Dragon Age: The Veilguard2
Nov 2, 2024
What can i say that hasn't already been said. The game does open alright, from very early game though you do see its problems with character design and the dialogue. The quality of the design and writing is very poor. But several hours in when you get more interactions with your party, it when the experience becomes gross. I can't recommend Veilguard, its creepy and gross.

There is a gem **** here. The movement and guns all feel great to use. The artillery and airstrikes are just amazing. The game lets you get right into the fun parts of the game, taking part in a galaxy spanding never ending war, you can see how many people are playing, how much ammo is being expended. There is a constant stream of new items and upgrades. The server issues and monetization while not horrible, do impact the game somewhat.

The first Spider Man was great, this is more of the same. Just not great. The side missions, sections where you have to play as people who aren't Spider Man really slow the game down and ruin the pacing it was building. There are many cringe characters, dialogue and side missions.

Once again EA delivers a terrible PC port. The game that already suffered from unlikable and ugly side characters now is a ugly terribly performing game overall. The professional critics giving this a 80 or 100 score should be ashamed of themselves. They can't have actually played this.

Just Dance 20220
Dec 9, 2022
What a joke. Once again Just Dance is incompatible with the Playstation 5 camera. Doesn't even work with the Playstation 4 camera or the controller! You have to sign in and link the game to your phone, which only tracks one hand. Your hand, not your arms or legs or body. It's a dancing game where you only move your hand. Pathetic, I got a refund and i suggest you do the same.

We all thought it would be terrible, the previews with a different tone and characters that looked unlikable were worrying. The Devs dismissing concerns accusing everyone of haters didn't instill confidence. On release it turned out worse then we thought, Devs tried to hide it as much as possible with their embargos. But the buggy gameplay that might one day be fixed will still be over shadowed by a bland open world with cringe humour everywhere. Ten years after GTA 5 and there is less to do, worse vehicle handling and no Online mode. For a full price game.

Nintendo Switch Sports1
May 11, 2022
Nintendo Switch Sports suffers from the same problem many Nintendo games have recently. It has only 6 sports, 3 of which are very similar. It also has almost no customization options. Only one type of outfit and only two hairstyles for men at start. Without Nintendo Switch online you are only allowed to unlock 2 cosmetics A WEEK. There is no option to turn automatic replays off. Very poor offering, bowling is still fun though.

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands2

How you felt about Borderlands 3 will most probably tell you what you need to know about TTW Its a short looter shooter, which was the first let down. In a sword and sorcery setting there is very little magic and melee. Its all about the guns again, with grenades now being magic and melee being buffed slightly. Its biggest issue though is the cluttered and outdated Ui and the voice acting. There is ALOT of voice acting, and the voice actors put in the effort to be as annoying and grating as possible. One positive is that you can customize your characters appearance now, something hopefully future Borderlands games will keep. Main storyline wasn't very long, hopefully there is content added in the future.

I've crashed more in Cyberpunk then any other game in the last two decades. There is a good game in there somewhere. The setting and mechanics are interesting. But Cyberpunk suffers from horrible performance. Like really horrible, the view distance, fps, npcs and cars loading infront of you, the radio freezing the game everytime you bring it up. I highly doubt they are going to be able to fix this, they might fix a few bugs or crashes but they aren't going to make it look good. They lied when they said it played great.

While a great idea in theory, its execution of a Star Wars space fighter game is terrible. There is no grand campaign or custom sandbox or couch co-op. It's a very short linear game. Next time let us make our own character.

The Last of Us Part II2
Jun 19, 2020
The last of us 2 has most the same positives of the first, good graphics, enemy animations and ai and the setting. Everything else is so much worse though. After the fourth of fifth time i had to sit through a cutscene, then you are dropped into a linear level with roaming enemies i had to sneak past/kill i was getting fed up. Early on in the game you are treated to a wide open area that feels more free roam, but its an illusion that doesn't last long. The Writing, story and voice acting have taken a massive nose dive. Characters you loved make terrible mistakes and make choices you the player are unlikely to agree with. What is worse, as linear and forced as the story is you then are forced to see the consequences of those actions you had no control over. I would not recommend playing last of us 2. Just watch the highlights on youtube.

XCOM: Chimera Squad1
Apr 25, 2020
X Com Chimera takes away everything you like about the Xcom franchise and focuses on its weakest parts, the story and linear tactical missions. The writing is very poor and the characters and flat and unlikeable with no option to change them or swap them out for custom characters. Some of the mission set ups are interesting and having alien squaddies is alright but mods already did this. It was bad enough Xcom 2 retconned the first ending, now our time is wasted with Chimera Squad. This was a cheap low effort cash grab for the company while we all wait for Xcom 3.

Dr Kawashima's Brain Training for Nintendo Switch3
Mar 13, 2020
Nice presentation but its very lacking. There are only three mini games to play in multiplayer and its mostly just counting boxes and birds, not very fun. The games relying on the IR camera are very poorly done, it picks up paper and rock very easily but scissors takes time and moving your fingers around until it decides to pick them up. When it comes to picking up numbers drawn, it seems to ignore the number nine, it'll think youve drawn a six or zero. I've tried drawning nine in every style i can think off and it refuses to accept its a nine.

Unfortunatly this is a very poor party game from Nintendo. It's no where near the quality we got we Wii Party all those years ago now. 1-2-Switch is very poor in terms of gameplay and offers little. The game selection is boring and you'll never want to play it more then once.

Pokemon GO3
Jul 26, 2016
Very basic gameplay without the combat or features of the main games. Suffers from poor optimization and performance, the freemium model means they have your game save to server side for every time you usea item and time you touch a pokeball which leads to more data usage and chances of freezing then necessary. No trainer battles or trading with friends.

ZombiU3
Jan 23, 2016
The emotion and sadness over a character death is taken away EVERY TIME by a big "Sign into Network" coming on screen. Really Ubisoft? You push out a budget single player game with no online content, and then pressure us to sign in at a moment you should be trying to keep immersion? Zombi has graphics and game play that just don't cut it for a current gen release. The selection of weapons, enemies and locations is quite poor. Each level feels cramped and quite linear, you can't really get yourself into trouble or go looting and exploring. While it's price tag does offset this deficiency somewhat.

Sid Meier's Civilization V5
Sep 3, 2014
While Civ V is a great game, and probably the best turn based 4x game out, that is mostly because it has no competition. It has a lack of unit and civilization diversity, with poor patching and performance issues. The AI is as dumb as ever, despite it apparently focusing on winning the game, rather then just role playing a country. Some AI civs will go for a cultural, or diplomatic victory, completley ignoring their military, and being invaded by a neighbouring civ. Even offers to join the war on their side, or ask for open borders, to help defend them, has them ignoring you and not accepting, until they are eventually conquered. It also requires steam to install and patch, whether or not you purchase a physical copy of the game. A major let down. But like I said, it is still the best game of it's type.

Watch Dogs1
Sep 3, 2014
While it tries to make the open world genre feel more modern and relevant. It takes what could of been a great social media privacy commentary and turns it into a generic shooter, with an open world that is incredible empty and lifeless. The brief and random descriptions you get from street walking NPC's seems more like an attempt to hide how dumb and pointless they are, then add individuality to them. The 'Press x to hack' aspect is almost completely useless in actual game play apart from scripted segments in a few missions. Unlike the misleading trailers, hacking the world around your opponents is more of a waste of time then tactically useful. Popping out from cover and shooting/throwing grenades is the most efficient way to kill enemies, nothing new. The graphics are sub par, and it can't help but draw comparisons to Grand Theft Auto 5, a game that came out a year earlier, yet looks better and has more to do.

Ring of Red9
Sep 3, 2014
When it comes to WW2 style (its set two decades after) Mech RPG turn based games, RIng of Red is the best (and only) there has ever been, With an intriguing story and unique combat mechanics at it's disposal, this PS2 strategy game will make you wonder why a sequel never came about. Over the course of about 30 hours of play, you'll build up a team of variious heavy light and melee mechs or AFW's and battle across Japan chasing down a traitor and slowly uncover a larger plot. The combat while appearing simply at first, becomes extremely complex when you have to worry about more then just loading and aiming. Infantry skills, positioning, distance, daylight and special shells all come into play by an hour in and it might take a few play throughs to master this unique system. It's a must play for mech, or strategy enthusiasts.

Borderlands 210
Sep 3, 2014
The perfect fusion of RPG and 1st person shooter. It has everything you could want from such a game. Multiple classes, various enemies and (no bazillion guns) dozens of different guns with thousands of stat and appearance differences. The story line and dialogue is enough to keep you curious and entertained, with a few twists thrown in. Multiplayer in this game is how it should be, split screen and online, and even Splitscreen WITH ONLINE at the same time! Something other games should include. Overall if you like RPG's and Shooters, then this is a game you should at the very least, watch on youtube. It drowns you with fun.

Sep 3, 2014
Very disappointing about the quality of this game. Having to run around when installing, why do I need origin? I just want to play! Origin not working at first, and the support forum gave no help. Had to do research myself to get the game working. The game, overall lacks depth and content. There is just so little to do, the graphics look only slightly better, but the worlds feel smaller then before, with less for my sims to do, and WEAR! Overall this is a slight graphics update with much less to do then the previous Sims, and at this asking price, I expected a more full game.

Pokemon Y10
Jul 10, 2014
If you ever liked Pokemon, or have an interest in RPG's then this is one gem you should not miss. A complete update to the previous generation. Pokemon Y is the biggest leap forward for the series since it went to colour. The story is actually good for once, the combat is visually pleasant, there are hundreds of pokemon to capture and raise, a few hours in, and your team will be different from your friends thanks to the variety of pokemon to capture early on. The options that make the game to easy, such as exp share, and Battle style can be switched off. Character customisation makes you feel more attached to your character then ever. In closing, this game has the polish and play time you rarely see these days, and will give you, like myself, hundreds of hours of entertainment.
