This is one of my all-time favorite shows now. I don't watch it until the season is nearly over so I know I can rush into the next episode without waiting. Each time I think I know who it may be I begin to question myself due to the other turns with characters. The acting is solid, the filming is solid and the characters are mostly relateable. It doesn't play up the teen angst thing too much and instead weaves a great narrative for each person's motivations.

I am so stuck to the show, might be on of the best series i've ever watched, and at this point i am just hopin for a new season! The mix between humor and horror or what you call it, its a nice twist

The first hour of Scream is an efficient fright-delivery system wrapped inside a teen drama, but it’s meta-commentary that makes it worthwhile. That, and the pilot’s promise to spread out its jump scares more slowly and deliberately.

The performances are bland, robotic and uninteresting--clearly these actors were recruited for their looks, rather than their acting chops. And most of the main cast white, which is inexcusable in this day and age and completely unrealistic.

Scream is a great show and appeals to its targeted audience in numerous ways. Audrey Jensen is played by an amazing actress.There are many plot twists and lots of drama. The characters are very realistic and relatable. Its very MTV esq. which may not appeal to the original movies fans as much as the teens following MTV. Overall, the cast is great and I hope for season 3 and so on.

A "quiet" series that whether you watch it or not, you lose absolutely nothing and doesn't add much. More than a spin-off of the films, it is a completely anthological series with respect to the original product.

"Scream" tries so hard to create a new classic, with its own mask and its own characters, providing a lot of twists and of blood. Too many twists, in my opinion, especially in season two, where everything felt too messed up. No characters, no realism, just blood. But maybe THIS is the meaning of "slasher". A simple story full of plot holes that people watch just to know who the killer is.

Good characters, good setup but the silly girl with their pink phones and maddeningly poor string of decision making make this too hard to watch. In a movie, that works over the short term but in a series, repeated failures to tell anyone about their secret texts and phone calls is just too much to suspend disbelief. They need to find a more creative way to get there without assuming all teenage girls are vacuous, empty headed idiots. The writers need to try harder.

"Scream" was a transformational film when it was released in 1996. It started a new wave of horror and transformed the genre. It was clever and was as much a send up of popular culture as it was a standalone horror film. "Scream" the TV series, produced by MTV, is none of those things. It's attempting to update the story to what life is like now, but the pilot fails to create compelling characters, is burdened by some horrific dialogue, and accomplishes nothing in its first hour. The opening scene -- meant to be a recreation of the iconic Drew Barrymore scene -- is terrible, as is the rest of the show. This feels like what happens when out of touch adults try to write catchy teenage characters and dialogue.
