A worthy successor to the original series and a sad ending to a legacy of sci-fi!

In all the gate travel from sg 1 and Atlantis why did they not build up a supply of zpm's and jumpers , plus some additional ancient chairs to protect not only earth but the alpha , beta , etc sites against any kind of enemy that they could possibly encounter ?

Stargate Atlatis fired the imagination from S1 E1 and I could niss an **** was building up nicely. The only silly thing was no way in real life would you have someone like Weir in chatge of something so vital, it would be the military full on ...However, we got used to this .... Then, shocj horror, original good characters were written out, a huge mistake, ut really started ti tuin the show. Then when beckett went, that really was it for me, he was like Scotty from Enterprise and he had a massive following ... huge mistake removing him... Next Weir was gone and I was gobsmacked when Sam Carter joined, old spin off character from SG1 and that really for me ended my days with Atlantis. Reading reviews, the writers wanted to mux it up!!! How stupid. I've seen one or two further episodes and more DG1 characters joined and really Atlantis has no further unterest for me .. Kill characters off when they retire nit when they are in full swing loved by fans... This is Sci F, not relaity... I expect the mindless will cotinue watching just for CGI effects... What a let down as this started off fabulous and far better than SG1.

It is a successful spin off that has the strengths of the original show and is unique enough to feel refreshing. I said a lot in my reviews that a strength of the Stargate show (and spin off) is the set up of characters and arcs. Many things will be build up and have impacts or developments in later seasons or were prepared in previous seasons to unfold. Then we have the actors. Joe Flannigan as John Sheppard, Rachel Luttrell as Teyla Emmagan, David Hewlett as Dr. McKay, Torri Higginson as Dr. Weir or Paul Mac Gillan as Dr. Beckett to name a few are amazing. Of cause we have later Jason Momoa as Ronon Dex, Christopher Heyerdahl as Todd and Michael played by Connor Trineer. I like the whole cast. Lore wise they add also a lot to Stargate universe like the Wraith, Genii, Asuran or the lost tribe. Also new concepts, technology, ideas treads. Especially the Wraith are more like humans than over the top Goa’uld as adversaries. The new galaxy feels familiar and new all together. However there is a limiting factor that prevents higher technology civilizations from being numerous. I go into details for the episodes in my season reviews. Overall a successful spin off that is entertaining. Not the greatest show ever made but enjoyable.

I like the show, but i wish protagonists didn't act like complete idiots so often. Also i don't like Ronon for being such a boring primitive, and Teyla becouse of embarrassing acting. Wish for continuation, but not like this Universe crap for angry teenagers, i couldn't even watch beyoud first season.
