It dances along lots of tightropes without falling off. It is incredibly stylish without being self-conscious and it has energy to burn without becoming frenetic. There is always plenty going on and the twists and revelations are nicely paced, if not particularly groundbreaking (so far – I have watched half of the series).

All the moody pouting becomes a tad tiresome mid-series but recovers in time for a cathartic finale. As escapist entertainment, it’s really rather bewitching.

At six episodes, which seems economical these days, "Domino Day: Lone Witch" is just about right, even if there are overly lengthy sidebars into Domino's relationship with the normie bartender Leon (Percelle Ascott), with whom she seems destined to find something, uh, magical.

Her [Siena Kelly] performance was strong, as was that of Percelle Ascott as Leon, the nice barman boyfriend who she couldn't help but have a nibble at. .... But the coven of witches were less convincing and gave it the feel of a teen drama.

For now this felt like a rehash of other mystic dramas with a script that thought it was a bit more badass that it actually was.
