Despite its occasional tonal inconsistency, Japan Sinks: 2020 is a frequent visual wonder.

The show’s limitations become apparent when it slows down midway through the season, no longer relying on the pure momentum of its plot twists and striking images of environmental devastation.

The plot, conventional as it is, may bring us to “Japan Sinks” and keep us watching, all the way through its ten episode story. The animation, however, is nothing to write home about. It’s flat, faces and characters and locales with little definition or depth. The color palette is washed out and the action TV “on the cheap” jerky, far more pronounced than you see in high quality, more elaborately animated anime.

This walking dead + Attack on titans. Not for the faint hearted. Art style is very nice and vibrant how ever the theme of the show is very depressing and in your face.

Nothing substantial but it wasn't dreadful. It was also redundant and the development wasn't the best, especially because there's no character growth and with 10 episodes to exploit your narrative that's a big sin. It's 50/50. It all depends on if you get to the end and obviously if you enjoy the ride or not

Goes from scary to stupid. .
EXPECTATIONS:
I was a little scared to watch Japan Sinks 2020 because it starts very gritty. It seems to be going for realism, because it doesn't use fictional names for news sources. They're literally called "Youtube" and "Twitter." It also doesn't pan away from **** or gore, even involving children. It made me feel how random and scary death can be.
.
PROBLEMS: Everything I just said, stops happening. A big chunk of Japan Sinks doesn't have anything to do with Japan sinking, or the horror of natural disasters. Like a lot of it happens in fantasy locations and characters get mystical powers. I went from being scared to rolling my eyes.
.
Also the characters make some confusing choices. Like one seems to be looking for any excuse to be left behind, like "I stubbed my toe, you should leave me" levels of dumb.

I think I never watched a movie that boring, bad writed and bad drawned all togheter. I mean it was irritatating every time that someone opened their mouth. I’ll give zero.
