I went into this series casually and ended up bingeing both seasons **** delivers exactly what fans of the movies want - filthy, unapologetic comedy - but surprisingly adds real character growth, heart, and some creatively bold episodes that elevate it beyond just raunchy nostalgia. Season 1 starts a bit uneven but finds its footing quickly. The Bennett family dynamics, especially Susan's emotional moments and Blaire's role, give the show more depth than expected. Standouts like the D&D-style chaos in spirit, the Thunder Buddies origin, and the strong finale made it a fun prequel that respects the films while carving its own path. Season 2 is noticeably stronger and more consistent. It hits top gear with creative swings - the D&D episode, Susan's prison parody, and the fake news finale being particular highlights. Ted's one-liners sharpen, the schemes get wilder, and the show balances crude laughs with genuine family moments better than before. The bridge to the original movies in the Season 2 finale was a very satisfying touch. 8/10: very entertaining, consistently funny - that makes me genuinely excited for more.

The first 5 episodes are great. Lot of fun. What you'd expect out of McFarlane vehicle. The only problem is Blair and her gf. Insufferable characters that are completely out of place in 1993. I get the dad is a Bunker-type, but seriously, free room and board and in return total disrespect and disregard for his opinions and views stunted as they are. Blair is always right and there's no room for dissent. I went to college in 1993 and this woke **** wasn't a thing. Episode 6, case in point. They created the embodiment of woke - point of view that reacts with violence if you disagree. The dad had to bend over and kiss her ass and she gave nothing. Even after he apologized, she forced him to add her gf. It ruins the show. Get rid of Blajr and this is a great show.

This is so ahh. I know this is a show before the event of ted and adult. But trying to buy cornography films and trying to smoke cr@ck, then get laid at a YOUNG AGE is crazy. Dont waste ur time on this

As a big fan of the Ted films, I was very disappointed by this series. The Ted character is everything I hoped, and the actor playing John was true to Mark Wahlberg's character in the films. If they were the whole show, I would be giving this a 9. However, those characters are almost a side show to the interplay between Matty, a stereotypical father in the 1980s/90s, and Blaire, an entitled super-liberal niece that lives above their garage. The problem is that the writing for Blaire takes attitudes, norms, political ideologies, and expressions of someone born after the 90s and puts her into a time machine back to 1993 to aggressively confront the attitudes and norms of that era without even a shred of respect or acknowledgement of what our society was like back then. Simply put, Blaire would have been raised in the 70s/80s, but the character has nothing in common with a Gen Xer of the era, and instead behaves like a bratty, entitled Gen Y that does not understand where any of the other characters are coming from. The show could have been a hilarious comedy, but is instead a social commentary on how much our norms and values have "advanced" since 1993, and it is sad indeed. I'm giving it a 4 for the 40% of the show that was devoted to the bong-filled antics of Ted and John.

Funnier than the films and had me genuinely laughing. It's a reminder that Seth MacFarlane can still actually be funny.

Genuinely hilarious show that takes you straight back to the 90s, the acting is great and all the characters bring their own unique stereotypes to create a unique family dynamic that will have you laughing out loud, Definitely worth giving it a watch!

Started a little woke, then threw all the build up out of the window to preach for 45 minutes how everyone who isn't woke is ****. F this, all of this and everyone involved!

Love how crude it is, genuinely funny. Was expected something watered down for tv, thank goodness for streaming.

I wasn't even a huge fan of the movies, but this show has good jokes and writing and it's hard to deny. Seth did good with this one, I hope it gets a second season!

We need more "comfort tv". Ted is a delight the intro music just sets you in a relax mood and the cursing from a cute teddy bear does the same. My wife does not like Family Guy or South Park, but in "they rent a porno episode" had her gutterally laughing. No real critic is going to put their stamp of approval on something like this, but this was the one show I was excited to be in our rotation, too bad it was only 8 episodes. Hopefully it doesn'tgo down like the Oriville.

A great premise and cast. It is brought down by its writing, the characters all speak and bring up topics and slang more suited for 2024 than 1993. Still though the purpose of the show is entertainment and to make you laugh, which it does.

Pretty disappointed with this show. I loved the movies, so I was excited when they said they were working on a TV show. Unfortunately, the world has changed alot since the early 2010's. Half of the jokes here are pretty funny while the rest ****. The last couple of episodes ruin the show by going too PC (lesbian couple and the evil right wing moron dad, ofc). My advice, don't watch this. Just re-watch the first movie if you feel like in the mood for a movie about a talking teddy bear.

Show has some good moments but for someone who grew up in the 90s all the “woke” stuff never existed. The show spends two episodes on identity politics and get ready for some lesbian scenes. They also don’t spend a lot of time on John and Ted. Stick to the movies this one is a bust. Time to go back under a rock.
