Blue Eye Samurai

Blue Eye Samurai is a gorgeous, addictive thrill-ride that never loses sight of Mizu's point-of-view, even when the road ahead is obscured with blood.

The whole thing is an incredible, utterly badass example of how animation can be used to create worlds, characters, and adventure every bit as vivid as live-action, if not more at times. Choose your weapon and leap right in.

From its breathtaking action to its near-flawless animation, it's a rarity to see a series that is so confident with itself in only its first season. From the opening moments, viewers are immediately sucked in and will immediately be left wanting more as soon as the credits roll on the finale.

This is smart, cinematic entertainment and it is an awful lot of fun.

What sustains the series in the long term is its knack for crafting compelling characters and engaging drama, even if the end results land as more fun than profound.

Blue Eye Samurai has clearly been designed to unfold gradually over time. That means there may be plenty of time for the series to hone its dramatic aspects to match the sharpness and beauty of its fight scenes.

Stellar animation. I knew nothing about that show when I started to watch and had a good surprise for the big reveal! Voice cast does a great job, story introduces us to well fleshed out characters.

Sehr schön, ****, ich habe es bis zum Ende durchgezogen, denn künstlerisch wertvoll ist die Serie **** Hauptfigur ist durchaus sympathisch, und erstrecht ihr Begleiter. Das hat ein wenig was von Frodo und **** persönlich komme nicht umhin, alles mit Arcane zu vergleichen. Das mag so manchem seltsam oder dumm erscheinen, aber Arcane hat in Sachen Storytelling, Animation und glaubhafter Charaktere einfach Maßstäbe **** wenn sich eine Serie wie Blue Eye Samurai eine starke Frau in der Hauptrolle vornimmt, die durch Leid wächst und es allen zeigen will, naja, dann vergleiche diese animierten Serien eben **** Stil der Serie ist wunderschön und die Episode mit dem Kabuki fand ich tatsächlich originell. Die Animation ist gut, wenngleich lange nicht auf Fortiche-Level und offenbar waren hier sehr gute Künstler am **** doch... bisweilen hat die Hauptfigur Mizu so ihre "Mary Sue Momente". Ja, die Figur und die Serie ansich sind generell etwas überzeichnet und damit eine Hommage an die Samurai Klassiker... aber es fällt schon etwas auf, wenngleich nicht so sehr, wie sonst üblich **** dann wären das noch die ganze Nacktheit etc. Es wundert mich schon etwas, wieso vieles fast explizit gezeigt werden muß, obwohl es die Geschichte überhaupt nicht voranbringt. Creepy Hollywod, ey?Und es fällt auch auf, daß schon wieder beinahe jeder Mann böse oder ein Vollidiot **** es **** Fazit bleibt für mich: Eine wunderschöne Serie, die es aber versäumt, die Charaktere differenzierter zu zeichnen und allzu oft in Klischees abdriftet oder sich wieder mit Nacktheit und dergleichen versucht zu expositionieren. Vielleicht werde ich zu alt für sowas.

Typical Netflix. Beautiful art compromised by modern politics and white self insertion. Throw in a good measure of pseudo feminis, and a ton of homosexuality, and you've got Blue Eyed Samurai.
