We Got This Covered
On the whole, The Flash season 4 is off to a terrific start. Setting aside its past self-seriousness (and even taking light jabs at it along the way), the show appears to have recalibrated into something brighter, more fun and far more in line with the source material.

The show now has the space to give its core characters time to interact and have meaningful plot lines, even though the premiere is a little bit of a mess.

They stretched the plot out a bit too much, but it remains a great season, and the villain is fantastic.

This season of the show is so far my favorite by a longshot. From the samuroid, to Barry's return, to Caitlin's redemption, to Barry's new suit, to "this house is b***'n, to the plot twisting scene including the thinker, and that incredible hinting line I'm thinking", this season is epic in every possible way. update: episode two wasn't as incredible and likable as episode 1, but there were still bits of humor sprinkled throughout the episode, and the antagonist was pretty cool, technology controlling and all. This new episode also got the chance to show Barry's new suit, and ending with another cliffhanger involving the thinker. He had a conversation with his assistant, and then began to locate other meta humans, but just as the computer finishes loading, the episode ends, leaving us on a cliffhanger. Who will the new meta be? Hazard, a returning character, or a noob to the series?

The villain of this season is definitely the weakest in the series. I get that they wanted to get away from the speedster formula, but they didn't do it well.

While The Flash is consistently more fun than the other CW show I watch (Arrow), it has become quite repetitive over the past two seasons. It's always the same: a villain is introduced, said villain gets more and more powerful, Team Flash is unable to beat said villain, and then they miraculously figure out how to beat said villain when the city is on the brink of destruction. Is that the general outline of most superhero shows/movies? Sure, but over a 23 episode season this premise gets pretty old. I think that this still has lots to like for teen audiences, but I'm kind of over it at this point.

Oh my god, after how good seasons 1-3 were i was expecting a great season again, but I was SHOCKED at how bad it was, this season was so bad it almost made me stop watching the show all together, I was almost insulted by the choices they made, the villain was **** the story had no lasting impact, the characters were wooden, WHAT HAPPENED!

The Flash started out as a very well done TV adaptation of the DC comic series. However, it has degenerated into the usual morass of filth and mindless repeat programming that all networks seem to thrive on. The show, after the first couple of seasons, which were original and well done, now features adulterous sexual scenes for our youth to emulate, superfluous homosexuality which is injected into a scene but which has nothing to do with the object of the show, and show plots that are no more than mirror images of previous plots showing the poor and limited imagination of the writers and directors. This superhero, like those before him, is not faithful to the original intent of the DC comic series. The writers ought to be ashamed of themselves and the cast has lowered their standards by emulating yet another soap opera with all of it's drama and bleeding heart personality quirks in true modern super hero style. Has judgment day arrived on planet earth?
