The six episodes are perfectly paced. .... Slow Horses is unusual: a long-running show that hasn’t had a drop-off in quality.

Slow Horses is unafraid to stick with what makes it unique. Few shows weave together competing storylines so effectively, stopping and starting just as our attention wanes. Even the brief crumbs about male rage and violent rhetoric inspiring violent political acts are cleverly, but clearly, woven in.

Another great series with plenty of excellent acting and some superb scripting! Oldman in particular continues to be a tour de force, delivering some excellent wit! His character is superb! Lowden is awesome in this series - what a great actor he's become! As the series progresses it continues to be excellent. A decent storyline and some good action scenes delivered with a sense of reality. Loved it and would definitely watch it again!

The writing is impeccable, the acting is top notch level and the "bad reviews" is by people who doesn't want to believe that the extreme right is creating a real life problems. This is right now the best TV show on air and it's not afraid to push boundaries.

If the season holds back on the fireworks and fights, it compensates with more narrative and comedic and even dramatic justice than the pleasantly pessimistic series typically delivers.

Despite those quibbles, you know what you’re getting with Slow Horses. The performances remain superb, the script is as sharp as they come, and the comedy/action balance is handled beautifully.

If Slow Horses Season 5 proves anything, it's that even an installment of this show that favors a back-to-basics approach is still definitely worth tuning in for.

It’s not a steep enough drop to allow for concern that the writers can’t immediately get it back in the 6th outing (and the preview for that at the end of this season is thrilling) but it lacks some of the spark of the best of the show, in part because of a rushed plot and the characters it chooses to highlight and sideline.

The Slough House screw-ups continue to entertain, even though this particular story’s mix of intensity and comedy doesn’t always gel.

Good episode, too bad that it's still VERY BBC: Meaning no white male is good or polite or capable, and only women/men of color can do good things. Even River was 3-4 times made to be an idiot or an ****. If this kind of thing doesn't bother you, then it's going to be a good season. Just don't expect any white males to do anything good on the show.

Oof! Season mostly was a female power fantasy. The males are eiither evil or stupid, vain, sloppy, sexist or bad at their jobs. Nearly every argument between the sexes was won by a female. i really loved the show so far but this was too much. The male antagonists were all shot, but not the female, no way. The dimwitted mandolk is lost but the princess can be saved! I hope next season there’s a balance again.

Sadly season 5 has gone fully dei/BBC in its latest production of season 5. Writing, casting and production are comparable to the first few seasons, but there's an extremely obvious political leaning towards the current agenda politics in UK and this feels out of date and disconnected even tone deaf in 2025. If you can chew your way through the grit of those issues you'll see there's still the idea of an entertaining show to be found. But my god do I have to chew to get through this (3 episodes in so far).

Wow, first episode and already we have a right-wing anti-immigration nationalist incel gunman. So original. YAWN. Well, the critics will love that. But I think I'll stop here, thank you. My time is too valuable for predictable and boring.
