Bad Sisters

The second season exemplifies what Bad Sisters does best: splices the ridiculous joy of life with its bleakest moments. It’s more sombre in tone than the first season, but as fiery, twisted and shocking, which will keep viewers second-guessing throughout.

Though season two is decidedly more dramatic, it still doles out some fantastic surprises, including several that made me gasp loud enough to wake JP himself from the dead.

The more you get to know J.P., the more you'll want to see him dead. ... If you’re smart, you’ll tag along for the ride. Few things are more satisfying than a guilt-free guilty pleasure. [29 Aug - 11 Sep 2022, p.6]

Bad Sisters is a brilliantly engaging thriller, with lots of laughs and an unpredictable storyline. While murder is never the answer in the real world, here you won’t be able to stop yourself rooting for whoever you have pegged as the murderer.

As a dramedy of errors, “Bad Sisters” doesn’t always feel like the freshest or most elegant execution. But as a family showcase, the engine is there to power this show through an ordeal of any length.

Ward and Graham’s odd-couple police work showcases both actors, and while there’s notably less comedy than in Season 1, sight gags and punchlines are diffused throughout.

The evocative portrayal of sisterhood, the impressive cast and the occasional razor-sharp gag mean it’s hard to condemn this as an unequivocally bad show – but it’s certainly no longer a particularly good one.

Morally it's a confusing one. It's not my first choice of action vs a non-violent but terrible family member, but it creates funny moments I guess. I wonder if the deconstructionists look at this and flip some of the characters and their sexes and/or races and see if it plays. My guess is no, but that is too deep, too deep. Great acting tho.

At least 4 episodes too long. After the first two you'll get the pattern and pretty much guess the ending. A cast of morally bankrupt characters, written by those that know little of civil law and police procedure, or even common sense come to that. Initially **** before half way becoming somewhat of a tiresome chore.

Stretched out by a factor of 2 - should be five episodes at most. Modest humor, plot is irritating. More suspense in this ?

Very atypical Sharon Horgan jokes and over the top acting. I’m sorry to say the best actor in it is Claes Bang as the nasty brother in law. The sisters are all infuriating (Bibi particularly is a dreadful actress, even Bono’s daughter has more talent) and the plot is predictable. When you are rooting for the ‘evil’ character, you know the rest are poorly executed!
