Overrated. I suffered through watching this show so you don’t have to. There is no good reason for it to have such a high rating.

You know the drill by now with shows centered around feminist propaganda, and how they like to promote hate and toxicity towards men. This parrots that slop that typically comes out of holly-wood that formal critics eat up, and actual fans despise. This takes all your favorite heroes and basically portrays them as incompetent, unstable and basically unintelligible, especially the male characters (in general for both good guys and bad) all to prop up its female cast which it doesn't even do a great job representing their original characters. You got basically what you would expect in your typical woke propaganda machine as if running off a checklist mindlessly to shoe horn it in. You got your boss babes, lesbian lovers, insert male degradation here, etc - everything a growing woke show needs. Nothing really special here. I like Harley as a character but not this depiction of her. I much prefer her original interpretation in the 90s animated batman series where she garnered her popularity and whose character I believe was based on the person who voiced her Arleen Sorkin whom has now passed sadly (The first and best Harley to this date in my opinion). The injustice version of harley probably my distant second if I had to pick. Not fond of the rest and where they took her character in general following suicide squad forward. When you change the character, it puts the fans of her original character in a tough position. As much as I wanted to try to like this, the characters and jokes just did not land for me and were pretty cringe worthy at times. If they took a little of the feminine toxicity out of this and their portrayal of male superheroes/characters as foolish the show could have maybe been slightly bearable, perhaps up my score to a 4 or 5. Overall it still wasn't the best, and I think highly over rated. I also didn't like what they did with Nora Fries character basically making her out to be a hoe. As someone that grew up in the 90s and seeing how much she meant to Mr. Freeze it was a bit too much for me. So its not even really only the male characters that are **** in this show. Definitely a skip for me, and a bit of a frustrating watch. The only appeal really was that it was perhaps more matured themed? Or as mature as a show about a clown girl can be. But that really was its only saving **** the only thing perhaps that made it a little more unique. TLDR: Meh.

First of all, I'm so gay. Second, the series is really funny. Third, I really enjoyed the series. I love the little details, such as the girl locked in the tax book, which later influenced events. The characters are brilliantly created, my favorite is probably Bane (he is too kind, as much as I feel sorry for him).

Thank you Paul Dini and Bruce Timm for creating Harley Quinn, one of my favorite characters since childhood, both as a villain and as an anti-hero. it is well-written, and the animations are fantastic. Great show.

Worst show ever. Contains constant bad words, ultra violent scenes, and disturbing mating rituals. The show destroys Harley Quinn as a character. The original DC Animated Universe shows portrayed her as a cute, fun loving clown villain. But this version portrays her as a foul mouthed, mass murdering, psycho. They also ruined her design. If you know what's good for you, you will never watch this show.

A boring slog that parrots the talking points of Hollywood. It fails as an action show and it fails as a comedy.

This is awesome. As someone who has never really been that drawn in by the DC universe and never read comics, this made me want to explore it. Genuinely funny and intelligent with great commentary on society, mental health and the idea of a villain.

Not even going to bother I barely watched the first season, can't say anything, too disappointing and too overrated. This is a blasphemy, a bad copy of all the other rivals, they took and made everything that I don't like. I won't say more because it took too much of my time already. At your own risk try it. This show is pretty great. Some fantastic actors involved voicing the characters. It is definitely the most hardcore DC animation I have seen. What I like most is it is just fun. Anything involving Bane is hilarious and Harley is just off the charts.

Harley Quinn is a fantastic series and I absolutely love the portrayal of DC characters within the series. They humanize them and make them relatable in a way that is very rare. You know how some people say Dragon Ball Abridged is now their official head cannon of the characters? Same with Harley Quinn. I didn't give it a perfect score, frankly, it can be ham fisted at times as far as the writing, tone and general message. With that being said, I greatly appreciate them branching out and exploring other characters as well.

I love this show and I need more adult-oriented comic book shows like this. It's funny, it gets pretty violent, and I enjoy almost every single character the show introduces. This might be my favorite version of Harley Quinn in every media, arguably my favorite portrayal of Poison Ivy in any media, and likely my favorite version of Jim Gordon in any media. This show gets its source material and nails the humor, the characters, and all the overarching stories.

Such a funny show with great characters and writing. Made me really love Harley as a character.

A funny and thrilling adventure centering around Harleen Quinnzel. Kaley Cuoco's acting is as good as ever, the quality of the show is great and it's just all-around a fun show with twists and spins on normal DC characters.

An absolutely hilarious cartoon. I've still been going through withdrawals after running out of episodes. I love that all of these DC characters have been reinterpreted in a comedic way, but still feel in line with their mythos. There's plenty of references to other DC properties, Harley's New 52 comic run, and general pop culture, but it doesn't rely on it, and I feel even a casual DC fan would enjoy it. The show also has a lot of good-hearted and inclusive messages but always in a comedic light, so I don't think it ever feels in-your-face unless you're someone who disagrees with their values to an aggressive degree. The voice-acting is all great and I was really surprised with how much I loved Kaley Cuoco as Harley Quinn. I feel very tied to Margot Robbie in the movies and Tara Strong in older cartoons and videogames, but Kaley adds such a solid staple to the character. Just a great sense of comedic-timing, natural line-readings, and more humanity to the character. The relationship between Harley and Ivy might be my favorite portrayal of them so far. I have a love-hate relationship with DC animation, some of their movies just feel really stiff and lifeless to me. But this show is very exuberant and stylish, even in the casual conversations. The action is really fun to watch and gets especially brutal at times, sometimes leaning too heavily on shock-value but it definitely gives the show a lot of personality. My only nitpick is the first season had me dying laughing just about every episode while the second season was still funny but it's more dramatic narrative didn't deliver jokes at the same speed. It had its own strengths because I definitely cared much more about all the characters, but I hope the third season finds a more even balance between the two.

This show is awesome and put the comedy that would typically found in an adult swim show into the superhero lores and myths that have become so common in movies and television.

Great voice acting, genuinely funny. I can see why someone looking for something serious wouldn't be thrilled with this but I feel like it does a good job of incorporating storylines from Batman's history while doing it's own, modern thing. The only reason I subscribed to and paid for the DC subscription (... Then I found out that it had become available in HBO Max...)

Giving Harley's popularity I expected this cartoon to be family friendly. Boy was I wrong and I couldn't have been happier about that. The violence and swearing made for one hilarious cartoon. I was laughing my head off throughout the 2 seasons. Fantastic humour and animation. I hope it gets a season 3. This show completely surprised me. I'd like to own it physically on disc.

An extremely gripping story with excellent comedy and action alongside a wonderfully played out love story. It features an amazing main character that really does grow, learn, and develop and it has a truly fantastic supporting cast.

Wow. This show is way too forced. Both in vulgarity, violence, and relationships, especially Quinn and Ivy. Without Ivy, the show wouldn't exist, and probably the better route to save the animators time to make something better FOR EVERYONE.

Conclusion: If you are looking for a great and comic book series, this series is highly recommended for you.

I love it, mix of grotesque jokes, unexpected situations, blood and action. It's great!

I really wanted to like this show especially since it was well-marketed and the art and animation is phenomenal for an Americanized anime. While the narrative is fitting to Harley Quinn's style as is the feminist tone she's been associated with since conception, it's the overall ideology-forcing and complete lack of self-awareness that was the final nail in the coffin. Now the characters are pretty shallow and hard to relate to, and that's because the male ones are always portrayed as beta males or over-powered dunces without tact. It didn't feel empowering to females, but instead just came off as ignorant of how human beings interact. Batman is overly gullible and sensitive, Joker is just a **** rather than actually funny and clever, and many core villains are just done total injustice. I can't tell if it's bad writing or the author just wanting to portray men negatively in an effort to portray women positively. Clayface was a great character, Shark King was just okay though his portrayal left something to be desired. But oh my God they just butchered the handling of Dr. Psycho. Now Dr. Psycho was a character with a great deal of potential, lots of intelligence and emotion, clearly an underdog who got thrown under the bus for saying the word **** to his enemy. I thought his arc would be about embracing his offensiveness or growing into a leader in his own right, but instead they just spend the entire series having all his allies be verbally cruel, petty and hateful towards him. It left a bad taste in my mouth. Plus this one episode in season 2 where they just point out valid criticism of the show, but then pretend it's just bad criticism for no real reason by portraying the critic as a sexist hypocrite, made me want to leave this review. It made me think: "wow, this show was finally meta, and yet still managed to be totally self-unaware." Harley Quinn as a series is very very average. And if you want average, you'll get it. The author dropped the ball in making this more than just an average show. Great color work and animation, some characters are compelling and interesting such as Ivy and Quinn. But, taken as a whole you get a lot of character mishandling, heavy-handed ideology pushing, and an author that clearly hates their critics more than actually wants to understand the valid weight of the criticism. This show needed another author to fine-tune the characters to be believable and intelligent, to curb the heavy-handed ideology pushing, and to tell this author that men are not a bunch of **** ****. Did the author think women hate men or something? It really leaves a bad taste in the mouth and makes me dislike the author on a personal level.

The 1st season is funny and I liked me. not bad jokes and pretty animation and picture. and so love harley and poison ivy, they're great.

It has some pretty funny moments, really hilarious takes on some DC characters like Jim Gordon, Batman, Bane and Aquaman, and likable characters in general. The main storyline is kind of whatever and there's a rare cringe to be had. Still fun as a lighthearted quick show to watch.

Quite possibly the greatest thing the DC universe has ever created. Funny, silly, serious, gorgeously animated. The voice acting is exceptional. It's a superhero story that actually has something to say, and its entertaining as heck while it does it.

In this show, Harley Quinn breaks up with the Joker and decides to make a name of herself in the world of crime by forming her own gang. I loooooooved this show! Harley Quinn is one of those programs that is lucky enough that it starts out swinging and doesn't need to find its legs. The show is really, really fun with a wide cast of great characters. It also has a continuing story and under all the comedy does a good of providing an emotional backbone to Harley's journey. Kaley Cuoco (Penny from The Big Bang Theory) is excellent as the voice of Harley. I actually liked her better than Margot Robbie's performance, and bare in mind that I liked Robbie. Poison Ivy (Childrens Hospital's Lake Bell) is Harley's sassy straight man, and I think she is hands down the best television/film adaptation of the character ever. She and Harley have an excellent chemistry and the writers and actresses do a great job selling how two very different people are best friends. I'd love to go into detail on the strengths of the supporting and recurring cast, but I just don't have the time to discuss them all and the wonderful acting talent behind them. Just be prepared for some really clever reinterpretations of some DC comics characters. The animation looks nice, too. Characters manage to look humorous but still fit the superhero mold. Be prepare that this MA-rated show can be very, very, very violent. Since this is a show about supervillains, things can go really dark, too. Overall, I can't recommend this enough. Everything comes together so well.

Don't listen to all the negative reviews on here, this show is really enjoyable. Yes there's some messages about the world being harsh etc, but most of it is laid down to the fact all the villains Harley gets involved with are huge ****. People complaining about her relationship with Joker as well need to realise that it's her character arc throughout the season. He's an important part of her story and origin, so she needs to get away from that. For me I found the series funny and intentionally over the top. Most of the villains are played for laughs so people complaining about that need to reassess the series' tone. Really enjoyed it and would recommend it!

I was looking forward to an R-rated Harley Quinn show. Like Deadpool, the rating would allow the character to be fully realized. But, the final product just seems to be a hot mess that appears it was written by a teenager who is just copying what others have done better in the past. The show starts off really laying on the feminist message that men are dumb egocentric idiots, and women are superior. This is beat into the view from the moment the show starts and becomes almost unbearable during the second episode, not until you get past episode three, does it becomes slightly more tolerable. The humor falls flat as most of the jokes are not funny, and the overuse of ultra-violence is unnecessary and feels out of place. Speaking of the violence, except for a few scenes, most of the action involves men getting killed and mutilated for no reason other than for the sake of women empowerment. The cast does their job, Kelly Cucco brings her energy to the role but nothing new. She doesn’t even bother with an accent like all other Harley Quinn’s in the past have. This makes me feel like I am watching Penny from BBT, in cosplay. The best part of this show is Poison Ivy. Her friendship with Harley and her relationship with a villain called Kiteman shows that the show does have something it can offer other than the caper of the week non-funny violence fest that we have. DC, if you choose to renew this show for season two, please focus more on the inter-group relationships and less on the Ultra-feminist message and do not go for an R-rating just for the rating. Let the show and story justify the R-rating.

My favorite new show this year and probably on par with Doom Patrol for best comedy series on the DCU. The characters are excellent and perfectly voice acted. The fun spin they put on these classic characters is great to watch, and the twist to the classic comics formulas are excellent. I look forward to seeing more of Harley and Ivy each week and every new character has been spot on. Check it out! ...and don't watch it with kids.

its a great r rated dc villain tv show (you don't here that sentence that much) but anyway the show has great adult comedy and dark humor with excellent animations of and interactions between the characters and the cast choices are perfect for their rolls but overall its a great adult comedy greatly animated dc tv show about the secondary villain next to the joker but without the nice interactions between joker and harley quinn.

UPDATE AFTER WATCHING EPISODE 6: The show cannot stay away from Harley's traumatic rupture with Joker and her need to prove herself as a villain in his eyes. This would have been OK as one story arc, but as the one and only focus of the show I find it repetitive and a waste of potential for the character. If the intention was to appeal to the feminist fundamentalists, I find it odd that they have Harley continuously dwelling on her ex instead of moving on and doing her own thing. Will not continue watching. Writing this review after watching the first 4 episodes. As with most controversial shows / movies / games, the 9s and the 10s are as undeserved as the 0s and 1s. I see some people comparing this with the Batwoman show from CW; I think this one is much better than Batwoman, but it is true that it drills down on the "male toxicity" / anti-male sentiment that is becoming mainstream this days. Now with the comparisons out of the way, on to the review proper. The animation is good quality (it reminds me of the better made seasons of Ben 10, but with a bit more money), the voice acting is good and the writing is not bad, except for the shoehorned "men are evil" part. There is swearing and blood / gore, which surprised me as I was expecting a spinoff from the classic Batman animated series, but I actually liked that part. I am watching one or two more episodes: if the show keeps dwelling on the passive-aggressive demonization of men, I will stop watching it and allocate my time to Genndy Tartakovsky's (creator of Samurai Jack) Primal. If it explores other topics, I will continue watching.

I'll open and say that I am a big fan of adult cartoons and that I really expected this show to be great. I saw a clip from this show which made me laugh out loud and I decided I just have to see this. So I watched the first episode, then the second... I didn't enjoy them. Anyone who knows me knows I'm a big fan of the tough chick genre, why is it then, that no one seems to know how to make decent tough chicks? I know this is based off **** comic series of the same name and plot, but the way the characters are written and portrayed in this cartoon is awful. It's like watching a show from the 90's that was just written for teens using the lowest common denominator. Other than a couple of funny scenes (which are few and far in between) the entire humor of this show consists of cusswords and violent slapstick. This show seems to have been directed and written by people who thought Suicide Squad was a good movie, because everyone is written to be some sort of post-modern idiot. You got the Joker, whose abusive relationship with Harley is so compelling and tragic because he's diabolical and manipulative, portrayed as some dumb shmuck completely engrossed and concerned with his public image and tries to be some sort of teen magazine bad boy, going to the legion of doom like it's a 9 to 5 job and being all around more Jared Leto than Jared Leto. You got a wide cast of other villains played but what I can only assume is the cast of Daria back from MTV, because none of them are like themselves. This show was clearly written by clueless men for women, or even worse, by clueless women for women. Maybe a complex character like Harley Queen and the adult themes of her relationship with Joker could have actually been explored in an R rated cartoon and not turned into some slapstick as if abusive relationships are a joke? Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn are both intelligent academics and are both portrayed as the stereotypical boredrational and brashenergetic teenage girls, with no sense of the dignity they have in any other media. It's disrespectful to the characters and mostly to the viewers, when two women with at least a master's degree each are as smart as a talking Venus Fly Trap straight outta little shop of horrors who sits and watches TV all day. This show is tasteless, the humor is crude and lowbrow and the writing is terrible. Try to treat the subject matter a little more seriously, you're telling the story of a person, not a caricature, put some depth in the writing and character. The material this is based on is fit for a Greek tragedy to rival Sophocles, take a look at Bojack Horseman, the entire premise of the show is ridiculous to the nth degree, but it can portray adult themes and situations and get laughs and sobs in the same breath. It's a world of wacky animal people doing wacky things like going to the news over a box of cookies, or stealing the D from the Hollywood sign but it feels infinitely more grounded and relatable. People came to see Harley Queen, not some reject from **** Punch. Claiming this series has universal acclaim over 6 critic reviews, which by the way, are highly dodgy at best, showing once more that critics in modern society have absolutely no understanding of the art they claim to judge, or of complex ideas in general. I see Haleigh Foutch calling this show empowering, empowering? This is insulting. I do want to commend the voice cast for their talent, it's just a shame the direction and writing is steering it into the gutter. My best criticism is to drop the abundant number of curses, stop treating the characters as caricatures and start treating them as people. People are complex, there's much more to them under the surface and not just things that can be summarized in a 30 minute episode that goes into their psyche. Be subtle, introspection is not the only thing that shows character development. It's the little, passive things that happen when you don't notice them. All in all, I'd pass on this, to send a hard message to clueless writers and producers to stop treating source material as a joke and start really caring about what you're doing. Just because you can curse, doesn't mean you should. Just because you can be violent, doesn't mean you must. Batman the Animated show has had multiple episodes with these themes and plots about Harley and Joker and was better to convey in just a couple of them more than this entire show is. Shame on Critics for praising this garbage, this is not empowering, this is not what anyone should aspire to, it's just not good, but it can be if the writers fess up.

This show is utter garbage. This show makes the film "Suicide Squad" look like "The Dark Knight". They are clearly trying to grab audiences with excessive blood, gore, obscene language, and humor the equivalent of fart jokes. I love "Deadwood" and there is honestly more swearing in this show than that. A far cry from the thoughtful, well-crafted, and well written character that Paul Dini created in the 90s. The only reason I gave this a 1/10 is because the animation is actually quite nice.
