Hand of God’s strengths are its elongated scenes, enabling the characters ample time to play off one another.... The wheels keep turning but can take too long to get rolling while the plot hits some ruts in the road.

There are enough flourishes surrounding Pernell’s visions to maintain viewer interest, but after a while the pilot feels like a slog.

Well, I really don't understand the critics to this show. It is by far one of the best series I have ever watched. I am not a fan of any religion but I love the approach this script has into it. Every episode has hit and kept my attention with no drops and after 1st episode I was already hooked up. Both Season 1&2 are equally thrilling and extremely well performed. Please don't get confused; this is drama, but also action. And the main message is something we should all think over. I give it a deserved 10.

Amazing, cannot stop watching this. Finally an awesome show. I'd binge watch 100 episodes of this. Absolutely fantastic. I cannot believe nor understand why this would get bad reviews or why it would get cancelled, this speaks of how unrefined, superficial and dumb people have become.

Despite frequent predictability and other issues, though, we do get pulled into the story. Even if we don’t always believe the characters, or huge swaths of dialogue, we do want answers, to the crimes, yes, but also to whether the judge is a nutcase or the only sane person in San Vicente.

There’s a much more entertaining but less intensely violent show buried in Hand of God somewhere.

Amazon is currently in the "spare no expense" stage of original-content production, and it shows everywhere but in the story. Perlman is a strong and deceptively supple performer, but he isn't a miracle worker. Even bad crazy guys need a gleam of humanity, and Pernell has none. Delaney is mostly sidelined, as are Royo and Tal.... Dillahunt's ability to show this, to swing KD from brutal violence to soul-searching, is miraculous. It just isn't enough.

Created by writer Ben Watkins, Hand of God has the pace of a pulp novel anxious to keep an audience watching, heedless of believability or motivation.

It looks good. Sadly, that polished exterior hides a filthy, vile interior.

Excellent. Smart. Many levels. You have to see it a couple of times if you don't want to miss that treat . And a special treat it is as tv series are often pretty straight foreward. This one isn't. Excellent.

This show is amazing! I started watching it on Saturday morning and binge watched the whole season. This is not the kind of show I usually watch so i was very surprised I fell so in love. I would recommend this show to anyone looking for a unique TV series. YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!

Really liked watching this show, it pulled me in with some of its smoldering melancholy & slightly noir quality melodrama, in addition to the fact that some of the acting is really good. But, fundamentally the story and packaging is superficial, non-sensical and the whole thing reads almost 'camp' at times. ( A slightly more serious Dynasty). Much of the draw was the acting as there are a number of compelling performances, imv. It's one of those shows that I rolled my eyes while watching but still enjoyed the whole series as a late evening TV escape.

It could have been a good series - an interesting idea and some fine acting from Ron Perlman and Dana Delaney. But where oh where did they find the appalling Alona Tal? Not since David Harewood's laughably inept performance in Homeland have we seen such dreadful acting. Awful.

This is a show I looked forward to and watched 3 episodes before deciding it stinks. Everything from the plot to the acting is disappointing. I give it a zero.
