This movie was alright, I do think that it is overrated but it is still a good movie.

I’m going to mention that I am not watching this as a comics fan. I have no background in the “silver age” or the “golden age” of comics. I have the feeling that this movie is targeted at fans of those periods. But after watching this movie, I went to see various reviews, by critics, Reddit, rotten tomatoes etc.. And I am honestly baffled by what I have seen. So I’m writing this review, just so someone who feels like me can find it. I felt like this was such a disjointed, needlessly sprawling, almost random animated movie I have ever seen. I wasn’t really impressed with the voice acting, seems like the voice acting your would expect from when it took place (1950s), not when it was made (2008). Now of course, like I admitted, I have no familiarity with the content before hand.. but wow, shouldn’t the movie be able to stand by itself... I had no idea who some of the random heroes were (beyond the classic justice league, obviously), they weren’t explained, and honestly didn’t end up being important.. So much jumping back n forth between different characters, without any of their stories being fleshed out, didn’t seem like they were relevant to eachother.. They weren’t introduced well, the “development” was haphazard and didn’t land.. and the finale didn’t wrap Anything besides the fight. Oh and I love how Aquamans entire presence was to find Superman after he apparently died again.. I’ve now watched about 8 DC animated movies, so I have a lot more to go, I know that. But the new frontier was a long meandering, confusing, and for me disappointing experience.
