It's a shame this show wasn't continued and is no longer classed as Cannon. General Grievous was never better!

Although it was initially meant as a simple promotional teaser for Revenge of the Sith, the 2003 animated series created by Genndy Tartakovsky became something much more: an essential narrative bridge for true Star Wars fans. With its distinctive visual style —rough, schematic, almost minimalist— and a storytelling approach that prioritized pure action and symbolism over dialogue, Tartakovsky pulled off something that seemed impossible: saying more with less. What began as a series of three-minute silent shorts evolved into a work with its own identity, one that not only explained key moments of the saga (like the origin of Grievous’s cough or Anakin’s scar) but also managed to stir emotions and captivate **** most fascinating thing about Clone Wars is its ability to condense epic moments, mysticism, and character development in just a few strokes. Anakin, for example, doesn’t need long speeches to show us his descent into darkness: a brutal duel on Yavin IV and one final look say it all. And while the animation might seem crude or exaggerated to some, it fits perfectly with the heroic, almost mythical tone of the series. Mace Windu crushing armies with his bare fists, Kit Fisto gliding through the water with lethal elegance, or Grievous’s chilling debut as a mechanical nightmare… these are unforgettable moments. It may no longer be part of the official canon, but for many, this remains the true missing link between Episodes II and III. And honestly, it’s hard to argue with the heart on that.

While I was at first unimpressed by the beginning of season 1 it won me over and at the end of the show I was truly a fan. The show itself tells the story of the Clone Wars between Star Wars episode 2 and 3 and can be viewed as shorter prototype for the more famous later Clone Wars TV show (This is not canon anymore with the new show). It was produced with a small team and in two weeks according to director Genndy Tartakovsky. The result was amazing and shows what is possible even with a small budget if you put hearth and passion into it. I must warn you that here on Metacritic they mixed up the season labeling. Season 1 on Metacritic is actually season 1 and 2 while Season 2 is actually season 3. The visuals are not that good and I found them limited but will say they improved during the show. Especially some characters look strange at first like Palpatine and Ventress. However the aesthetics and style were great and impressed me. The stories are immersive and enjoyable. They put a lot of character development, battles and interesting stories into the short run time. This won me over and the more I watched the more I enjoyed the show. With this out of the way lets go to my rating.
Season 1 (First 10 episodes) aka Season 1 on Metacritic: They try their best to give us breathtaking battles, duels, characters and stories. With the above mentioned limitation I think they did well enough. I also think there is not much to say more than this. Overall it is a project that despite its limitations won me over. The first season is not that good first but improves. I give it a 7/10 in regards to the limitations and short production time. For this it is excellent and other shows could take an example.
Season 2 (Episode 11-20) aka also Season 1 on Metacritic:
This is were the show gets really good if not awesome. We get a badass Mace Windu, Yoda to the rescue and a General Grievous who makes his later incarnation look like a pathetic joke to name a few. Also a lot of development for Anakin or his first steps in another direction in an epic challenge. While the visuals improved it is not as good as the other Star Wars shows. The style and story however easily erase this weakness. It was intense, enjoyable and well crafted in regards of story telling and ideas. Overall this is a hell of an improvement a I will give a 9/10 as it was more than satisfying.
Season 3 (Episode 21-25) aka Season 2 on Metacritic:
It deals with the aftermath of the humiliating defeat of the Jedi by General Grievous who is a badass here that makes the later incarnation look pathetic, a final adventure for Anakin and Obi Wan and the start of the battle of Coruscant that is continued in Revenge of the Sith. The stories are immersive and enjoyable. Alone the adventure o Nelvaan is worth watching but we get also all Jedi masters in action. Overall this is a satisfying conclusion for the show and I will give a 10/10 here.
Overall evaluation:
I think I do the math and give a 9/10 (26/3= 8,7). It is enjoyable and I recommend it for Star Wars fans.

Gendy makes this series Star Wars' best entry highlighting the action and showcasing all of the different ways that Jedi's and clones can fight with creative action throughout.

Me encanta, es lo mejor que hay en cuanto a Star Wars en la televisión. La forma en la que las imágenes hablan por sí solas, esa elegante foto y el uso del silencio. A mi parecer es uno de los mejores retratos de la galaxia jamás hecho.
