Joe Pera is the best amazing perfect. The only thing that can calm my anxiety in exam season and I bet millions of other AuDHD people feel the same (huge untapped market adult swim execs). Must be renewed ASAP. Boycotting all adult swim shows untill renewed.

My favorite tv show…ever. I never watch tv shows and I’ve watched every episode three times. I’m about to start over, in preparation for a friend’s JPTwY birthday dinner at a fish dinner place. (The best, i.e., brownest-food, one we could find in the SF Bay Area.) It’s better than Letterkenny. Better than Somebody Somewhere (although mad love to that show for allll of its ****!)

Joe Pera Talks with you is a soothing and heart warming show about the nice but curious things in modern world where many conflicts are either vaguely abstract or bureaucratically complicated. When those said conflicts overwhelm us, Joe Pera reminds us of beauty in sadness and the details hidden in plain sight, making us embrace those things that slip from us in hurry but calms us when we take our time to appreciate those sudden and often silly particularities. Joe Pera talks with you is such an important show in other ways such fast paced and hectic world where the time to step out of the frame and looking whats around seems to be a dissapearing quantity.

Watching Joe Pera Talks with You is akin to laying under a weighted blanket with a cup of herbal tea in hand—tucked away from the world for a while. This show is an incredible respite from the darkness that we’ve been living through and I feel immensely grateful that this show exists. I truly hope it gets renewed for a fourth season.

I don't understand how such a perfect TV show was created, it has motivated to me to do so much more in life while making me cry with laughter. Thank you, Joe.

This is a really fantastic show, gentle, funny, very well produced, some amazing characters. It has become a firm favourite, and the perfect antidote to the current chaos in the world.

My brother described this show to me as "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood for Adults", and I think that description is apt. Like Rogers, Pera speaks directly to us, the viewers, with a soothing, neighborly delivery. In a text to my brother, thanking him for recommending the show, I initially got the name wrong. I thought it was Joe Pera Talks To You, but I now realize it's actually Joe Pera Talks *With* You. I think that distinction is important. You need to go in with the understanding that this show is unlike anything else on television today. It isn't flashy, showy, or over-the-top. Instead, Pera chooses to focus on and amplify the simple beauty that can be found all around us. For your first viewing, I think it's best to watch this show alone with an empty house (if you can manage it), because unlike other shows, this one is an experience. You aren't just watching Joe go rock hunting, bean planting, and jack-o-lantern carving, you're going there with him. This show made me laugh a deep hearty laugh and, several times, cry. I again recommend doing your first viewing alone, if only so that you don't feel pressured to repress your reactions. I think this show is so fantastic that I created a metacritic account just to write this review. If you enjoy this show as much as I do, please consider writing a review or sharing it with a friend so that more people can experience Pera's masterpiece.

Can't describe my love for this show. Takes a little while to adjust to because it is very slow/quiet, but it does my soul so much good. It's funny, heartwarming and will make you think. I need more content like this!

There's nothing quite like Joe Pera. It has the calm hopefulness of old PBS shows like Mr. Rogers and Bob Ross and a subtle, absurdist sense of humor that is strikingly different from the loud, edgy, over-the-top sort of comedy that dominates most TV and standup. But what really this show apart is its ability to makes of devastating emotional weight come out of nowhere. I don't just watch to laugh; I watch because I care about the characters that Pera has created.

I think the world would be a better place if more people watched this show. It's a perfect blend of tragedy and comedy and it has helped me contextualize and grow beyond some of the most difficult times in my life. I can't suggest this show enough.

Joe Pera Talks With You is like cognitive behavioral therapy and meditation rolled up into a calm package of the best television i've ever seen.

I've never enjoyed hearing someone talk as much as I enjoy Joe Pera. He's calming and interesting. Surely one day, a lucky woman will take him to the zoo.

This is a calming and overall nice show to watch, its not a laugh out loud comedy it's just a calming and sincere man thinking out loud and i like that. It's very nice to watch and listen to and i highly recommend it.

I'm not easy to please when it comes to tv, and this show is the best thing I've experienced in a long time. This show is so special. It's hyper attuned to the quietly vulnerable/fallible aspects of people's personalities and social situations, but rather than pushing us to laugh at them, the show is a love letter those those moments. It causes me to laugh in a way that dilates my pupils and then makes me weep a little, rather than splitting my sides and making me feel superior in what I perceive as my normalcy relative to the characters and their antics (which feels like most comedy on tv today). It makes me want to walk outside and watch people and listen to them closely. Joe Pera plays a character who would be considered socially awkward and likely neurodivergent by most accounts. These sorts of main characters are usually either portrayed as lovable but ultimately a laughing stock for viewers' entertainment, or they are pathologized such that their ultimate triumph is overcoming their "differences" enough to achieve the kinds of goals and expectations that the rest of neurotypical capitalist society deems valuable. JPTWY falls to none of that. The show's fuel is Joe's intense perceptiveness, kindness, attentiveness to his middle class carework career, the breadth of his knowledge, and the beauty and comedy inherent in the subjects in which he takes interest. The people in his life are just as fallible and lovely as he is, and in very different ways, and the humor in that discord is ever so gently pulled above the surface and into view during their interactions. Also, for all its reverence of the mundane, it is incredibly unpredictable. It's so quiet in tone, yet keeps me on my toes at all times. I love that combination. Some might call its pivots absurdist, but it doesn't quite make it there for me — I think it stays just grounded enough. It seems aware of its own risk of floating away (meta-reflected in Joe's narrative tendencies), and even pokes fun at that sometimes. Anyway, it's late and this is ****'s honestly intimidating to write a review for a show that has given me so much comfort and energy since I discovered it. I want to give all the creators a hug and thank them!

Gentle, funny, relaxing, funny -- a perfect antidote to the pervasive shrillness and tension on the Internet. Joe Pera is medicine.

A calming show for a tired person just headed home from work. It's like Mr Rogers for grown ups.

The first review I've written here, but this is a unique and beautiful show. It is a honey-coated razor blade of a show and no matter how you attempt to watch it you will end up scarred. Leaving you better for the experience and feeling somewhat lighter as you understand someone is producing art that helps people relax.

Amazingly calming, in a society full of cynisism and sarcasm its warming to find something genuinly sincere and wholesome.

This show is truly something special, a relaxing voyage for all of your senses that adds beauty and self-reflection over calming comedy. Absolute must watch.

Joe Pera talks you to sleep is one of the best things I have stumbled upon in years! Not only does he incorporate wholesome humour which we seem to forget exists in this day and age but it also puts me to sleep as well as many other viewers! I watch the same videos on repeat every night without fail. I hope to see many more in the future!

Joe Pera Talks With You, actually anything Joe Pera is literally flawless. I just recently found him and his shows and can't stop watching... I can't quite describe the happiness that I feel watching; his perspectives, the way he talks, the scenarios he's in and the way he behaves and mannerisms among other things are helping me immeasurably to get over a point in my life where I've been feeling super depressed yet too stubborn to talk about and deal with my internal conflicts I've had for longer than I can remember. I've literally cried multiple times during the show as cheesy as that sounds. He's helping me turn the page and helped me realize that life is too short, and that I shouldn't take anything for granted, no matter how small. Thank you Joe Pera, you are a genius; I hope you continue to make this show and many others for a long time!
