We'll have to see how he sticks the landing and where things go after the rather large cliffhanger at the end of episode 5, but for now, "Peacemaker" is back, baby, and it still kicks major ass.

The gags and gore remain plentiful, but they’re not the dominant takeaways this time. Gunn even finds emotional resonance in the multiverse concept — something Marvel, for all its efforts in that dimension, has so far failed to locate.

It's a show that is so awesome, you get hooked following the life of Chris Smith, the plot is very entertaining and above all the characters are very well developed.

James Gunn has been one of his best films. Every episode draws you in without getting boring, and these episodes contain all the good things. John Cena has never played a role this well.

Peacemaker continues to be a funny but emotional superhero drama, with a surprisingly effective performance by Cena at its center, with a fun-to-watch ensemble around him.

This is just what fans of the first season have been looking forward to: an irreverent, over-the-top, adults-only good time with enough heart beneath the crudity to give it a real impact.

Anchored by great work from John Cena, Peacemaker’s second season raises its already high bar with a well-judged blend of heart, madness, and an ass-kicking eagle.

As good as it is, Peacemaker is still going through growing pains. It's messy and scattershot and occasionally overindulgent at turns, but as we saw with Superman, that's all part and parcel with the new (improved?) Gunn. We can't expect a perfect product when he's left to his own devices — but also, do we really need one?

It’s hard to deny how effective that comedy often is, especially as a pressure valve when things get too heavy, but it does often run counter to the overall complexity that Gunn has introduced into the narrative.

Overall, the second season of Peacemaker is a work marked by contrasts: while it deepens the protagonist with sensitivity and maturity, it also loses its way by taking on too many responsibilities within the new DCU. The series shows strength when it explores the traumas, family, and more human side of Christopher Smith, building scenes that are truly moving. However, this brilliance is partially overshadowed by narrative decisions that serve the future of the universe more than the story of the season itself. Even so, the humor remains sharp, the action remains entertaining, and the supporting cast delivers great moments. The season gets it right when it looks inward, but stumbles when it tries to look to the future. In the end, it works better as a transition than as a natural evolution. Still, it leaves good ideas and powerful moments along the way.Translated with **** (free version)

Peacemaker season 2 was ordinary. The story had a good premise but the most interesting part, the alternate universe, was under used. When you finally know what that universe is about, you barely pass one episode in it. The story focus too much on bad jokes, especially the first 3 episodes. The ending episode was stretched with 3 very long musical bits. That was infuriating. I give it 60% because I have some degree of sympathy for the actors. Otherwise is was a very boring season that stretched it's short story to no end, and did not utilize it's best ideas.

Absolute garbage compared to the first season. There is no real central plot or narrative this season. With nearly all tension disappearing whenever James forces in unbearably long and unfunny jokes. The first season had a main threat and goal that was present or built upon every episode. This Season feels very confused and unfocused, the writing when it comes to comedy went right down the gutter. Literally went entire episodes with a straight face. New DC verse isn't looking good to be honest.
