Cougar Town

Very few shows can get away with genuine moments of emotion while also incorporating the phrase "dead-baby tacos." [1 Oct 2010, p.72]

Midway through the first season, Lawrence, Biegel and the other writers realized their cast was so funny together that the wisest course was to just put everyone together as often as possible, let everyone be goofy, and see what happened. By the end of the season, it was often funnier many weeks than the "Modern Family" episode leading into it. And even with Aniston's guest appearance tonight, this is still the show that Cougar Town became at mid-season last year.

Finally, we have a show with all the memorable wit of Bill Lawrence's previous series, Scrubs, minus the inner monologues.

The show's a little frantic and more than a little crude, but the jokes keep coming and many of them score in this depiction of Courteney Cox as a newly divorced and woefully insecure mom of a teenager.

Cougar Town, on the other hand, is still finding itself, but it’s already much better than the title would suggest.

Bereft of better scripts, the cast goes through the motions, half-hearted and cheerfully dazed.

Cougar Town (which doesn't debut until Wednesday, but I wanted to give you time to disconnect your TV set) is downright unwatchable, an agonizingly unfunny gutter-ball that will almost certainly be the first of the new season's shows to be canceled.

Une abominable sitcom de bas étage avec l’anorexique vraie fausse cougar (avec le maquillage ? ou chez le charcudoc, on ne sait plus…!) Courteney Cox toujours aussi mauvaise actrice depuis ses débuts dans la sitcom-étron Friennes, Fientes, Fiends ou je ne sais pas quoi. Au programme de cette série de merde en tout cas, un humour super débile des sitcoms américaines habituelles qui nous rendrait presque fiers, nous les frenchies, de nos pires comédies à nous. Et bien sûr, de la grognasse et de la jambonneuse périmenaze plus ou moins hystérique, en veux-tu, en voilà, profite, c’est les soldes !
