back in the day. Best part? New playlists every chapter, and always some other reference to come **** only thing I worry about, is the web browser sections are hosted on the ****/3/ website… So someday if Kyle Seeley pulls the plug on the website hosting all these features, they’ll go away with it. But that’s a future problem for a future time. Conclusion: In conclusion, I got what I wanted out of Emily is Away. It’s a relatively short game too, my first play through took me only about 8 hours and that’s because I was combing over everything trying to find easter eggs.Remember, I was there to play a game to make me nostalgic for old Facebook, I mean Facenook in 2008-2009, bonus points that I found the story somewhat interesting, albeit a bit frustrating by the constraints of the choices, but I still enjoyed the game. I should also add I bought Emily is Away <3 on a 90% off sale, so if you’re ever interested in trying it out for yourself, you can always just wait for a sale!I wonder what this game looks like to someone younger… and in another 20-30 years what would those people think about Emily is Away? In an attempt to shoehorn in some kind of moral here, remember to make the most of the time you have here and now, because in 20-30 years who knows, there might be an Emily is Away 6 and we’ll look back to 2026 with nostalgia. …There's more to the review, If you want to know more, please check out my YouTube Video.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

User ScoreAtratzu
Jun 5, 2026
-Quick Review-Jedi: Fallen Order is an action-adventure game with a unique blend of souls-lite and metroidvania elements with a Star Wars skin. You’ll start out weak and most likely die repeatedly until you gain more experience (literally and figuratively speaking), as the protagonist gets more skills you can drastically reduce the number of times you die. Jedi Fallen Order was developed by Respawn Entertainment and released in 2019.Something to keep in mind when I review a Star Wars game: I’m biased to like Star Wars video games. I’ve played nearly every Star Wars game on Steam and enjoyed ‘em all (I wouldn’t necessarily recommend them all to everyone… but I personally enjoyed playing them all) -Detailed breakdown review-Story: You play as Cal Kestis former Jedi Padawan, Jedi: Fallen Order takes place five years after the Republics change to the Empire and order 66 is given (the Jedi Purge takes place). Naturally the game needs to give the protagonist a push, so Cal is busted using the force and the Empire sends the **** joins up with former Jedi Knight Cere and the pilot Greez which make up the Crew of the luxury yacht starship called the “Stinger Mantis”. Together they will travel to a couple of familiar planets and a couple new planets in hopes of retrieving a Jedi Holocron previously owned by Cere’s former Master Eno Cordova. The Holocron has the names and locations of Force sensitive Children, which Cere and Cal plan to find, and train the new Jedi Order to help fight against the Empire. Gameplay: Jedi: Fallen Order takes some inspiration from souls lite games, where you rest at meditation points to spend skill points, when you get your butt kicked by someone or falling off a cliff you get your experience back by returning to teach that jerk who’s boss. There’s also inspiration from the Metroidvania genre, while you play Cal and his little buddy BD-1 will get various upgrades and powers which will encourage you to backtrack to find secrets, upgrades, and cosmetics. …I resisted this urge as much as I could, so when I returned to a world, I had lots of extra stuff to find and explore.I tried very hard to play with a Keyboard and mouse, because that’s always been my preferred interface with video games, it’s FUNCTIONAL… but it wasn’t pleasant to play that way. Particularly when it comes to triggers and bumpers with their associated force powers. The configuration just makes more sense on a **** the start of the game, the basic controls are Movement, running, camera movement, interacting with an object, Jumping, Blocking, Attacking, Force Powered Strong Attack, and Dodge. As you progress through the game Cal will get lots of upgrades and Force **** of the neater parts of the game is that Cal feels weaker at the start of the game, and it matches narratively because Cal has withdrawn from The Force! As that connection strengthens Cal will recover abilities he learned while fighting in the clone wars alongside his Master. When Cal remembers one of his old powers there will be a playable tutorial where Cal’s Master will instruct him on how the technique is **** more thing about gameplay is the slow process of learning how to survive combat in Jedi: Fallen Order. You can block most attacks. You can also sidestep or double tap to dodge roll away from most attacks. Knowing when to use one or the other is what changed my game experience from chaotic frenzy button mashing attacks and dodges like I’m playing DBZ, Streetfighter, or Smash bros, to a mean lean killing machine… who still dies because I’m bad at video games, let’s not kid ourselves here. Conclusion: Jedi: Fallen Order is great! But I’m pretty easy to please regarding Star Wars Games. Especially since I picked this game up on sale and played it so many years after its original release date.I felt like I connected with the crew of the Mantis quickly, related to the protagonist because of the difficulty and journey of getting more force powers and getting better at the game. I loved how cinematic the game is with its storytelling and atmosphere.I don’t know when I’ll ever get around to buying and playing Jedi: Survivor, but I can’t wait for the next chance to rejoin this group of aptly named “survivors” in their next adventure. I think Star Wars Fan’s would love the game, if it’s too challenging there’s always the easier difficulty mode to experience the story. If you want to know more, please check out my YouTube Video!

Sid Meier's Civilization VII

-Quick Review-From the dawn of humanity, Civilizations have risen and fallen. Egypt, Greece, Rome, Teddy Roosevelt. Onetime the Norwegians conquered Japan by spreading the power of God. Do you all remember that one time the Aztec’s launched a rocket into space?Oh yeah, I dropped my profound inspirational rhetoric to embrace video games absurdity really quickly, didn’t I? Civilization VI was developed by Firaxis Games and released in 2016, Civilization VI is a turn-based strategy game where you suddenly lose track of time as you continue to click “Next turn” only to discover it is now 3:00 in the morning and you need to get up in a few hours to go to work. -Detailed breakdown review- Gameplay: A typical Civilization session will start with a settler and a combat unit. After you build your city and you send your warrior off to explore, then you’ll explore and build a few scouts, a building or two, then oh look you can build that wonder, oh dang I found a city state and another civilization. Then as you keep playing the other civilization will get pissed off at you because you haven’t been building a navy because we’re all landlocked on this map, then they denounce you, and sometimes they declare war on you, and when you’ve pummeled all their armies into dust and taken over all their cities, the other civilizations accuse you of being a warmonger.WELL GUESS WHAT, I GUESS THIS IS A SELF FULFILLING PROPHECY! I’LL BE THE WARMONGER MONSTER, YOU ALL KEEP ACCUSING ME OF BEING. I DIDN’T START THIS WAR BUT I SURE AS HELL WILL END IT.Sorry, I’m working through things. That’s how you end up getting hooked on a game of civilization which was only supposed to go for a few hours but now way past your bedtime. I think the best place to start with Civilization games is talking about the win conditions. How do you win in Civilization VI? By Domination, Science, Culture, Religion, and **** Civ 6 you don’t need to take all of your enemies' cities to win, just their capital cities.Science has several steps to it, first you need to unlock the technology toward the end of the track, then you need to build a space city district and finish 3 different projects, launch a satellite, land of the moon, establish a mars colony, and then lastly launch an Exoplanet Expedition to win. (So, you’ll need high science and then the economy/production to be able to finish those projects before anyone else)I think the Cultural victory is kinda weird, it’s all about having tourists visit your civilization. It’s also the main reason I turn to violence in my play sessions because much like religion victories it’s sneaky if you’re not paying attention to it.Speaking of Religious Victory, that’s a thing now. You can win by converting other nations to your religion. But religious Victory hits differently when you make a custom religion called “You F Snakes”, and every time you spread your religion you see that text pop up on screen.Lastly, Score Victory is the game saying “Hey, why didn’t you win already? Now you’re out of turns and we’re going to tally up who was doing the best.” Conclusion: I forget how technically complex Civilization games are. It’s kind of hard to narrow down and explain key gameplay mechanics and changes between the different versions. Or maybe it’s just that I haven’t pumped in enough thousands of hours to understand the system well enough to articulate those details?…Maybe we can just split the difference and go with “Civ 6 is pretty easy to pick up and learn (adequate tutorials throughout the game), however Civ 6 takes a long time to master because of all its different systems and mechanics.”For what it’s worth, I’ve enjoyed playing the game. I spent more time in Civ 5 and still prefer it’s gameplay, and maybe if I ever get around to buying and playing the DLC for Civ 6 I might change my opinion in the future. Thanks for taking the time to read my review! …There's more to the review, but I'm out of Characters... -Quick Review-In short, this is my favorite DLC for Borderlands 2, the developer Gearbox released it as its own standalone game and listed it on steam in 2021, even though the DLC version which is still on steam was released in 2013. Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep is one small piece of Borderlands 2, and so it’s not as long to play through as a standalone borderlands game usually would be. Tiny Tina’s Raid is a FPS, looter shooter with a Dungeons and Dragons fantasy twist… The only reason I’d advise getting this version of the game is if you don’t care about anything else in borderlands 2 and want to start Tiny Tina’s DLC **** MORE INTELLIGENT choice is to go get yourself the full copy of Borderlands 2 (preferably Game of the Year Edition, or something bundled with the DLC), so you can first: Experience the borderlands 2 story before the DLC that way you can experience the story properly. Secondly: after you’re done you can go play other DLC you’re not locked into ONLY this one part of borderlands 2. Thirdly, the price for the DLC and the standalone title are the same, but you can definitely pick up the bundle on sale and that’s just genuinely better value for money. -Detailed breakdown review-Story: The story for Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep is a bit interesting, because it’s taking the main cast of Borderlands 2, having them all sit down and play Dungeons and Dragons together. While on the surface this might seem slightly trivial and silly, it’s actually so much better than that because its focus is on Tiny Tina’s coping with the events of Borderlands ****’s just another reason why getting Borderlands 2 with the DLC makes more sense than buying this“One-shot Adventure”. When you first load up the game you’ll get the normal Borderlands 2 intro video with a slight adjustment to fill in what happened in Borderlands 2. On the one hand – yes, that makes sense you gotta know what happened in BL2… on the other hand, you lose the appreciation of actually playing through those events for yourself. That being said, with a more narrow view focusing on the “Dungeons and Dragons” adventure campaign Tina is running, you are playing one of the Characters in the game presumably controlled by Mordecai, Brick, and Lilith with Tiny Tina as the Dungeon Master telling the **** heroes find themselves on the Unassuming Docks when adventure knocks and the only answer is to help the citizens of Flame Rock Refuge by saving their queen from the Handsome Sorcerer. Gameplay: This game is a looter shooter. If you’ve never played one of those before it means you’re going to play through the game looking for new guns with better stats and swapping guns with better guns until you reach max level where the treadmill stops (or you just keep farming bosses and stuff until you get the best possible version of those guns at max **** course, the gameplay is identical to Borderlands 2, but with a few changes, when you level up you get two skill points. Level cap is 35. After you finish the game, you can replay the game on True Vault Hunter Mode …and that’s it, so you play through the campaign twice, then farm the repeatable quests from Murderline’s Circle of Slaughter until you reach level **** perk this version has over the regular borderlands is you have access to all the classes with the game, so you don’t need to buy the Mechromancer and Psycho DLC pack to play as Gaige or Krieg. You also have the Commando, Siren, Gunzerker, and Assassin Classes. Conclusion: Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep is my favorite DLC for borderlands 2. Do I recommend the experience? Absolutely. Do I recommend the One-shot Adventure? No.Actually there is a few contingencies I can think of for someone who might prefer this game over playing borderlands 2 and then moving on to the DLC: If you’re in a hurry and wanted to play this before playing Tiny Tina’s Wonderland… but I haven’t played Tiny Tina’s Wonderland yet, so I don’t know if it’s NECESSARY to do **** One-shot adventure is short; you’ll play through in a few hours and after that you’ll be stuck playing ONLY this expansion. You’ll miss important stuff in Borderlands 2, this game should be played AFTER Borderlands 2 (and as the DLC for borderlands 2 so you can go play something else when you’re done or farm your favorite gun at max ****’s nearly identical to the original DLC, with a few minor changes. I did enjoy my time playing through the game again after all these years, but I never would have bought the One-shot Adventure, but since I picked up a free copy, I’ll take an excuse to replay the game and get some achievements while traveling down memory lane.

The Witcher: Enhanced Edition

Apr 27, 2026
-Quick Review- The Witcher: Enhanced Edition is an RPG developed by CD Projekt Red and released in 2008. A year after the original Witcher game’s release date in 2007. You play as Geralt of Rivia a “Witcher” which is a type of genetically and magically modified monster hunter who goes around slaying all kinds of monsters for bounties. After all, Toss A Coin to Your Witcher. -Detailed breakdown review-Story: You play as Geralt, Witcher by profession. Gambler by trade (I’m only slightly joking, there’s Dice Poker and Fist fighting mini games in the Witcher: Enhanced). Although Geralt has already been on many adventures, suddenly Geralt wakes up in the mountain fortress Kaer Morhen, with amnesia, and instead of raising his special defense, it gives the player an opportunity to shape Geralt with their own decisions regardless of that one time Geralt teamed up with a Vampire (Dandelion, Geralt’s Bard friend spilled the beans on that one in this game, but that was one of the books I actually knew!).Anyway, everyone is like “oh no! you lost your memory, don’t worry we’ll help you!” But then Kae Morhen is attacked by a group called “Salamandra”, and you’re already hit by your first choice to shape the story, go help the sorceress Triss Merigold, or aid your fellow Witcher’s in battling the monster in the courtyard? Throughout your play through you’ll make choices like this one, so get used to it now.Geralt pursues the Salamandra leaders, along the way stopping to help villagers with their various quests, or not. I’m not your dad. You can play The Witcher however you want. The main story is pretty straightforward: Geralt is tracking down the sorcerer Azar Javed, and the mercenary known as “the Professor”. But getting to the conclusion will have a number of different twists and turns. Will Geralt be sympathetic to the plight of the Scoia'tael (An elven terrorist faction), or throw in with the Order of the Flaming Rose (a group of religious fanatics), or stick to that classic “Witcher Neutrality?” Gameplay: All the way back to the first Witcher game, they’ve been consistent with this thru line: Witcher’s have two swords. A silver sword for Monsters. A steel sword for humans. Geralt also has three fighting styles: fast, strong, and group. Alchemy to craft potions which provide a plethora of beneficial effects and lastly Geralt can use Force Powers… I mean… “Witcher signs” aka “magic spells”. Throw in leveling talent trees, inventory management, and you’ve got yourself a video game!Fighting styles are another way you adapt to the combat in the game, if you’re surrounded sometimes, it’s best to focus on the biggest boy and beat him bloody with Strong style… other times it’s more efficient to switch to Group Style combat and take down the adds before focusing on the main baddy. Still other times you’ll fight someone too nimble to be hit by Strong style, and vice **** nuance you need with combat and especially with Alchemy is more or less needed depending on the difficulty you play on. On regular/normal difficulty you can get away with just basic Alchemy, make sure you stock up on Swallow potions which are your basic healing potion – Swallow doesn’t heal right away either, so on the really hard fights pop the potion before you start combat. Alchemy has a ton of other benefits, even giving Geralt more skill points to use!I didn’t use the Witcher Signs very much… mostly Aard and that was to stun enemies late in the game for quick insta kills, and then to open up hidden passageways by blowing away rocks and **** Witcher Signs are: Aard (Force Push - blue), Igni (Fire - red), Quen (magical shield – yellow ), Axii (mind control – green), and Yrden (sets a trap – purple). Each sign has it’s own skill tree… which is kinda weird, because I put my points into combat styles and ignored Signs until I had extra points with no where else to go. In Silver and Steel I trust… and it worked for my **** Witcher Enhanced being an RPG there is of course experience and leveling systems in place. Conclusion: I enjoyed returning to the Witcher universe! My playthrough took roughly 40 hours. If you wanted to play The Witcher 1 Enhanced all the way to The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt you’re looking at roughly 200+ hours. So, if you’re looking for a long marathon game, look no further. For the rest of us with more limited free time, 40–50-hour RPG’s is pretty reasonable. I went into The Witcher Enhanced with lower expectations because it is an older game, and you can tell it was released in 2008. My game crashed several times, and I lost several hours of progress but that’s all kind of with the territory I guess (The lesson learned was to just save after 30 minutes, thanks for nothing autosave). …There's more to the review, but I'm out of Characters... Hades

-Quick Review-Hades is a lesson in patience and persistence. It’s lining up the “Skill”, “Luck”, and “Experience” circles in a Venn diagram. If you’ve got more skill and luck, you’ll make progress faster. If you’ve got more luck and experience, you can compensate for skills or natural aptitude. And if you’ve got no luck, you can still grind your way to success with developing skills and getting experience playing the game (Best of all as you grind you’ll level up skills which literally improve you luck, so even an poor unlucky soul like me can get some of that luck-o-matic-magic).Hades is a Roguelite Action RPG developed by Super Giant Games and released in 2020; I’ve loved everything about Hades, from its music to its gameplay, to its voice acting, to its theming and art style, and I can easily recommend the game to pretty much anyone!I had been busy working on other games, and suddenly I noticed a good Sale for Hades, and I told my wife “Hey, this is a must buy game”. Then I promptly started streaming it on Twitch. While everyone is over there having fun playing Hades 2, I’m back here playing Hades 1 …and living my best life! -Detailed breakdown review-Story: The story just tosses you right in. You’re playing as Zagreus the son of Hades, as he attempts to escape the various layers of the underworld and make it to the surface. Zagreus will fight his way through Tartarus, Asphodel, Elysium, and the Temple of **** all likelihood your first run will be unsuccessful… correction; it would be incredible and unbelievable to successfully escape on your first run with zero experience in the game. Expect to fail, expect to fail a lot. But after every run you’ll return to the Hall of Hades to get dialogue and exposition from the narrator and various colorful characters to fill in the background of who Zagreus is, and why he’s hellbent on getting to the surface.I intentionally want to avoid talking about specific story details because uncovering the story bit by bit is another extremely rewarding experience from your subsequent playthroughs. The important story detail to remember is this: even when I failed an attempt, I went back to the beginning and had new character interactions, new stuff to unlock, and a fresh run with a fresh change to try mixing different boons and upgrades together to see what kind of smorgasbord-soup I could cook up.Hades’ story kept my attention the whole time, sure it’s disappointing when I lose on a run that I was so certain I was going to succeed! But after a loss I’d just dust myself off and give it another try, again, and again. Gameplay: Hades is played from an isometric view and has some hack and slash inspired combat elements to it. You have a Primary attack which is your basic damage dealing move, A Secondary Attack called a “Cast” which is unique and changes with different god’s boons and is limited in how many “cast” points you have, each weapon also has a Special Attack which will change drastically based on the weapon, and lastly there’s also a Dash move to quickly side step attacks, jump through barriers, and you can also attack while dashing! My first experience playing Hades was clearing the first set of levels until promptly being destroyed by the first boss. Then went back to the Hall of Hades and spent my darkness to get permanent upgrades, unlocked new weapons with my keys, and then dived right back into it with another escape attempt… I continued to fight to get to back to that boss and dying to it several times until I got a good run where I beat the boss, then rinse and repeat on the next zone fighting my way out of the underworld until after 24 hours total gametime and roughly 35 attempts, I got my first successful escape! The underworld is said to be in constant flux, and chambers will move around so each time you play you’ll encounter different chambers from the last time you visited. You’ll find chambers which reward you darkness, coins, keys, god boons, skill levels, the Hammer Artifact which improves your weapon somehow, and more. Conclusion: As I said at the start of this review: I can easily recommend Hades to pretty much anyone! Hades is one of the best games I’ve ever played. I’d absolutely put it on my top 10 list if I made top 10 lists. There hasn’t been any game Supergiant has put out that I haven’t loved, but Hades has blown me away, the story was engaging, the gameplay was compelling and enjoyable, I will be playing the music from the game for the rest of my life, and as bonus points Hades has extremely good replay value and lots of ways to add extra challenge to the game! If you haven’t played Hades yet, you should absolutely give it a shot. I'm confident you’ll agree with me on how great this game is. ...There's more to the review, but I'm out of Characters... -Quick Review-Spartan Survivors is a Vampire Survivors clone, 2d, bullet heaven, shoot ‘em up, and halo-fan-game. Developed by Bathrobe and Aubega and released in 2025. In Spartan Survivors you wade through an ocean of Covenant and Flood, picking up experience dots to level up to unlock new weapons and upgrades. It’s a pretty short game you can play for 4 hours or less and be done with it… even grinding out the final few achievements I only racked up 8 hours total gametime. -Detailed breakdown review-Story: There’s no character speaking, there’s no cutscenes… and yet I knew exactly what part of Halo I was playing. The game’s story follows the original Halo game on Xbox. You fight the Covenant for a bit, then suddenly everyone stops attacking you and then you get hit by the Flood for a bit, then at the end you’ve got both Covenant and Flood coming at you. Gameplay: Spartan Survivors gameplay is basically the same as Vampire Survivors, it’s a 2d top-down shooter, where you move around and shoot lots of different types of bullets out of your little spartan body. Some of the weapons are aimed by moving your mouse around, many other weapons just shoot **** you play there’s a progression system where you unlock permanent upgrades when you get enough experience to “Promote”, but I burnt through those extremely fast and the final few promotions were earned while I was mopping up achievements. Conclusion: All in all, I’ve played a lot of games, Spartan Survivors gave me more than most free mobile games. I played it for a few hours, got the achievements, and now I’m going to move on to something else. I appreciate that quick, simple, pleasant **** add some critique, naturally I would have liked more nuance to the different weapons and upgrades, I would have liked more variety of enemies to fight, I’d like there to be different types of weapons instead of basically: bullet weapons, and explody **** again… the game is free, it was a fun short play through, if you wanted to get a feel for if you’d Like Vampire Survivors, give this game a try and then go play Vampire Survivors. Literally nothing to lose.

PEAK

Jan 19, 2026
-Quick Review-I’m resisting the temptation to make the joke about how “PEAK is Peak”.PEAK is a climbing game, it’s best experienced cooperative with friends, however you can play by yourself too… but with voice proximity chat, extra hands, extra inventory space, sharing the load, huddling together for warmth, pulling up a friend that extra couple of inches when their stamina runs out, PEAK really is more geared towards a cooperative experience where you summate the mountain together. -Detailed breakdown review-Story: You are a scout… I mean obviously you are a scout, but I mean in the game you play as a Scout. Kinda like “Boy Scouts”, “Girl Scouts”, “Junior Woodchucks”, or “Junior Chipmunk”, go on hikes, learn how to tie square knots, camping, sit in a classroom and do underwater basket weaving… if that last example seems odd, it’s because my time in boy scouts wasn’t stellar.Anyway, you’re all on a troop adventure and… …Oops! Looks like the plane crashed and only you and your friends survived. It’s up to You and maybe Huey, Dewey or Lewy (friends sold separately) to make it to the PEAK where some idiot lost all of the flares to summon the helicopter to escape. But to get to the Peak… ahh, that’s where the story truly is. Gameplay: For a game about hiking… There's a fair bit to explain about the gameplay.First thing you should know is if you want to climb something you walk to a tree, rock, wall or something, click and hold the left mouse button to climb. General movement is with WASD, and when you’re climbing WASD translates to the wall the same way, W is up, S is down, D is right, and A is left. After movement is figured out, the next concept which is CRITIALLY important to master is Stamina. It’s definitely a case of “Easy to Learn, Hard to Master”, at the bottom left of the screen you have a stamina bar, once this bar empties you stop climbing and start falling, if the gods of PEAK really hate you, the mountain will slope away and you’ll just fall thousands of feet to unceremoniously hit the floor and bounce once before you drift into **** you want as much stamina as possible, right? Right! But it’s more complicated then that. Things eat away at your stamina bar, like poison, injuries, burning, freezing, weight from items in your pockets or backpack, and hunger too literally takes chunks out of your stamina bar. Some food items, or cooked food, or Campfire checkouts will give you bits of a second stamina bar. This second stamina bar is “Bonus Stamina”, if you use up your normal stamina you’ll dip into these reserves which are quite literally CLUTCH. That being said, try not to use bonus stamina unless you need too, everything on peak becomes an exercise in weighing the risks vs rewards…Do you want to use your bonus stamina to clear this part, and then drop a role for your friends? Or do you want to use a rope cannon and save your bonus stamina? Maybe you don’t have much to work with at all and you should try looking up another side of the mountain… for a potentially easier path? At the end of the day that’s where the real challenge in PEAK is, it’s planning and using your tools effectively and efficiently. Conclusion: PEAK is really fun! The MESA update was… frustrating. Sometimes you’ll get a generated seed which is just god-awful, and you get to quit the game sad on that day… but you can know tomorrow there’ll be a new generated seed to try out and maybe that one will be easier? On the whole PEAK has been a fun game, I look forward to any future updates the game might have. I can easily suggest the game for anyone looking for a cooperative game to play with friends. PEAK is very unique, I haven’t played any other game like it, and it’ll sit in my list of “favorite co-op games” probably for the rest of my life. …There's more to the review, but I'm out of Characters... -Quick Review-Black Mesa in short, is a fan-made remake of Half-Life 1 but with Half-Life 2’s Source game engine and made to feel like you’re playing Half-Life 2. By that metric alone, I say: mission accomplished! It does feel like I’m playing Half-Life 1, with all the ease of life changes in Half-Life 2… Physics see-saw puzzles sold separately. Black Mesa is a First Person Shooter developed by Crowbar Collective and Released in 2020. -Detailed breakdown review-Story: The story for Black Mesa follows Half-Life 1 nearly brush stroke for brush stroke. As you’d expect from a Fan remake of Half-Life 1. It would be kinda weird if they took the story in a whole different direction, considering the developers were **** play as MIT graduate Ph.D. holder in theoretical physics, you know him, you love him, silent protagonist Dr. Gordan Freeman. How he got that Ph.D. without saying a single word is almost as big a mystery as his marriage to his beloved **** perfectly mundane day at the Black Mesa Research Facility in New Mexico, Dr Freeman was feeling a little bit odd… like he wasn’t entirely in control of himself… he ran amuck throwing stuff at his fellow Black Mesa Staff Members and when one scientist in a bathroom stall asked for TP, Dr Freeman proceeded to throw everything in the vicinity over the wall on top of the poor pooper. When finally arriving at his workplace, he proceeded to demonstrate his Ph.D. Prowess by pushing buttons and causing a Resonance Cascade. Mondays, am I right? Well, this Resonance Cascade allowed alien lifeforms to warp into the black mesa facility, and everything pretty much got turned upside ****. Gordan Freeman finds himself grabbing as many weapons as he can hold, but not before meeting the love of his life: The crowbar. As Gordan runs frantically through the Black Mesa facility fighting off extradimensional aliens, behold there is a beacon of hope! The Military has come to save the day! ////clip “oh we’re saved” //// Oh wait, no. Nope. We’re not saved; the military is trying to cover up the whole operation and your part of the evidence. What possible solution could the brilliant Dr. Freeman do? Run around and solve puzzles, break stuff, and press buttons? Maybe. Probably. Gameplay: Black Mesa’s Gameplay is pretty typical for a First Person Shooter, and particularly pretty typical for Half-Life 2. Movement with WASD, jump with spacebar, crouch with CTL, shoot and alternative fire with the mouse buttons, zoom with **** game design is fairly linear however there are secrets and ways to backtrack. It seems like Black Mesa has made the game visually more clear which way you go forward. In the original game I often got lost and confused on puzzles, I still ran into problems figuring out how to proceed sometimes, but I think the game seems to flow much easier, the developers also cut out whole parts of the original game. I do not miss navigating that minecart hellscape of rails from the original game. I did not like it **** both Half Life and Black Mesa, typically you’ll have a puzzle section, then a fight where you get to flash your arsenal of weapons at the foolish mortals who oppose the mighty Ph.D. crowbar wielding protagonist, then you’ll have another puzzle or some dialogue from another character, then go back and repeat the **** that for a bit, freeze for a few seconds as the next section of the level loads, while I was recombing over the levels picking up achievements I appreciated level select, and it was just a pretty similar experience to when I played Half-Life 2… and I like that. This is probably a better starting point for people who have never played the Original Half-Life game. Conclusion: I really enjoyed playing through Black Mesa, the developers made a lot of ease of life improvements that I appreciated. Having played Half-Life 2 before going back to try out Half-Life 1… What I’m trying to say is: “I don’t have the same nostalgia some people have for the original.”At least the long jump was fixed in a way that made sense, Xen looks much more pretty, I preferred the Black Mesa Experience, but for those who need to like one over the other, it’s fine if you prefer the original due to nostalgia. Both are good games, and I’m glad I’ve played both now! …There's more to the review... If you want to know more, check out my YouTube Video!

DOOM is a fast-paced-gory-FPS developed by id Software and released in 2016. I would say the Key features of the game are no weapon reloading, recovering health and ammo by either picking up items or using “glory kills” on demons with low health. -Detailed breakdown review-Story: The story for DOOM takes place on Mars, you play as “The Doom Guy” known colloquially as “The Slayer”, as you run through the Mars Research facility you learn that you’ve been reawakened by Samuel Hayden. You learn that Samuel Hayden is the UAC (Union Aerospace Corporation) scientist in charge of the Mars facility and has also uploaded his consciousness to an Android.“The Doom Guy” aka “The Slayer” goes on a rampage throughout the facility because there’s nothing he hates more then the smell of demons first thing in the morning. Samuel Hayden is like “no, don’t, stop… we need this technology because the earth is having an energy crisis and we’re harnessing the demons to charge our smart phones”. And The Slayer says nothing because I’m not convinced he has vocal cords **** eventually The Slayer stops just long enough for Samuel Hayden to say “Look, this is all Olivia Pierce’s fault, she’s the one who opened the portal to Hell and set all the Demons loose… nevermind the fact that I’m the head of an organization harnessing demonic power. (he said under his robotic breath)”Ultimately, The Slayer is persuaded enough to turn his destructive tendencies to chase after Olivia and stop her before she opens a portal to allow more Demons to enter the facility, the slayer will fight through the Mars Facility and through Hell to finish the job. Gameplay: The gameplay is DOOM’s strongest element! Pretty standard controls movement with WASD, shoot and alternative fire with the mouse buttons, throw grenades (or don’t; I remapped mine to R because the key wasn’t being used since there’s no reloading in DOOM… it also added to comedic effect as I instinctively would tap my R key after shooting and then toss a Grenade right into the small space I was occupying), I had to unbind a few keys I don’t remember them all but I definitely unbound Shift to walk because who walks in a FPS?The most noteworthy detail about the gameplay is: It’s fast paced, nearly nonstop demon shooting action from start to finish, without reloading guns. I felt like I was on the offensive the whole game, if my health was getting low, I would look for a demon to glory kill to get health back. If my ammo was low, I would bring out the chainsaw to open up a demon like a **** only thing that slowed me down was my own personal incessant need to search for secrets and collectables. So, I would regularly check the map to see where I needed to search next. Collectables and upgrades range from health/defense/ammo permanent upgrades, FuncoPop’s, runes which are discovered then unlocked by playing a quick challenging mini game with special parameters, new weapons, and weapon mods. While playing there was a new weapon, and/or new weapon-mod every level. I never felt like the developers were holding out on me for the next upgrade or that it was too long until the next upgrade. I haven’t had that experience since playing Half-Life and Bioshock… and honestly, I missed this type of progression in First Person Shooters! Conclusion: As I said at the beginning of this review, I really enjoyed playing Doom 2016. I enjoyed it from start to finish, after I finished the game, I went back and played more to get some collectables and achievements. All of that should tell you I mean it.I think Doom will appeal to anyone who enjoys First Person Shooters. I haven’t played Doom Eternal and Doom the Dark Ages yet, but after playing this game, I’ll be watching for the next sale to pick up Doom Eternal and Dark Ages. Because if they are half as fun as Doom 2016 was, they’re still worth playing! …There's more to the review... If you want to know more, please check out my YouTube Video!

-Quick Review-Crypt of the NecroDancer is a roguelike rhythm game, developed by Brace Yourself Games and released in 2015. Crypt of the NecroDancer combines all the elements of a 2D Top-down Roguelike with procedural generated levels, picking up different weapons gear and items to make your “build”, all the while digging through walls and battling monsters in an underground dungeon to the beat of the music. -Detailed breakdown review-Story: At the start of the game, there’s a cutscene of the first playable character named “Cadence” digging in a graveyard to uncover the truth of her long-lost treasure-hunting father. She falls underground and the NecroDancer steals her heart and forces her to move to the rhythm of the **** Cadence plays through the acts, she will unlock new characters which will have different quirks, some helpful, some not so helpful, for example one character has infinite bombs, and another character can’t attack at all. Gameplay: Movement is up, down, left, and right, some items require you to tap two directions at the same time, like down + left to drop bombs, and up + left to use an item (The Steamdeck assigns buttons rather than directional inputs. This game is great on Steam deck by the way). You attack by moving in the same direction as an enemy or attackable **** the previous mentioned movement must be done at the rhythm of the music, if you miss or skip the beat your character will NOT be injured however you’ll be at a “disadvantage”. You lose your gold multiplier, and the rest of the dungeon will move around you to the beat of the music, sometimes you’ll miss a critical turn and die because the monster got an extra turn. I have used this to my advantage once or twice… but the game definitely rewards and incentivizes the player to move with the **** experience at the start of each zone was “Oh no… there’s no way I’m going to figure out how to play this game”. Then after playing and dying on the same level for a bit, I’d make progress and get lucky with my weapon, armor, items, etc… then I’d get to the next zone, and we were right back at square one “oh no… this is when I’ll need to quit, it’s too hard”. But I did slowly learn the monsters’ attack patterns through lots of trial and error. Conclusion: Crypt of the Necrodancer is a good game. I’d recommend it to people who enjoy rhythm games… maybe more so than recommending it for people who like roguelikes. Certainly, it has roguelike stuff in it, but you really need to like the rhythm-based gameplay, if you don’t like rhythm-based gameplay the game really won’t appeal to you in the same way. However, it does have options to make the game easier too, so it can be more accessible to **** you don’t commit to getting everything, you’re looking at roughly 13-15 hours playing the game as Cadence. (More or less playtime will be required depending on how naturally good you are at the game, and how lucky you get on your runs) And if you’ve got the time and motivation to really learn the game you’re looking at hundreds of hours of play. The game is a completionist nightmare, I wouldn’t recommend doing that to yourself… but completionists already subject themselves to that agony… what’s there to lose to a little indie game, right? …There's more to the review... -Quick Review-Star Wars: The Old Republic is an MMORPG developed by BioWare and later handed off to Broadsword Online Games. You’ll create a character for the Old Galactic Republic or Sith Empire, level up, collect gear, vanity pets and mounts, complete quests, get achievements, collect decorations and buy houses, level up more, and run around on numerous planets from the Star Wars franchise. The biggest standout features in The Old Republic are the Class Related Quests, and the incredible amount of voiced dialogue in the game. I played for around 350 hours as a Free to Play Account before deciding to chip in $15 for a subscription for a month, and to unlock more character slots, and see the rest of the content. After my account relapsed into “Preferred status” (Free to play: Never bought anything. Preferred: Has more perks, but back to FTP restrictions), I finished playing as all the different classes and chipped away at achievements casually. I may resubscribe occasionally for future content, but one subscription was enough for me for now. (If I do resubscribe again I’ll have saved up lots of credits and know exactly what premium stuff I want before my subscription ends again, stuff like housing upgrades requiring over 1 mil credits, or buying stuff in general costing over 1 mil credits.) -Detailed breakdown review-Story: In general sweeping terms, you’re playing as a character for the Empire or Republic, who is part of a 3 Act Structure, usually the first act is about some kind of growth or a hunt or something, then the second act is an in-between character development series for you and your crew, and lastly act 3 ends on Correllia (Probably the worst planet to navigate in the game, to think the YT-1300, YT-2000, and YT-2400 light freighters were made here. No wonder everyone wants to leave the darn planet, it’s a cartography-deathtrap).After you’ve, become the Hero of the Republic/Empire, Ultimate Bounty Hunter / Agent, Jedi Master, Sith Lord, whatever your “final form” might be at the end of Act 3, you can continue your journey with the expansions which came out! Even as a Free to Play Account, you can access a few of the expansions: Rise of the Hutt Cartel, Galactic Starfighter, Galactic Strongholds, and lastly Shadow of Revan. With the expansions, there will be some call-backs to your past deeds, for example as a Bounty Hunter, on the planet Rishi (the Shadow of Revan Expansion) there was reference to my status as “Grand Champion of the Great Hunt”. And all the way to the Legacy of the Sith Expansion, my status as a Mandalorian is acknowledged and kinship with Torrian being particularly special. Gameplay: You know how most MMORPG’s control, right? Movement with WASD on the keyboard, looking around with the mouse, abilities and skills bound to 1-9 on the keyboard or click ‘em on the action bar with your mouse, get experience for killing stuff and completing quests, level up to get stronger new abilities, and as you reach higher levels equip gear to give you beneficial stats to increase your damage and health pool. (Most people are familiar with MMO concepts, if you’re not feel free to let me know and I’ll write it out or send ‘ya a link to a beginners video or something)Star Wars: The Old Republic has all the typical expected MMORPG things with a Star Wars coat of paint over the top. Level up via questing, dungeons, or grinding exp out some other way. At Max level after you’ve finished the content you work at getting the best gear with the best stats. Once I reached that point, I marked The Old Republic as complete, I was in a raiding guild a lifetime ago on World of Warcraft and I won’t go back to that life in any game… and once I reach that point in any MMO it’s time for me to bow out. (I’m not going to log on and play a video game like it’s my job… unless you want to pay me how much I earn for working, I’ll do it then! DM me your best offers. lol) However, the journey to get to that point was enjoyable and I’m satisfied with my experience playing The Old Republic! You have 8 Classes in total, but they mirror each other so, for the Republic you have “Jedi Knight” which plays the same as the “Sith Warrior” on the Empire side… the remaining classes are: Jedi Consular / Sith Inquisitor, Republic Trooper / Imperial Agent, Smugger / Bounty Hunter. Each Class also has its own Starship, and group of companions who join you for the adventure! At character creation you choose your faction, be it Republic or Imperial, then choose and customize your species ranging from Human, Cyborg, and Zabrak… then they get ya as a FTP account because you can’t play as Twi’lek, Miraluka, Chiss, Sith Pureblood, etc unless you subscribe. …There's more to the review, but I'm out of Characters... Viscera Cleanup Detail was developed by RuneStorm and released in 2015. Viscera Cleanup Detail is an unusual game focused on Cleaning and Organizing. Gameplay is gathering giblets, body parts, and trash to burn in the furnace, mopping up blood splatter, scanning in leftover Personal USB thumb drives, and organizing crates and barrels. -Detailed breakdown review-Story: The story for Viscera Cleanup Detail is kind of peripheral… Sure you’re “stepping into the boots of a space-station janitor tasked with cleaning up after various horrific sci-fi horror events”. Every level you’ll find and pick up logs and notes about what terrible thing occurred on that level, and when you get back to the office there’s scattered documents and newspaper clippings around that you can delve into to get more story **** you’re looking for more story elements, you can read all the notes, look through the files after a level is complete and just generally dig into the extra stuff to your heart’s content. However, personally I tossed everything into the incinerator because I’m trying to get that promotion, and A) Don’t have time to read the stuff, and B) don’t want to hang onto any notes in case they count as garbage. Gameplay: This is where the fun starts… Well, “fun” if you enjoy the gameplay loop. First a useful note about the game… the levels you select have an average completion rate ranging between 45 minutes to 3 hours, take note of that when you start a level so you can get an idea of how long you’re committing to a level.Typically, the 3-hour maps are very large or have more stuff to work on than normal, but you can save mid-level, thankfully you don’t need to bust out the whole level in one session… which is good, because I’ve spent over 4 hours on some levels! You’ll need to figure out your workflow for yourself, but typically I like to first locate the furnace/incinerator on the level, toss all the bodies in there first, then dispense boxes to pick up smaller giblets and trash, then lastly, I mop up the gross stuff on the floors, walls, and ceilings.I do that from room to room, or section to section, and soon enough the facility is squeaky clean. Then there’s a few final objectives to do before you clock out for the day… swipe the personnel USB thumb drive data things, fill in the Sarlacc pits, stack the crates and barrels in the designated color taped areas, then fill out the exit survey and clock out to receive your rating. Under 75% and you’re FIRED, between 75-99% is satisfactory, and 100% and better to get promoted and death threats from your coworkers. Conclusion: I don’t think Viscera Cleanup Detail is for everybody… I’m not really sure how to suggest “which kind of person” WOULD enjoy this game. If you like the idea of cleaning something in a video game, or you’re looking for an unusual chaotic group exercise, this game might be up your alley.I guess for me personally, I like to load up a game of Viscera Cleanup Detail and just “go Zen”, put on a podcast, or some relaxing music and go to work. I find it relaxing and didn’t have as much trouble with the mechanics like my brother and wife had. …If you want to know more, please check out my YouTube Video Review.

-Quick Review-Somehow in the year 2025 I played through and streamed Undertale with basically nothing spoiled for me. My elevator-pitch-review for Undertale is: “It’s fun, I loved the characters, the music is excellent, the gameplay wasn’t like anything else I’ve ever played, enjoyed the game the whole playthrough - loved it from start to finish.”Undertale is an RPG with psudo-turn-based psudo-bullet-hell combat sections where you can choose to kill or spare monsters. Undertale was developed by Toby Fox and released in 2015. It’s truly a unique gem **** and worth picking up and playing. -Detailed breakdown review-Story: You play as a human child who has fallen into the underground, a place where Monsters were banished after a war with humans. As you play, you’ll encounter a plethora of charming personalities. The story will change depending on if you kill or spare characters. But the writing and humor are probably my favorite parts of the game. I’ve never laughed so hard at a rock. Gameplay: There are two parts to the gameplay… the RPG part where you walk around and interact with the characters and world as a whole; solve puzzles, look at crossword puzzles, buy healing items, moving from map to map, **** other part of the gameplay is the combat, while walking around you will sometimes run into random encounters or fight bosses where you select from a typical looking turn-based JRPG menu to “Fight, Act, Item, and Mercy”. …Mercy is a bit of a new one but remember in Undertale you don’t need to kill monsters; you can spare them and beat the game without having killed any monsters! This is called a “Passivist run”. But you can also kill them all on what is called a “Genocide run”.Typically, if you’re going to kill stuff you’ll select the Fight Menu, then select your target, then you’ll make timed button presses to do damage… But if you’re trying to spare stuff, you’ll usually need to pick the Act Menu, and then make selections, until the Spare choice turns yellow in the Mercy Menu (symbolizing the Monster no longer wants to fight). When you’re done attacking or acting, it’ll be the Monsters turn and they’ll attack, this is when you experience the bullet-hell part of the game. For this part of the game, you control your heart which represents your soul and move around usually within a small box (but that’s not how it ALWAYS works), you’ll dodge “friendliness pellets” and other obstacles in an attempt to take as little damage as possible before it’s your turn to Attack or Act again. Conclusion: In conclusion, playing Undertale was great! It has a lot of replay value so a single playthrough might take anywhere from 7-14 hours depending on how easily sidetracked you get; you’ll definitely want to replay it to see different dialogue interactions you’ll have with the characters.Trust me when I say, “You’re going to want to go on a date with the Skeleton.” …There's more to the review, if you want to know more, please check out my YouTube Video Review.

-Quick Review-Shift Happens is a 2d puzzle platformer developed by Klonk Games and released in 2017. I saw a puzzle game with an orange and blue protagonist duo solving puzzles in a laboratory… to be completely honest with you I was hoping for a puzzle game like Portal, what I got on single player was a multi-task challenge, and on Multiplayer I would explain the solution and my partner would struggle to adjust to the controls.-Detailed breakdown review-Story: I would have liked to see something more narratively driven throughout the game, where the level tells a story… After all the game does start out in a laboratory assembly line where grey blobby “jello jelly” creatures are being tested with basic cube and button puzzles and shrinking and **** game’s story is basically due to divine intervention two of these blobby creatures get painted Orange and Blue, and then get linked together so that only one can be big and one can be small at a time… thus the game’s namesake: “Shift Happens”, as you and your partner shift between being big or small blobby **** Orange and Blue “Jello Jelly creatures” named Bismo and Plom will need to work together through the lab, forest, canyons, and finally the cold caves snow level to discover the true adventure is the friends we made along the way.Gameplay: The first two levels give you a good idea of the basic mechanics, move right and left, jump, grab and hold to push and pull, and “shift” between being big or smol blob. After the second level the “Accident” happens where one character needs to be big the other needs to be small. Whenever you or your friend “shifts” the other player ****, the way you can betray your partner in co-op is by intentionally messing up the timing of stuff, pressing random buttons and not solving the problem, or shifting when your partner is small running under a platform or shifting large when your partner is standing in waist high **** that we’re done laughing at the antics… there’s not a whole lot left here, each “world” or set of levels is progressively harder then the last. The first set of levels in the laboratory was the easiest and also the levels I enjoyed playing the most. Conclusion: Shift Happens. What if I just ended the review like that?I picked up Shift Happens on a really good sale and only spent a few dollars to pick it up. So, I wouldn’t discourage picking it up… but I can’t really give it a strong recommendation either. It’s fine for what it is, but I wish it was more fun to play on singleplayer or multiplayer. If you’ve seen some of the gameplay and you still want to give it a try, you should give it a shot. …However, if you’re looking for your next favorite co-op game, I’d suggest putting this game lower on your list.…There's more to the review, if you want to know more, please check out my YouTube Video Review.

-Quick Review-Guns of Icarus is a Team-based steampunk themed first-person shooting game, where you play as either an Engineer who repairs stuff, Gunner who shoots stuff, or a Pilot who directs your airship. Guns of Icarus Online was developed by Muse Games and released in 2012, Guns of Icarus Alliance was released in 2017 and added a PvE mode (previously Guns of Icarus was only PvP), and added in factions, and some new airships! -Detailed breakdown review-Story: When I played Guns of Icarus Online, I thought originally the story was simply “You’re living your best life as a Career Engineer/Gunner/Pilot who is fighting in a perpetual war” … Actually, the dev’s probably had some long explanation about a war which destroyed humanity and collections of civilization’s clustered together to build airships to take to the sky and battle for dominance… because after all human beings are nothing, if not predictably self-destructive?I’m not sure where people are finding “Lore” for Guns of Icarus, there’s some stuff on the Wiki (but I dunno where that comes from), and on reddit I was reading most of the lore comes from Map Descriptions. Gameplay: Where to start with Guns Of Icarus Gameplay… First, you’ll make an account (It’s been so long since I did that, I forgot you needed to do it), then you should play the first Engineer Tutorial… I’d definitely advise giving all the tutorials a shot, especially if you’re planning on being a pilot. I don’t remember there being a tutorial when I first played, I remember learning by making Practice games and trying out weapons and airships there.Next, you’ll need to select your starting class… but unlike picking your starter pokemon you can switch between them at will. Engineer and Gunner are recommended for beginners because they have the most straightforward roles… but I’d add weight to learning how to Engineer as it’s the most beginner friendly role because you normally double up on Engineers.Next you decide if you want to play PvP or PvE… back in the day we had to walk up hill to school, both ways… An’ we didn’t got no fangled PvE option. Now there is a PvE mode, you should learn the game against AI controlled airships! You can make your own match and even sail with an AI controlled crew, or you can wrangle up 3 friends and play together the way the game was **** is definitely fun, and the next level experience for Guns of Icarus… but the people who know what they’re doing will DOMINATE the game, and everyone else will spend a lot of time respawning. Not to discourage you from it, definitely give it a shot… but you’re less likely to see PVP games going unless they’re hosted by the community events, or by clans. But as long as you have two people willing to be captains, you can make a PvP Game! Conclusion: Guns of Icarus Alliance is great! It enables me to play the game by myself at the worst… and at the best I can drag friends into this great team building exercise! Depending on what class you play as there are tiered difficulties and complexities, definitely start out as an Engineer or Gunner while you learn the game. Then maybe take the next step and try piloting!I said in my old Guns of Icarus Online review that the game is designed to be played for a long time, easily wracking up hundreds of hours of play time. I wish there were more people playing this game actively so we would have more PvE and PvP matches going. However Guns of Icarus Online would be harder to recommend due to its dependence on having enough people around to fill up two ships, it’s far easier to fill up one ship, or just make your own match and have people drop in to join your crew.Hopefully my review was helpful. I'm limited in text format just how long I can make these reviews, but in video format I can cover so much more, so I’d like to footstomp checking out my video review, anyway. Thanks either way for taking the time to read this review. …There's more to the review... If you want to know more, please check out my YouTube Video.

Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds

Star Wars Galactic Battles Grounds is a Real Time Strategy Game developed by Ensemble Studios and released in 2001. In 2002 they released an expansion pack for the Clone Wars Campaign (as a reminder Star Wars Episode II - Attack of the clones was also released in 2002) later both were bundled together and released as the “Galactic Battle Grounds **** question is: What does Galactic Battle Grounds do to set itself apart as an RTS game? You have 8 campaigns with 7 levels for each campaign, star wars theming, scenario editor which lets you build or edit your own maps and campaigns, andddd that’s about it. It’s an RTS with everything you might expect: Build houses to increase the number of troops you can command, rock paper scissors with different troops strengths and weaknesses, the faster you click and set things up the better you are. Story: The Story for Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds Saga follows events in Episodes 1, 4, 5, and 6 films. There are 6 campaigns starting with Basic Training playing as the Wookiees which teach you the basic mechanics and concepts for playing RTS Games, followed by the Trade Federation’s invasion of Naboo, then for a change of pace with the Gungans campaign you hear/play the tale of “Boss Gallo” and after the tale is finished you retake Naboo. The next campaign you finally get to play as the good guys: the Galactic Empire, led by Lord Vader promptly after the Death Stars Destruction and assaulting Yavin 4 and concluding with everybody’s favorite snow planet. Then the next campaign you play as the Rebel Alliance scum who must have their turn of course. Then lastly, we return to the Wookiees as Chewbacca works to liberate **** final two campaigns were added in the Clone Campaign Expansion. Following along with the Confederacy and Republic respectively. The interesting part of the Confederacy campaign is you’re playing as a Force sensitive Chiss named Sev'rance Tann… who was made exclusively for this game to act as agent of Count **** the whole, I’m pretty easy to please when it comes to Star Wars stuff, “Star Wars but RTS”, “Star Wars but FPS”, “Star Wars but pinball machine” I’m happy with all of these things… as long as the game isn’t unreasonably unpleasant to play… But when it comes to story there wasn’t much here to write home about, but it wasn’t bad either… a whole lotta “meh”. Gameplay: The gameplay is standard for the RTS Genre: you will gather resources, build buildings, train troops, research technology upgrades to further increase efficiency and troop abilities, and battle on land, sea, and air. Typically, you win the game by defeating the enemy and destroying all their stuff before they destroy your stuff. (In the campaign they sometimes shake up the gameplay loop by making you lead a set group of troops into combat without being able to train new troops and juggling resources; I found these levels to be the hardest and required the most save scumming to beat)There are three gameplay modes: The Campaigns, Standard Game, and Custom Campaign. The Standard Game has the same settings as a Multiplayer game, think of it as “quick action” where you select your race, the maps, the settings, teams, etc and just jump right into the game, building up your base and trying to beat up the other people first.I think Multiplayer can still work in theory, you have TCP/IP, LAN, and serial connection options… But I’m not about to jump through the hoops downloading software to get it working. As always, there are dedicated fans of these types of games who have taken the time to mod them to make them more playable. Conclusion: I have played Star Wars Empires at War, I haven’t played Star Wars Force Commander (…Yet), but in conclusion while Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds Saga didn’t stand out as an RTS, it did remind me of a Command and Conquer or Warcraft RTS but with a Star Wars Skin on it. Which is perfectly fine! I wish I had grown up playing this game, I would have loved it at the time! But as it stands up today, it’s a little more rough around the edges and you can tell it’s aged.…I’d say Galactic Battlegrounds is a Real Time Strategy game first, Star Wars game secondary. If you want both of those things, give it a try… the game has aged and it shows. But it’s still playable and you can always build up a huge army and crush your opposition!Unfortunately, I doubt I’ll be coming back to this game again. But if you’re up for playing an older RTS you could do much worse! The game goes on sale often feel free to pick it up for a few dollars. …There's more to the review, but I'm out of Characters... MULTIPLAYER CAVEMEN

User ScoreAtratzu
Aug 11, 2025
-Quick Review-Multiplayer Cavemen is a 3rd person survival crafting game… if it was a polished completed game, but it’s not. The game I played dropped me into a glorified tech demo with loud music, incomplete skill trees, and shoddily animated 3d models running around aimlessly and attacking me immediately.I was hoping for an entertaining multiplayer game to play with my friend group, but what I experienced wasn’t even entertaining to play for a few minutes. Multiplayer Caveman was developed by Archor Wright and released in 2023. Gameplay: I don’t want to turn my review into a hit-piece, however I want my reviews to provide an accurate critique and to also provide a service to anyone who’s genuinely curious about Multiplayer Cavemen. So, I’m going to list out the things I noticed were wrong with the game.- After playing the tutorial and loading up the game properly I first noticed: Items keep spawning nonstop on the ground around me. If you just stand in the starting hut, you’ll see items drop into the world around you every few seconds.- Maybe that would be neat and useful, however you already have access to every item in the game! Press the letter I… You might think “I for inventory?” No, I for "give me item for free"... It's basically console commands but with a graphic user interface! ...or creative mode always on… It would be nice if you could toggle it on or off… or if there was something you WANTED to build, but I could copy past 3d assets in blender with an easier user interface and better customization controls… …If you want to BUILD stuff play any number of other games: Minecraft, Gmod, Valheim, Terraria, the Forest, to list a few on the top of my mind. My point is you’re not going to play Multiplayer Cavemen to build stuff.- Next when you drop into the world you are immediately attacked by everything that can see you. Is this a combat game now? I thought I’d punch tree’s and gather rocks or something like most survival crafting games start out with… but no, you’re instantly fighting monsters… and it’s nonstop! It’s like the spawn rate was turned up way to high or something… …good thing you have infinite weapons if you stand and wait around at the spawn in location.- Okay… maybe this game is a beat-em-up, or more combat focused? Nope… Everything dies from "run backwards in a circle and swing weapon" strategy. It’s as simple as that. You can cheese the AI very easily, once again this doesn’t give me the impression that any real thought was given to the game… just that assets were slapped onto a map and CTRL + P (Print it).- Even worse… the Skill Tree and Options Menus are grossly unpolished. For the skill tree’s there are MANY “N/A" skill icons, with the description placeholder text saying: "Here you can describe what the skill is about"! - So now we come back to the question: “What is there to do in Multiplayer Cavemen”? The answer: Nothing... What's the point of building, gathering or hunting? You don’t build because you’re either being swarmed by NPC’s wanting a piece of you, or/and there’s no point in gathering or hunting because you can spawn everything into your inventory for free.- Next I have a note about the animations being… Weird… I could actually forgive this one …maybe it’s trying to be like its goat simulator or something… But combined with everything else it just makes this more of an unplayable-unfun-unentertaining-mess. It’s just yet another nail in the coffin for why I didn’t enjoy the game… albeit one of the weaker concerns.- Unlike this next one… can somebody tell me why the Games Title and Developer’s Name are ALWAYS in the upper left corner of the Game?!? Totally unnecessary, and the first video game I’ve ever played which has done this. It’s like having all footage and screenshots permanently watermarked! Which is fine I guess… but trust me, I don’t need a reminder while I’m playing what game I’m playing.- Next I’d like to note: NPC interactions are unapologetically self-promotional for other games the developer has made. Speaking of which, the developer "Archor Wright", has over 90 games in their portfolio and after glancing at some of the other products I can tell at least a few other games have very similar problems to this one. Conclusion: Hopefully this review has been helpful to anyone considering getting Multiplayer Cavemen, but in summary: I didn’t enjoy playing it, I won’t be thinking about it ever again, it’s a chaotic mess of ideas which are half-baked. I hope the developer improves in their future projects. If you want to know more, please check out my YouTube video!

Fable Anniversary is a Third Person Fantasy Adventure RPG, where you start out as a child, grow to adulthood, all the while making good or evil decisions which will change your characters appearance and forge a reputation with the people of Albion. Fable was developed by Big Blue Box Studios which eventually became Lionhead Studios and released in 2004. Fable Anniversary was released in 2014 and is an update/upscale/remake.Story: All stories must begin somewhere, and for Fable Anniversary you start as a little boy trying to earn enough money to buy a birthday gift for your sister. Right from the get-go you’re being given choices; do you want to take a bribe from the guy cheating on his wife? Or take the bribe and then go tell his wife? Or don’t take the bribe and go tell his **** the evilness spectrum, there’s really only two choices: the Goody-two-shoes-Angel route, or the Sinister-watch-the-orphanage-burn route. Some of my favorite choices were the occasional times I could do a bit of both… Beat up the wimpy kid… but then beat up the bully! …I woke up and chose violence on my villain play through, okay?As our little boy becomes a man, he will make more choices which will either help uphold the law or promote bandits and lawlessness. Killing bandits and monsters will get you renown and “Good morality points”, which go into the “good-boy” jar on the shelf. Killing guards and civilians or stealing from stores give you Evil morality Points", which go into the "bad boy" jar.Gameplay: You’re playing from third person view, your combat choices are: Melee, Range, and Magic (AKA “Will”). If you hit a bug with a sword, you get “Strength” experience, if you shoot a merchant with a cross bow you get “Skill” experience, if you Zap a bandit with electricity you’ll get “Will” experience. In addition to these experience pools if you kill something you can gather up green orbs which give you “General” experience which can be used to round off skills you unlock after you’ve used up the respective experience **** primary gameplay loop is “Hero, there’s another quest card at the guild for you!”, then you go to the guild, pick up the quest, and go run over and save Mr bigglesworth from a tree or something, for money, fame, and glory! Someone’s gotta save ‘em, why not me? (Unless I’m being evil, then I’ll capture and sell ‘em to the highest bidder)All of this should probably sound pretty standard for RPG-style-games, protagonist get stronger by leveling up, equipping gear and weapons, to take on scarier harder monsters and take them down. Where I think Fable shines is in its “theming”, the villagers commenting on your hero’s appearance while running around with their English accents, the music in the background as you do evil or good things your character’s appearance changes, the fantasy-esk world of Albion, the more cartoony stylized characters, these were staple themes I recognized right away having played Fable II. I missed them and while playing Fable Anniversary they just hit the spot for a game I really was looking forward to playing! Conclusion: Fable reminds me of Grims fairy tales… the ones which are magical, but people die! Overall I’d say my experience was positive and I’m glad I have Fable Anniversary in my game library! However, it’s clunky, you can tell it’s an older game with slightly improved graphics painted over the top of it. I don’t think that should discourage anyone from playing it, but just be aware of it going in.I’m going to keep praying to Avos that we get Fable II on PC someday… maybe I’m doing it all wrong though… maybe I need to bring “Gifts” to Skorm… Hey, you wanna go for a walk with me? Nah, nah, it’s fine, it’ll be fun. Also ignore that evil sounding background music. …There's more to the review, but I'm out of Characters... Story: All stories must begin somewhere, and for Fable Anniversary you start as a little boy trying to earn enough money to buy a birthday gift for your sister. Killing guards and civilians or stealing from stores give you Evil morality Points", which go into the "bad boy" jar. Gameplay: You’re playing from third person view, your combat choices are: Melee, Range, and Magic (AKA “Will”). -Quick Review-Revolution Idle is an AFK/Idle game developed by Oni Gaming and Nu Games released in 2024. Where you watch a circle go round and around. Each time it goes around you get higher and higher numbers. I’m sure there’s some mathematician magic going on here, but I’m over here like “Number get bigger, and circle move faster, make brain give me the good drugs” Gameplay: At the core of any idle game the concept is: Run the game in the background, or let it do stuff while you’re offline… log in and check your progress, buy upgrades, and then exit and check in again some other **** Revolution Idle the presentation is made with the graphic of a multi-colored circle which makes Revolutions. As you buy upgrades the circle[s] will go faster, if you buy a new color a new colored circle will make revolutions… As you’d expect, the more you play the more you can automate the process, the more upgrades are made available, and you’ll continue to get new little ways to multiply the numbers to make them keep going.Your objective? Other then to keep getting the bigger number, you want to get the numbers so big you reach “Infinity” … But then you’ll need to do it again, and then do it again, then you’ll unlock some new stuff and try to “Break Infinity”. And the game goes on and on, with achievements, secrets, and more upgrades. Conclusion: When I compare Revolution Idle with other idle games I’ve played it’s pretty good. It kept my attention; however, the progress isn’t very fast. You’re looking at somewhere between 300 to 500 or more **** play style was typically to have the game running in the background while I played something else, OR I would check in quickly a couple times a day while working on something else. Thankfully my progress was tracked when I switched between playing on my Desktop and Laptop computers. …There's more to the review, but I'm out of Characters... Middle-earth: Shadow of War is an Open World Adventure game set in the Lord of the Rings Universe developed by Monolith Productions and released in 2017. You play as Protagonist Talion a Ranger from Gondor who is actively running around recruiting his own army of Orcs to go to war with Sauron. While Talion runs around recruiting orcs there will be a few standout examples of orcish personalities who you might like and want to support them in their career to become warlord… and others who you will come to hate with every fiber of your being, and if you could, you would revive them so you could keep killing them again and again. (It’s me, Vindict-Tzu) Story: This is a story of a Ranger from Gondor who meets a Wraith of an old Elf who made the rings for the big bad guy in the Lord of the Rings Universe. With the help of emo elf-spider-woman and a newly forged Ring of Power, Ranger and Wraith will need to work together to raise their own army of Orcs to stand against the might of **** elaborate on my oversimplification, there’s a lot of stuff I liked about the story in Middle-earth: Shadow of War! You obviously know nothing will happen to any of the main characters (For example, you know Sauron can’t be really defeated, or if he is he’ll only be suspended until the Lord of the Rings Movies start…), But you’ll get to see a few familiar faces like Gollum and Shelob.Speaking of the SPIDER…. Shelob’s apparently got a face too, and a human body? I went down a rabbit hole looking up stuff on Shelob to see if there was some backstory thing I didn’t know about, and my takeaway is: …I’m under qualified to talk about Lord of the Rings Lore… and some people who ARE knowledgeable about the lore are very unhappy with Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War. So, I’ll just say this much: If you’re a deeply invested fan of LOTR’s and know the lore, brace yourself for what Monolith Productions has wrought.…For the rest of us, It’s okay. I like playing a video game set in this universe! Gameplay: Right off bat with the Gameplay, I’m going to say: This game controlled fine on my PC, but controlled much BETTER on my Steamdeck, because mechanically the controls are better with a controller then keyboard and mouse. Don’t get me wrong both ways ARE playable, but I could tell immediately this game was primarily designed for controller support with a bit more clunky choice of key bindings for keyboard and mouse.Regarding the gameplay loop, Shadow of War felt like a psudo hack-and-slash Open World game, but once I realized I’m not getting experience for killing grunts my strategy for how I play changed to my Assassin’s Creed approach: Ambush my enemies then run away to set up the next ambush.Seeing as Middle-earth: Shadow of War is an Open World game, you can expect to run around doings lots of mini objectives which all add up eventually in experience, gear, new skills unlocked, and story elements sprinkled in between the **** most interesting and unique element to Shadow of War was recruiting orc commanders and the “Nemesis system” as a whole. My favorite interaction with an Orc was Killing an orc, him surviving and ambushing me in revenge… in his resurrected form he had some metal augments to his appearance, and after beating him again he looks at me and says “Better do it right this time… I don’t want to be called Iron Jaw for the rest of my life”.After you play for a few hours, you’ll unlock the ability to convert Orcs to your army and “TO SERVE THE BRIGHT LORD!”, This is the point when your game really free’s up and you unlock “strongholds”, where you can obsess over obtaining Commanders of different classes and buying upgrades for them, training them, sometimes losing them in pit fights but then recruiting the victor of that pit fight. Conclusion: I really enjoyed playing Middle-earth: Shadow of War… Even if I got mixed up and thought I was playing the first game in the series and turned out to be playing the sequel… I figured I was going to like it because I like Open World Games, I like Lord of the Rings, and I like funny little Orc guys.I picked up Shadow of War on a crazy good sale, and for like $6 this was a steal. As always: Patience wins out when it comes to buying games and saving money. Streamed it on my twitch for a bit… played it on my Steamdeck for about half of my time playing. I might need to pick up the DLC sometime for an encore. …There's more to the review, but I'm out of Characters... If you want to know more, please check out my YouTube Video or Steam Review.

Mass Effect is an RPG developed by BioWare and released in 2007, there’s a few things which set Mass Effect apart from “just another space RPG”, the game was developed with the intent to be the first chapter in a game series. So, the world had depth in mind from the start. Also, for the combat sections instead of taking turns where you pause the game to plan out attacks like in KOTOR you’re actively running, gunning, and taking cover in 3rd person mode. Story: You play as Commander Shepherd. Shepherds’ appearance, background, class and first name are all customizable. I decided to embrace the horror of the character customizer as I attempted to make the squarest looking jawline known to mankind and gave him blond spikey boy-band hair. (The story for Mass Effect is pretty good, so unless you WANT to be distracted every time you see your characters face, don’t go nearly as overboard as I did) Mass Effect starts out with Shepherd being sent on a mission to investigate a human colony of Eden Prime to recover an unearthed Prothean beacon. The mission goes wrong when suddenly a Cybernetic race known as the “Geth” attack the human colony on Edan Prime. To wrap up the first few hours of storytelling in Mass Effect, Shepherd and friends go on a galaxy wide quest to stop Saren, a rogue turian Spectre... but first you need to prove Saren is a traitor, then you get to explore/search all over the galaxy for him.Shepherd and friends will chase Saren all over the galaxy in the starship called the SSV Normandy. In addition to the main quest to stop Saren, there are a number of side missions, codex entries to be collected for even more information on the history and lore of the Mass Effect universe, and lots of dialogue to be listened too from random NPC’s and interacting with the different squad members Shepherd gathersMuch like in Knights of the Old Republic, there is a morality system, but rather than labeling choices “Lightside/Darkside”, in Mass Effect it’s “Paragon” for selfless virtuous choices, and “Renegade” for intimidating violent choices. You’ll unlock unique Paragon/Renegade dialogue options if you make enough choices to get enough Renegade/Paragon points. Gameplay: The two main gameplay modes in Mass Effect are: Fighting in 3rd person and having dialogue conversations with characters. I didn’t find the combat in Mass Effect 1 very compelling. At first, I was delighted at real-time combat, when I was expecting KOTOR turn-based combat… However, I quickly lost interest in the cover-based third person shooting and tried to beat the sections as quickly and with as much cheese as **** relation between Character Levels, Gear, and Skills, in regard to doing damage to enemies really didn’t interest me, so I just auto leveled up and equipped whatever new gear I found. The principle of “I see Green Numbers, I equip it” prevailed. When you’re not running around ducking behind cover and shooting the bad guys, you’ll be running around talking to people instead. Flying from planetary system to planetary system (There's a whole set of solar systems you can visit and examine, which at first overwhelmed me but you’re not able to actually land on EVERY planet in a system). Sometimes you’ll also need to navigate on the planet by driving around the All-Terrain Vehicle called the “Mako”, sometimes you’ll be unlucky enough to need to fight in the Mako too, my preferred method of combat was to try snipe people from as far as possible and dodge the incoming blaster bolts… before I take too much damage and need to redo the whole section. (I’m not bitter, you’re bitter!) Conclusion: On the whole Mass Effect was a good experience, my first playthrough took me roughly 20 hours… Had I owned Mass Effect instead of Knights of the Old Republic I would have played this game religiously and learned every little nook and cranny. Coming back to this game as a newcomer to the series… I’d recommend Mass Effect to anyone who wants to play a classic title, for nostalgia sake, or for the story/lore of Mass Effect. …There's more to the review, but I'm out of Characters... -Quick Review-Human Fall Flat is a physics-based puzzle-platformer developed by No Brakes Games and released in 2016. Where you’re dropped into the game, laugh at the funny animation and antics, wave your arms around, and puzzle/parkour your way to the end of the level.Hopefully you’re playing with friends, because this game is best enjoyed with friends! But you can play Human Fall Flat on your own or give the controller to your child to let them entertain themselves for a while. -Detailed breakdown review-Gameplay: The Controls for Human Fall Flat are pretty simple; you can play with a controller or keyboard and mouse, as usual I used Keyboard and Mouse. For Keyboard you move with WASD, jump with spacebar, aim where you’re grabbing with your camera which is controlled by the mouse, the right and left mouse buttons are used to grab with your ****’re dropped into the level (literally) and need to get to the end-goal-objective somewhere in the level. All the levels have different themes and are floating in space. If you drop off the map, you will seamlessly “fall-respawn” to the last checkpoint you **** of the biggest praises for the game is that the levels are fairly open ended. In other words the level can be finished in a nonlinear fashion; Once I get dropped into the level I can play by the rules and solve the puzzles to get to the end… …*OR* I can channel my inner spiderman and parkour my way to the end. There’s a total of 28 levels to get through, the developer No Brakes Games has released new levels over the years, which is always great! Personally I love it when developers keep making stuff and supporting their games. One of the strongest points for Human Fall Flat will be the Steam workshop which will give you downloadable fan-made-content for new levels and player skins! If you want to see just how far a game can go with community content just look at Garry’s Mod, or Skyrim. Conclusion: I’ve enjoyed playing Human Fall Flat. But I’ve had the most fun playing with a group while in voice chat… The problem is my friend group doesn’t want to play anymore, so I was stuck playing through the rest of the 3/4's of the game by **** I digress! It’s nice to occasionally play games which are simple, don’t have some deep lore storytelling thing going on. With Human Fall Flat, what you see is what you get. If you like it pick it up and enjoy! If not, give it a skip.

What a delightful little game! This is exactly the type of game I want to add to my library, quickly install it, play it for a little bit, and move onto another game. Sheepy: A Short Adventure is a free little 2d platformer mini-Metroid game which will take about an hour to play through, has great pixel art, great music, doesn’t overstay its welcome, and leaves you wanting more. Sheepy: A Short Adventure was released in 2024, and was developed by Thomas Lean and MrSuicideSheep. Story: The storytelling in Sheepy is done without any character’s talking to each other. There are optional recordings you can interact with and listen to the backstory of what happened to the world around you. There’s a dark undertone of something terrible which happened to the world due to a discovery made by the company “Belgin” deep underground. Very important note: you can make Sheepy Jump while waiting for loading screens. When you start out you only have one little hop, and directional movement, but as you play you get some new abilities, the music follows along with the gameplay and movement in such an amazing way. At the end of the game at the final run scene I stopped running to see what would happen and the music goes silent! And of course I’m a **** for pixel art, I was mesmerized by the small animations the developer did in the game, like spinning while on a swivel-chair… with pixel art! How do you even program that detail? There was so much attention to tiny details which really surprised me while playing! Conclusion: I would love to play Sheepy: A Medium Adventure, Sheepy: A Long Adventure, and Sheepy: A Grand Journey. While I’m partial to loving a short, quaint gameplay experience and wouldn’t want to lose that in a longer game, but I think making a 4-7 hour full fleshed out length game with the same pacing would be AWESOME. But not required, as it is, Sheepy: A Short Adventure is great, you should install it and give it a play! If you want to know more, please check out my YouTube Video or Steam Review.

I’m freaked out by the **** Ocean is the perfect amalgamation of “Fear of the unknown”. I’m afraid because I don’t know how deep the water is, I’m afraid because I can’t see as far as I’d like or I can’t see the ground beneath me, I’m afraid because I don’t want to drown, I’m afraid because I can’t move fast in the water, I’m afraid because creatures in the sea are drastically different than those on the land, but I’m most afraid because in my mind I’m being watched by something with really REALLY big teeth just outside of my vision waiting for its chance to attack me.Subnautica is an open-world action-adventure survival game, where you play as a survivor of a Spaceship crash on an unknown oceanic world. You’ll need to hunt, purify water, gather resources, craft tools, build shelters, and eventually/hopefully find a way off-world.Here’s the kicker; Subnautica has made me face my fears repeatedly. My short description for playing Subnautica is whenever I enter a new area: “Ahhh! Scary! New things! I’m afraid.” Then I get used to the new area and realize the creatures aren’t as scary and surreal as I thought, sometimes I even start to like them! …But then I travel to a new biome and we’re right back at square one with “Ahhh! Scary! New things! I’m afraid.” In a strange way, my fear-to-understanding-cycle has galvanized Subnautica as one of my favorite video games I’ve ever played. Story: There’s a lot of small loose threads when you start playing Subnautica. Where are we? What are these creatures? Why did we crash in the first place? Did anyone else survive? Slowly but intentionally these questions will be answered as you play the game. Some answers will come from Scanning plants, animals, and equipment… and other answers will come in the form of recovered Audio logs. Then some new questions will arise from Radio messages and visiting new areas.I refuse to say anything definitive about Subnautica's story, because the less you know, the better. Personally, I found the pay off towards the end of the game completely and totally satisfying, and moreover I’m rather proud of myself getting through the game! Gameplay: Subnautica has some familiar gameplay mechanics, you can choose between: Survival, Freedom, Hardcore, and Creative mode. When you’re first dropped into the world you gather animals and resources for food, water and to craft equipment to further progress deeper underwater to retrieve new materials for still newer equipment and technology. One of the indicators of your progress was when you stop “finding new Blueprints”, and “Don’t see any new materials you haven’t encountered yet” for crafting **** Base building was pretty standard, select an area with a “ghost silhouette shape” of the tube or room you’re trying to build, then press and hold “build” to watch it automatically convert inventory materials to rooms, tubes, and furniture. You need to have more structural integrity to build a bigger base, you can increase structural integrity by building more base structures or reinforcing the inside with various building upgrades. There was a learning curve for Subnautica, the default key bindings were a bit problematic for me: I regularly cursed when I would tap Esc on my keyboard to try to close out of a chest/locker only to have the game pop up the menu on top of the screen. And sometimes I click incorrectly when I’m trying to interact with a button or a chest. I had to re-binding my interact key to E because I’m set in my old man ways. But otherwise, your basic controls were still there, movement with WASD, Interact, Equip and unequip items with the number keys.Another learning curve was repairing vehicles, I had a sad day pushing my Seamoth deeper than it could handle, and it just fell apart on me, and I had to craft a new one! I also didn’t realize you just use your “repair tool” to fix stuff too. I thought I was only fixing the escape pod in the first hour of learning the game, nope, hang onto that thing, you use it to fix EVERYTHING in Subnautica. Conclusion: The average accepted time to beat Subnautica is somewhere between 30 to 50 hours, my playthrough took me roughly 40 hours, but to be fair I was also livestreaming the whole experience on my twitch channel so that might have extended how long I **** can easily sink so much more time into this game by replaying it, you’ll get dropped into the world at a different location, but Subnautica is not procedurally generated, once you know the key landmarks you can find your way around pretty easily.I’ve absolutely loved playing Subnautica. It’s not perfect - stuff glitched from time to time, my favorite glitch was when I would find fish swimming inside my house. But I haven’t played a pure exploration-creative-builder game like this in many years! …There's more to the review, but I'm out of Characters... Star Wars Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith

-Quick Review-This has been the worst Star Wars game I’ve played so far. Of course, there’s always a loyal fanbase willing to take the steps to mod the game to improve the gameplay, and that’s the route to go to make Mysteries of the Sith playable… (and if you want to get the game, you definitely should go that direction) but I’m not reviewing Mysteries of the Sith: the Mod. I’m reviewing the game I installed by default on steam and boy do I have stuff to say about this game… but before we do that.Star Wars Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith is a story driven (toggle-able) first or third person shooter developed by LucasArts and released in 1998. You play as Kyle Katarn for the first four level then the rest of the game you play as Mara Jade. It’s part of the Jedi Knight Series, but that requires a reminder of the order of these games because the names don’t make any sense. First Game was “Dark Forces”, then “Dark Forces II”, next we have the expansion-game we’re reviewing now: “Mysteries of the Sith”, then there was “Jedi Outcast”, and lastly, we had “Jedi Academy”. -Detailed breakdown review-Story: There’s not much to say about the story in Mysteries of the Sith. There’s a short Cutscene before and after you finish the level. Calling this an “expansion” is fair because there’s less here than in any of the other Jedi Knight Games. The game starts out with Kyle Katarn training his apprentice Mara Jade. The first few levels are played as our boy Kyle when suddenly a New Republic base gets attacked by the Empire. After the first few levels are finished Kyle says it’s time for them to part ways because he’s discovered a Sith Temple on Dromund Kaas. You play the rest of the game as Mara Jade assisting the New Republic, you’ll deal with a Hutt and some Pirates until eventually Mara learns they’ve lost contact with Kyle on Dromund Kaas and she goes there to find him. Gameplay: I’ve gone on the record to describe the basic gameplay experience for Mysteries of the Sith as “Run through the level until you hit a dead end… then backtrack all the way to the beginning trying to find the one small hole/vent/door. Then you do it all over again, play until you hit a dead end backtrack until you find the stupid secret tunnel which lets you move on to the rest of the **** combat is broken up with your choice of Lightsaber, Blaster, Force Powers, and thermal detonators. You can toggle the camera between first- and third-person view. I played mostly in first person with lightsaber combat because occasionally Mara would deflect incoming damage, and I’ll take every advantage I can get. However, there were sections where all enemies were dramatically out of my range, and then I turned to Ye ‘ol Blaster Rifle to scratch those **** also have the typical Jedi Knight / Dark Forces UI with the Red Health and Green Shield Icon in the bottom left of the screen, and Ammo and available Force power in the bottom right of the screen.I only played the single player of Mysteries of the Sith, short of experimenting with character customizations and loading into a multiplayer level by myself. There aren’t any bots you can add to the multiplayer either, so you’re just wandering around by **** it’s worth noting that there is Multiplayer, and you can set up your avatar and lightsaber color. If you wanted to, you could set up a LAN game, you could probably play online too… but the network provider options are “Serial Connection”, “Modem Connection”, or “Internet TCP/IP Connection” for DirectPlay. First: I don’t have any friends who want to play this game, which we couldn’t get from playing any of the Star Wars Battlefront games. Second: IP connections are pretty hit or miss, I’m sure I’d need to troubleshoot and download something or do port forwarding to play online. However, just note there *IS* multiplayer, there are still people online who join communities for the Jedi Knight Games and would likely play with you if you joined those communities. Conclusion: Apparently, when it first came out the reception for Mysteries of the Sith was generally positive, with many people saying there was room for improvement. Even now you can see the pretty standard divide between people who like Mysteries of the Sith and those that don’t; part of the blame might fall on the port available on Steam for the poor condition I found Mysteries of the Sith, but this was my least favorite game in the Jedi Knight **** always you can do the work to fix the game up to make it much more functional, attractive looking, and more playable. …There's more to the review, but I'm out of Characters... Bubble Frog is a short 2d Action indie game developed by Timbo Johnson, released on steam in 2024, however the game was kick-started and some lucky people out there helped finance this game AND got a Gameboy Cartridge version of it!Review Video:If you don't like reading, or are curious about watching gameplay check out my video ****/JUJ1jlC3Yt8-Detailed breakdown review-Story: The story for Bubble Frog isn’t that deep, you play as a frog in a bubble navigating 2d mazes picking up Onigiri. This Crazy guy called “OniGary” Lost and scattered them all around the game! What a crazy kooky fellow, that OniGary… Matching the other crazy looking eccentric characters in this game you’ll encounter between levels to give you tips, hints, and positive encouragement… except for that one time the guy told me there weren't any spikes in the next level, and dang it wouldn't you know; the whole level was spikes. Can’t believe it.Bubble Frog’s story isn’t that deep, but if we’re thinking about other Gameboy games… There was a certain Plumber who was running around jumping on Goomba’s, Spiders, and Turtles which exploded… we all liked that game just fine.Gameplay: Bubble Frog has Two Game Modes: Normal and Hard. With a bonus set of levels called “Ink Zone”. Normal and Hard Mode have the same 50 levels, Normal mode has unlimited lives, and while playing Hard Mode you can only die 20 times before the game resets from the beginning. Ink Zone has its own special set of 10 levels which were designed to be much harder and will reset after you die 20 times **** controls are very simple. I played on the keyboard, and movement is handled with the arrow keys you jump with the Z key, and interact with the X key (You’ll only use the Interact key to flip switches or to read signs). Bubble Frog was set up as a Gameboy color game, so your Z key is your A button, and your X key is the B **** you’re lazy like me and don’t care about getting all of the Onigiri you can BLAST through the game in a few minutes on normal difficulty (and I’m BAD at this type of game. You know Flappy bird? I’m awful at it, and this is like a better controlled flappy bird). If you wanted to take your time to collect the Onigiri it might take you a couple hours… If you want to stop at any point you can quit the game and pick up where you left off with the Continue option. I was experimenting for science and you can only Continue your current game, if you start a new game on Normal, Hard, or Ink Zone it’ll overwrite that continue with the last game you played. Conclusion: In conclusion, I enjoyed my time playing Bubble Frog, it’s nice to go play retro games, and I know I don’t really comment on graphics and music in my reviews, but all of those keys were hit while playing Buble Frog, it really does feel like a game I’d put into my old Gameboy and play on car rides! Special thanks to Timbo Johnson for sending me this review copy of Bubble Frog, hopefully my review has given you a good idea for what this game is like and if you’d be interested in picking it up for yourself to play. …There's more to the review, but I'm out of Characters... Guacamelee is a Metroidvania 2d Platformer Brawler Beat ‘em Up, all mixed together and wrapped with traditional Mexican culture and folklore theming. Guacamelee! Super Turbo Charge Edition was developed by DrinkBox Studios and released in 2014, Just a year after Guacamelee Gold Edition Release in 2013. Story: You play as Juan, a humble agave farmer who goes into town and bumps into his childhood friend and love interest “El Presidente's daughter”. He also ends up confronting the Antagonist Carlos Calaca, a once famous rodeo Horsman before he broke his arm and sold his soul to the Devil to have his arm healed in time for the rodeo match. But right after he finished the match the Devil Dragged him into hell. And now Carlos Calaca is out for blood, performing ceremonies to unite the worlds of the dead and the living to subject everyone under his rule… and only Juan the Luchador can stop him! Gameplay: In True Metroidvania style, you start out the game with basic movement, dodge, a punch and a throw. One of the things I’ve loved about going back to play Guacamelee for a second time, is just how well put together the game is! As you get abilities, each power will correspond to a color block you can destroy. Not only are these abilities usable to access new paths in the game and secrets, you can use them for combos in the Beat-Em-Up section of the game, and they can ALSO be used on the 2d platforming. From start to end you’re getting new abilities, beating up enemies for coins which can be used to purchase new skills, costumes, and power ups to your health, energy, and Intenso. You’ll often have the chance to detour from the main mission to work on a quest or parkour your way by using the abilities you’ve unlocked to get chests with power **** style and music have held up well over these years and will continue to hold up well for years to come. Be it year 2017, 2024, or 2050. Just like I enjoy going back to old NES 2d stylized video games, so too will Guacamelee remain timeless. What is New in Super Turbo Championship Edition? There are two new areas: Canal de las Flores and Pico de Gallo. There are two new abilities: El Intenso and Pollo-Bomba. A New Boss: trio de la Muerte. And you can now play with 4 players for complete and total chaos, it was crazy enough trying to play cooperatively, but now you can drag along two more friends for party night. Conclusion: Ay, Dios Mío, What a game! Guacamelee is a great game, I cannot recommend it enough to really anyone. The extra stuff you get from this version of the game is nice, but mostly peripheral. What makes Guacamelee excellent is the style, the theming, the colorful world, the music, the humor, the charm, the quirkiness, satisfying controls, platforming, and it doesn’t overstay its **** always I cover way more stuff in the video, so I’d suggest checking that out if you’d like to see gameplay and want a break from reading my lengthy wordy reviews. But thanks for reading! I appreciate it, and hope you enjoy Guacamelee as much as I have! …There's more to the review, but I'm out of Characters... Boreal Blade is a team-based melee fighting game, released on Steam in 2020, and released on the Switch in 2019. Boreal Blade was developed by the beloved Indie developer Frozenbyte known mostly for their Trine Games. Unfortunately the community is basically dead, so if you want to play this game you should anticipate picking up extra copies of the game to send to your friends. Gameplay: There’s not really any “story” to speak of for Boreal Blade, and seeing as I got the game for a few friends and have a total of like 7 whole rounds under my belt playing Boreal Blade, that makes me an expert now, right? …No, definitely not… but I’ll do my best to explain how to play based on what we played around **** adjust your weapon angle before attacking or defending against an attack. If you hold down the attack, you’ll charge the attack for more damage. You can move your weapon with a whole 360-degree circle in front of you to attack up-and-down, right-and-left, or varying degrees of diagonal. You block automatically by having your weapon or shield on the correct side, but if you press the focus block button you’ll recover some health with the block. There’s currently 8 maps to play on with different terrain, obstacles, and theming. You can play 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, and Free For All. The idea behind combat is you’re arguing over something… like “Hands should be shaken”, and one team will fight for “Shake hands up and down”, and the other team is fighting for “Shake hands Side to Side”. It’s an amusing and purely aesthetic detail to Boreal Blade, but the resulting win will exclaim “Hands should be shaken up and down!”After a “debate” is concluded, you’ll gain experience to level up. When you level up you’ll unlock new weapons, armor, and character cosmetics. On steam that means I get a notification and get all excited thinking something happened, only to realize it’s just the three things I opened on the game. The groundwork was here for a really fun game, and I did enjoy playing it with my local friend group… Just a pity that’s the only experience to be had anymore playing Boreal Blade. Conclusion: Yet another lovely game with great potential and seemingly abandoned left to collect dust by the wayside. Boreal Blade was an interesting game to play, it’s nice to have in the library if any of us want to play a melee Viking fighting game… But that’s about it, maybe we’ll go back to play it on a whim, but probably **** it’s pretty easy to pick up a copy of Boreal Blade on a steam sale, but just know you’ll be grabbing some extra copies of the game for any friends and family, if you want to play the game with anyone. …There's more to the review, but I'm out of Characters... Star Wars Rebellion

You have no idea what I’ve gone through to play this game.Star Wars Rebellion is a Real Time Strategy, Grand Strategy Game Developed by Coolhand Interactive and released in 1998. Much like my obsession with the old Star Wars Flight Simulator Games, this is back in time when YOU MUST READ THE MANUAL WITH THE GAME TO PLAY IT, you’ll command troop movements, capital ships, special units, and the main cast from the Original Star Wars Saga across the Galaxy as you take the mantle of the classic Star Wars Conflict: Empire vs Rebels. If you don't like reading, or are curious about watching gameplay check out my video here: ****/do5_Z4PHDdo Star Wars Rebellion’s Story: Star Wars Rebellion takes place immediately after the Star Wars: A New Hope. Or for my fellow Star Wars Nerds, The Day After the Battle of Yavin. You do have some control over how the story progresses, but at some point Luke will go to Dagobah, Bounty Hunters will go after Han Solo to try to cash in on that pesky Bounty Jabba put on him, and if Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker encounter each other Luke will make the dreadful discovery of who Vader truly **** story is nonlinear, and some things can be completely avoided! Like in my game playing as the Rebels, Han Solo was never captured and Luke finished his training on Dagobah without interruption. We also stayed away from building anything major on Hoth, Bespin, Yavin, Endor and Tatooine. Gameplay: Let’s quickly explain the “Win Condition” for Star Wars Rebellion. As the Rebels you want to take control of Coruscant, and also capture Palpatine and Vader. As the Imperials you need to FIND and destroy the mobile rebels secret base and randomly placed Base while also capturing Luke Skywalker and Mon **** next thing to remember is Star Wars Rebellion is “Real Time”. The only time the game is paused is when you have the pause screen popped up, or you’re looking at the load/save/options menu. You can’t pause and read notifications sent by your helper droids, if you’re reading or taking too long to decide on something, you can know your enemy is already at work. There’s so much going on while playing Star Wars Rebellion it’s daunting to try to simplify it enough for a review. It’s real time, you’ll move Fleets from planet to planet, you’ll move troops on and off Fleets, you’ll send characters across the galaxy on various missions to gather intelligence, improve diplomatic relations, and more. You’ll need to manage mines and Refineries to maximize resources. You want a 1:1 ration; One Mine for every Refinery anywhere in the galaxy under your control. You’ll also manage Construction Yards building various facilities from Shipyards to planetary defenses like shields and cannons. While doing all this you’ll also be trying to work your way towards your end goal objective… to win the game. It’s really easy to get caught up in micromanaging all these different systems and riding the highs and lows. All that coming from someone who just struggled to play the game on the easiest difficulty! This is a game for people who LOVE strategy games! Conclusion: Did you know that when Star Wars Rebellion first came out, it received mixed reviews, and some people downright hated it? Since then, it’s definitely risen to be much more popular due to more of a cult following.I can understand some people not being interested in Star Wars Rebellion, especially today with how much work I had to do to figure out how to play this game. I messaged my brother with a screenshot of reading the manual and said, “I’d better get a diploma for all the work I’m doing to learn this game”. I’ll expect my certificate of accomplishment in the mail, in the comments, or in the steam awards this review hopefully earns (If anyone reads it).Star Wars Rebellion was great! I’ve never played anything like it, and I was floored by the expanded universe characters who made appearances! But once again, I think this game is perfect for the Ven Diagram of “People who like Strategy Games” intersecting with the circle for “People who like Star Wars”. If you’re between those two I strongly suggest giving this game a try. If not, the reception could be really hit or miss. …There's more to the review, but I'm out of Characters... Delta Force is a Tactical First Person Shooter, where you play as a member of the United States elite army special operations origination known as “Delta Force”. While a lot of information about Delta Force is very “hush hush”, it’s regularly used for recruitment and promotional material for the Army and you’ll probably notice it was very popular in media in the 80’s and 90’s, with the 1986 film also titled “The Delta Force” starring THE ONE, THE ONLY, CHUCK **** the time Delta Force was pretty good with pretty average graphics, but looking back on it, you feel less like you’re a member of an elite team and more like you’re trying to spot the funny looking pixels so you can shoot ‘em dead, before they shoot you dead in like one or two shots. (That’s a full set of Pew Pew). If you don't like reading, or are curious about watching gameplay check out my video ****/sfnsJ8GSd2M Story: There are five Campaigns each one is available to play at the start of the game, you can select between Peru, Indonesia, Uzbekistan, and Novaya Zemlya… Places I couldn’t have found on a map when I was in highschool. I also won’t find them on a map for you as an adult. You can google it for **** you finish missions in a campaign you’ll unlock more missions, there’s a total of 50 missions in Delta Force which are typically “Go to this place, shoot all the things”, occasionally you’ll need to blow up some trucks, crate or an object like an antenna or satellite dish, a couple times you’ll escort/save a hostage or Prisoner of War… But all times you’ll “Go to this place, shoot all the things”.There is a story for each campaign and an objective you’re working towards in each campaign, but I’m going to level with you; I wasn’t paying any attention to the briefing text before the mission. It was typical “action-game-story” stuff. For example in the Peru Campaign you’re taking down a drug Cartel, so you’ll have a mission to neutralize enemies, a mission where you’ll blow up drug crates, another mission to find a code book, and the final mission is to neutralize guards around a Drug Lords estate and then capture the Drug lord. In other words, “Go to this place, shoot all the things”. Gameplay: Now then, getting back to actual gameplay for Delta Force. You’re playing a FPS; movement with arrow keys and the camera controls with the mouse or the number lock directional keys. …It was a weird time when not everything moved with WASD… okay? Speaking of which, whenever I started playing Delta Force I inevitably reached for WASD and always ended up changing the active waypoint (“W” Key), and brought up Audio Commands (“A” Key).Speaking of mildly irritating key bindings, let me give you a MAJOR IRRITATING KEYBINDING. So you’ll spend a lot of time looking at the Map (“C” Key), and you’ll also be squinting to look into the distance for little pixel men who can shoot way better then you so you’ll use your Binoculars (“B” Key)… all well and good. Now hold onto your butts, what key is between your C and B keys on a standard QWERTY Keyboard? That’s right, the “V” Key! And pray tell, what does the V key do? IT BLINDS YOU WITH A BLACK SCREEN FOR A FEW SECONDS AS YOUR GAME TOGGLES BETWEEN DIFFERENT RESOLUTIONS!!! WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO DO THAT WHILE PLAYING A GAME? WHY WOULDN’T YOU JUST GO INTO YOUR SETTINGS? DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY TIMES I ACCIDENTALLY HIT THAT KEY AS I WAS GOING BETWEEN MY MAP AND BINOCULARS!?! …There's more to the review, but I'm out of Characters... Catan is a board game where you take a few minutes to take your turn, then wait an eternity as your slowest family member tries to figure out how many cards they have in their hand and if they can actually build a settlement or not.Catan Universe is just the digital version of the board game Settlers of Catan, but without the set up and put away time. Catan is a strategy game where you gather resources from dice rolls and earn Victory Points by building Settlements, upgrading to cities, having the longest road, largest army, or having special development cards.Catan Universe’s Client frontend was developed by Endava and its backend was developed by SuperNimbus. Catan Universe was released on steam in 2017, but it’s been made available on a lot of different platforms at different times, plus there was a server migration at some point too. I’ve played Catan Universe on Steam and on my mobile phone. It is cross platform, which is nice… but the game hasn’t always been stable (judging by all the negative reviews for people who lost their money), so I’d advise playing free to play, or only picking up the base game or find another way to play online with another client. Story: The Story for Catan could go in a few different directions… 1) The story on the back of the box. 2) The story of how Catan the board game was made 3) Lastly, I can regale you with my story of playing Catan over the years.1) The back of the Catan box reads: “Welcome to the uninhabited island of Catan, where you and your fellow explorers will collect resources, barter, trade, and build up for settlements to make flourishing communities”In my own words: You landed on this island, and you’re not alone! There are other rascals who’ve landed here and they took all the other good places! You gotta build up your forces before they do… but I would have just marched over an army and kick them in the shins, and that’s why I should probably be playing Civilization instead of Catan right now - don't mind me.2) The story for how Catan was made is endearing because it was made by Klaus Teuber who was inspired by the history of Viking settlers in Iceland and started working on the game in 1991, and Catan officially hit the store-shelves in Germany way back in 1995! Settlers of Catan continued to snowball in popularity to the point where he eventually became a full time game developer!3) I had a friend group where we played Catan together on Sunday evenings in the winter. I don't remember how it all started, but I took online college and found myself living in a small town with all of my highschool friends moving away, my younger brother a few of his friends and a young family opened their house to us visiting nearly every Sunday to play Settlers of Catan and play Wii Bowling or Bomberman.I’ll leave it at that but If you want to hear more you’ll need to watch my video. Gameplay: The best way to explain Catan Universe is to start with the Base game. You start the game by selecting where you want to place your settlements, the board is made up of various hexes representing different resources: Wood, Brick, Wheat, Sheep, and ****’ll also see numbers with dots under them, these dots represent probabilities this number will be rolled. The red numbers for 6 and 8 mean these numbers are the most likely to be rolled. When you roll the dice everyone who has a city or settlement on that number gathers the resources from the number **** may notice the lack of the number 7 on the board. This is because it’s the most likely to be rolled and has some special rules about it; when you roll a 7, if you have more than 7 cards in your hand you need to discard half of them. Then you also move the robber onto a hex which then blocks anyone from getting resources from that hex until the robber is moved **** the physical game as well as the digital game you have a card placed in front of you to remind you of the cost for building Settlements, Roads, Cities, or Development cards. Catan Universe simplifies some of this by making it so you can just click or tapping where a thing goes and automatically showing the cost. So if you tap between two long parts of a hex it’ll show you that to build a road there it costs one wood and one brick. If you tap on a settlement it’ll show you can upgrade it to a city for two wheat and three ore, etc. There are a few ease of life features in Catan Universe I appreciate, not just because it completely removes the time to set up and put away the board, you can also review how often a number was rolled in your game, you can toggle on a status bar which shows your total cards and turns red whenever you have more than 7 cards, you can also look at the status bar to show how many victory points someone has to easily track who’s winning. The Half-Life Series is really a story about a man and his crowbar. This platonic love story has been heralded as a classic within the video game community and was a better love story then Twilight …and Half-Life came out years before.Half-Life is an early First Person Shooter, and a Classic to Steam, having been one of the first available games on the platform when Valve still made video games, Half-Life was released in 1998. Story: Our story begins in the morning on the Black Mesa Transit system Tram at the Black Mesa Research Facility in New Mexico. You play as Dr. Gordon Freeman a graduate of MIT, having earned a Ph.D. in theoretical physics. Not that you’ll need to know any of that when everything goes sideways and Gordon Freeman is forced to take up crowbar against an invading alien **** you play you’ll encounter some military personnel who have been tasked with cleaning up this disaster, but part of that clean up involves the death of everyone in the Black Mesa Research Facility, especially Gordan Freeman as he has come to realize his true purpose in life: Button-presser, trigger-puller, crowbar-wacker. Gameplay: Half-Life was more tough than I expected. I was all confident walking into this game thinking “Hmmm, yes, yes, I’ve played many First Person Shooters, put me at your normal difficulty coach, I can take it”. I guess by that you can say I got what I deserved for being over **** game holds up very well, even though it was released in the late 90’s. I’m not sure if that’s more a testament to the good simple controls of the game, the simplicity of First Person Shooters, my experience with the later Half-Life 2 games… or some blending of all the above.Nearly all the controls were exactly as expected with standard WASD controls, crouching with CTRL, Interact with E, Flashlight with F, switch between weapons with the scroll wheel or number keys. There were two surprising mechanics I didn’t learn about until the end of the game. First: There’s a “Long Jump” you don’t get access to until the end of the game, where the scientist who gave me the module said “hopefully you’ve taken the Black Mesa Training”. NO I HAVEN’T TAKEN THE TRAINING, I THOUGHT I KNEW WHAT GAME I WAS PLAYING! Here’s what you do: While running press crouch and then jump. You can’t beat the game without it. After taking the training course (which I was certain I didn’t need) I learned you can also grab and pull boxes towards you by holding down the interact key and moving backwards. Conclusion: I’ve played and reviewed a bunch of different games from all kinds of different times; but I’ve always enjoyed having the chance to go back and revisit classic games. Other than going back to visit a classic game, or nostalgia for a different time… I don’t know what else you’d be doing by playing **** you’re interested in checking out Half-Life or thinking about buying it, you can always wait for a Steam Sale. I picked my copy up on a 90% off sale. I punch those numbers into my calculator and it makes a smiley face. …There's more to the review, but I'm out of Characters... Shut up, I’m fishing. I don’t know how many other games have imitated Animal crossing, I suppose there are games like **** Valley, or other House/Family/Fishing/Farming games. Webfishing is if all the animal crossing characters decided to go on a vacation to exclusively fish.Webfishing was developed by Lamedeveloper, and released in 2024. -Detailed breakdown review-Story: It was a dark and stormy night…Actually it wasn’t, it was a cozy weekend in October when I decided our collective gaming group should try out Webfishing, I’d seen a short video online about Webfishing and decided tonight is the night! We dropped into the tutorial zone as the default White Cat’s, quickly figured out how to move around and cast our fishing rods. Then upon mastery of the basics we quickly figured out how to customize our characters, some of us changed to Dogs, and we all changed up our faces and **** of us exclusively wore clothing he fished up, so we dubbed him a “homeless-beach-bum-who-was-provided-for-by-the-ocean”. My method was to try to make my character look progressively grumpier (Matching my personality). He started out as a Green haired Dogo with Goofy Side-eye jokes, but after unlocked eyes which looked like he had fought in Vietnam my character became more and more disheveled in appearance, so of course I had to purchase a cigarette cosmetic to match, and as I’ve continued to play, I unlocked an eye patch, and grumpier and grumpier looking faces.Webfishing can be cute, but it does have a bit of a raunchy sense of humor sometimes, like in the Titles and in item descriptions. Is this a bad thing? No! If anything the game is more endearing to me. Gameplay: Webfishing is either a Chill fishing game, or and idle chatroom game. It’s also kinda both. We enjoyed jumping into the game and voice chatting on discord, however some people might just drop into random servers to talk to people (but I’m not doing that). It’s fishing, so you’re only occasionally doing something, it’s relaxing. You find a place cast into the Ocean, River, or Lake… and wait for a fish to bite. It’s pretty easy to have a conversation while you **** fishing mechanics are simple; You can cast into the occasional ripple on the surface of the water to get a near instant bite. After you get something on the hook you click and hold the mouse button to reel it in. As you’re reeling in a fish, you’ll hit white bars on the fishing rod icon which require you to “MASH” the button for a certain number of times, after you’ve MASHED you can go back to clicking and holding. At first, I thought I had to mash the button the rest of the way to get the fish caught… Don’t do **** you got a bite, and your fishing rod icon has 3 white bars, one with 10, one with 15, one with 20. Once you reach the first bar you’ll need to button mash 10 times, then once you get to the second white bar you’ll mash 15 times, and lastly once you get to the third bar you’ll mash 20 times… After and between mashing you just hold down the button to reel the fish **** get better fish by using better bait, (“Better Fish” are actually the same fish but “Better Rarity/Quality”), better fish sell for more money, but better fish require more button mashing (it gets a little scary after you see a several hundred button mash fish on the hook), so unless you own a turbo mouse or an Auto clicking Macro or something, you’ll want to upgrade your fishing **** can upgrade power, reeling speed, catch chance, luck, and bait quantity. You can also pick up a variety of tackle which can help you catch specific sizes of fish, get extra bonus money each catch, or even to potentially catch double the fish! You can also buy many cosmetics such as facial features, clothes, colors, and accessories. Conclusion: Webfishing is great! Feel free to send me suggestions for chill relaxing games like this one. I didn’t even get Webfishing on sale; the price is already more than reasonable at five dollars! This isn’t a competitive fishing game, or a traveling fishing game… It’s just a cozy little fishing game to boot up and chill while you chat, or watch something on the TV, or watch my YouTube Videos Cuz that would be really nice of you.

Army Men

Army Men is a Top-Down Shooter developed by The 3DO Company and released in 1998. You play as plastic protagonist Sarge, and he’s usually dead because he got ran over by a tank, shot by a bazooka, ambushed by a squad, stepped on a mine, shot by a tank, melted by a flamethrower, ran over by the caravan he was escorting, accidental demolition incidents happen all the time too. Story: There is actually Army Men Lore! I haven’t deep dived into looking at any of the Army Men Lore, but there’s been several games, and even way back here at the beginning here there’s a story! There are 4 Factions of plastic Army Men we know of: Green, Tan, Blue, and Gray. Most of the story we get is from the Army Men Opening Video which is basically a call back to World War II Newsreels. I knew it was a call-back, but as a kid I didn’t realize just how closely it actually imitates those old Newsreels! Perks of coming back as an adult, I guess! There’s also a super weapon to be investigated. Each Campaign you will get part of a key to find and unlock this mysterious weapon to try to discover the weapon before the other armies do. Army Men has Three Campaigns and 9 levels for each Campaign (28 levels in total, the last campaign has 10 levels). Your first stop is the Desert, then you’ll fight your way through the Alpine Forests, and lastly you will travel through the Bayou to gather all three keys and stop the Tan army from unleashing this new potential super weapon device, and causing who knows how much devastation on the world as we know it! Gameplay: The controls for this game are kinda weird, by default movement is handled by the Number lock keys instead of WASD, when this came out there wasn’t really a standard movement control set up on the scene yet, some games used WASD, others used arrow keys, and some outliers (like Army Men) used the number keypad **** can aim with your mouse, but I recommend keyboard turning for this game, the mouse is a bit unruly and I don’t like it. But occasionally I reached for the mouse controls just to be faster at responding. The problem is you shoot with spacebar, and/or mouse clicking. Again, the controls are going to just be your biggest hurdle if you’re going to pick up Army Men… It’s completely unchanged from the game I played all those years ago. To its credit and detriment. Oh, and if you’re feeling adventurous; I remember trying to play this game with a flight simulator joystick, for some godforsaken reason I don’t understand. So If the controls aren’t convoluted enough for you, thankfully the rest of the game is pretty straightforward. Your primary weapon is either a normal or “Auto Rifle”. The Auto Rifle lets you shoot while moving, you actually shoot slightly faster while moving too! Your secondary weapon can range from Grenades, Bazooka’s, Flamethrowers, and Mortars, each one useful in different circumstances. Your third weapon can be TNT, Mines, Minesweeper, or a portable heal-kit. Getting familiar with all these weapons and utilities is essential to playing Army Men because you really can’t get anywhere without using all of them. Some missions you get a Mortar, other times you only have grenades. You also have three I’ll call them “Axillary” items on your F keys. Recon to see where every hostile is on the map. Airstrikes to ruin someone's day… and also drop a bomb on any location of the map. Lastly and my favorite: Paratroopers; this allows you to drop troops anywhere on the map. Paratroopers are my favorite because you then get a squad of soldiers who you can give them basic instructions like “Follow me”, “Green Defend”, and “Green Squad Attack!” They’re pretty brainless as far as AI is concerned, but they are just the distraction you need to make most missions so much easier. Conclusion: So the big question is “Would I recommend playing Army Men”? …And I answer you: Maybe? For the nostalgic, definitely. I’m so glad I replayed this game! It was a trip down memory lane, It took me 7 and a half hours to complete the campaign. I didn’t even remember if I even BEAT the campaign as a kid. It’s funny, I thought coming back to Army Men as an adult I might be slightly better at the game, and I am a bit more strategic and can play a little bit better… But on the whole, I feel pretty much just as terrible as the game as I did when I was ten years old. I got the “SARGE IS DEAD” message more than I care to talk about. But for many people with more “modern Video Games Tastes” Army Men is a skip, it’ll frustrate you, won’t make sense. Finessing the cross hairs around with light taps on the keyboard to change the angle which will be the difference between missing your target and hitting your target will just annoy you. But I like Army Men, I’m glad it’s on steam, and I hope to be back at some point with reviews for the sequels which I never played! …There's more to the review, but I'm out of Characters... Star Wars: Bounty Hunter

STAR WARS: Bounty Hunter is a Third-Person Shooter where you’ll need to weigh the pros and con’s of going into slow motion mid fight to scan your enemies to see if there's a bounty on them. Or just go through level’s guns a blazin’!STAR WARS: Bounty Hunter was developed by LucasArts and released on Nintendo GameCube and PlayStation 2 in 2002, it was ported by Aspyr and released on steam in 2024. Story: For those that don’t connect the dots, Jango Fett is from Star Wars Episode 2: Attack of the Clones. So that means Bounty Hunter takes place between Phantom Menace and Attack of the **** Plot is that yet again something threatens the galaxy, only this time Darth Sidious calls up Dooku and says “Hey bro, what’s with this Cult called the ‘Bando Gora’ didn’t you have a chance to kill their ex-Jedi leader? Also Find a host for the clone army”. And Dooku says “Hey no worries, I’m good enough to kill two birds with one stone…”The rest of the game is played as Jango Fett, tracking down the bounty on the leader of the Bando Gora Cult. You will cross paths with Zam Wesell, and obtain the Iconic Firespray-class Patrol Craft we know and love. Gameplay: STAR WARS: Bounty Hunter is a 3rd person shooter. You can play with keyboard and mouse controls, I would suggest playing with a controller. But even with a controller's thumbsticks, looking up and down is awful… There is a Camera Sensitivity slider… but unfortunately you can only change all sensitivity, instead of JUST vertical sensitivity. But I've dealt with this problem before while playing other video games… That being said the problem is about the same with keyboard and mouse controls… but I’ve seen some people are fine with Keyboard and mouse. You just kinda get used to whatever you need to deal with. (If that’s a deal breaker, that’s a deal breaker for you. That’s fine!)I wasn’t that impressed with the platforming in Bounty Hunter either. Jumping around without the jet pack is painful. Thankfully there’s only a few levels where you don’t have a Jetpack and there isn’t that much precise platforming. But when they made me platform I tended to fall to my death early and then decided to just continue jumping down into the Abyss because I saw something shiny…There are primarily two ways I played through levels in Bounty Hunter, at the start of the game I focused on being more meticulous in first scanning for bounties and then capturing the bounty before they decided to run into the line of fire and take a big ‘ol dirt nap. After the first few chapters I found myself dying a lot, and to offset my setbacks, I decided to pretend the scanner didn’t work, and gunned down everyone and their pet womp rat to finish the level. Both will get you to the end of the game and it is generally easier to ignore bounties, but I feel like the “True” Bounty Hunter experience is to sneak around, tag your bounties, engage combat, and check new people for bounties mid fight. When you pull up your scanner the game goes into slow motion where you can still move around and tag new found bounties, but you’ve also become vulnerable because you put away your weapons to analyze incoming targets. Conclusion: I feel like I haven’t had a very long review for a game which took roughly 16 hours to finish the main story (I’ve disregarded what the game itself told me… it told me I beat the game in 9 hours 31 minutes, but that’s a lie because it didn’t count levels I ****’s a Star Wars Game, it was a bit rough around the edges on console, it’s a bit rough around the edges with occasional glitches, sometimes I’d start a boss fight in slow motion because I was using the scanner… Other times bosses would get stuck on level geometry. At one point some guys showed up giving off severely-threatening T-Pose **** all in all, I’m content with my experience playing STAR WARS: Bounty Hunter. I think Star Wars Fans will prefer this game, it’s not some really super amazing game which pushes the boundaries of 3rd person shooter games. If you like Star Wars and/or the characters you’ll stick around for the story. If you’re feeling the itch to play an older gamecube/PS2 game you could pick far worse games to play then this one. …There's more to the review, but I'm out of Characters... 100 hidden cats

It’s hard to recommend or not recommend a game where I played for roughly 10 minutes and finished it. But it’s also exactly as advertised… Find 100 hidden cats; I found them. I just thought there might be more than one level.100 Hidden Cats was developed by Anatoliy Loginovskikh and the Art was done by Аlexandr Telminov and released in 2021. This is a continuation of at least 18 other hidden-object games, each which I assume at this point is exactly like this one where you load the game, click on every one of the objects you can find, and get a steam achievement for each one. I picked up 100 Hidden Cats on a 90% off sale this (2024) summer, because I wanted to pick up something different and the art looked cute so I figured “why not?”, In my mind I thought maybe there would be a few levels, or maybe it would be like a ‘Where is Waldo?” (Or “Where is Wally” for you UK folks)There’s one level, and you click on 100 Cats. I assume for the remaining hidden object games developed by Anatoliy Loginovskikh made it’s the same thing, find the 100 Turtles, Snails, Snails 2, eternals, cats 2, frogs, frogs 2, birds, bird 2, hares, mice, rams, dogs, fish, cups, gnomes, aliens, cupcakes, and mushrooms for each separate game **** conflicting point is: I don’t know that I’d personally buy a hidden object game for $2.. But it’s not like the asking price is too high. I picked it up on a 90% off sale after all… And unlike other steam games in this type of category this one actually delivers what you were expecting, and isn’t just an asset flipper or using stolen stuff. So in that respect these hidden object games are **** my mind, I guess I would compare this to a hidden object book you’d read with your kid or give to a child. It looks like on Amazon “Where is Waldo” books are going for roughly 5-8 dollars and that looks to be the curve for most other hidden object books, at least the one for Bluey was the same price… The problem is, the physical version of these books has roughly 30-35 pages. This game might fit into 3 or 6 of those pages. So maybe the value comes out pretty close.I’d personally prefer to just get the “Anatoliy Loginovskikh Hidden Object Master Collection” Where you would have all the games mashed into one steam game. If that ever gets made, I think that would be a good value. Conclusion: My goal in this review was to be like “Hey here’s the price of hidden object books”, and contrast that to this hidden object game. But if you want to get an easy 100 achievements for your steam profile, or you value the interactive element in this game over simply looking at a printed book, that’s perfectly **** I’ve played my share of awful RPGmaker games, and had some terrible asset flipped 3D platformer game keys sent to me over the years. And this Hidden object game was actually very pleasant, albeit very short. I only have 20 minutes in the game because I accidentally undid all my steam achievements when I saw on the store page how to reset the game… I wanted to reset the game, not the steam achievements. Oops! But what would I know? I’m just a random guy on the internet who has spent more time writing this review than the time I spent playing the game. LikecommentsusbscribefollowwatchmyvideospleaseI’vegotothersteamreviewsifyoufeellikereadingmore, I didn’t make a video for this game because I wouldn’t have enough to show to actually make the video… and I’d spoil the whole game with my recording. Thanks for reading!

Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition

Games just show up in my steam library, and when someone suggested I check out Age of Empires III, I found it in my steam library… having forgotten at one point I must have added it when I saw “Free to play” on steam, and clicked the button to slap that bad boy into my Steam Game **** knows how long it’s been sitting in my library? When I finally decided to install it and give it a go, only to realize it’s severely limited due to its free to play status and to play the whole game I’ve gotta buy the base game at full price… Nah, I think I’ll just wait for a steam sale and pick it up then **** of Empires III is a RTS (Real Time Strategy) game developed by Ensemble Studios, Age of Empires III was released in 2005, the Definitive Edition was released in 2020, and sometime in 2023 it went Free to Play, with the base game being sold at full price as DLC (people already owning the game automatically should have both though). Story: There is a Story Mode, I can only really comment on the first campaign and the first act of that campaign; the other two are locked without the base game. Each level has an in-game cinematic before it, explaining what’s happening in the story.Simply put, for the Blood, Ice, and Steel Act I story: You play as Knight Templar who’s-his-face chasing after middle-eastern-whats-his-name, you meet up and battle with capt-Ms-pirate-whatnot and eventually the whole group needs to come together to fight their true foe to save the world or **** least they don’t really leave you on a cliffhanger at the end of Act 1, you also get a nice CGI cinematic at the end of the Act to wrap it all up nicely. But the goal of a free to play game would be to get the player to buy the rest of the game… and I say mission successful, I would have preferred to just keep playing the campaign instead of stopping at the end of act 1. Gameplay: I’m going to start the gameplay section off with my usual reminder that when it comes to RTS games: I’m not anything special, I’m probably average at best and more likely I’m worse than average. The general idea of RTS games is to manage resources to build an army to beat up your enemies faster then they can grow. So you’ll be managing troop movements, economic developments, exploration, and to add another layer to the RTS dynamic, you can request shipments from your Home City. Each Civilization will have different strengths and weaknesses, I personally struggled more when the nation didn’t have cannons or artillery. There are 22 Civilizations in total, but you only have access to 3 at a time while playing Free to Play. Even with the base game 5 Civilizations require another DLC purchase.Generally speaking, your most important building is the Town Center where you can build worker units to chop down trees, mine for money, hunt or farm for food, and build more buildings. I would suggest checking out the Age of Empires III tutorials first, then do the Art of War missions to really have a firm understanding of how gameplay works. Conclusion: I don’t know if this review is for Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition, or Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition - Free to Play. We’ll go with the latter for now, but the good news is you can just download the game and decide for yourself if you want to buy the Base Game.I’m always Pro-demo. The more you can experience the game before you decide if you want to buy it, the better it is for the consumer. Offering a Free To Play Option seems like it was a good play for the Age of Empires team, the only downside is you still need to download the whole 50GB game, even if you only use probably a quarter of the content you’ve downloaded.Regardless, as far as I’m concerned, Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition - Free to Play is pretty good. It’s a win-win, win for those who want to try it out, and a win for those who want to save some money but still play Age of Empires III.I covered way more stuff in my YouTube video, which you can still checkout if you want to know more about my experience with Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition! There’ll be some overlap, but I think having gameplay footage + I’m the one doing the talking should make it better… Thanks for reading! …There's more to the review, but I'm out of Characters...
