SiN Reloaded preserves the heart of the original: expansive levels, alternate routes, interactive terminals, and choices that can alter subsequent missions. Exploration remains its strong suit, whereas the gunfights show their age: enemies seek cover but rarely act as a team, and the pacing feels rather flat by modern standards. The remaster primarily improves textures and visual clarity, doing less for models and animations. The level selection is excellent, and the Vault—packed with historical material—is a valuable addition. It is a faithful and interesting revival, though inevitably showing the passage of time.

Sin was never a great game. Beneath all its flaws, though, Ritual Entertainment’s creation had something worth saving: ambition, personality, and the unmistakable feeling of a team eager to push the technology and do things differently. It also had plenty of cheese. No, Sin Reloaded isn’t a completely new game, but that was never its intention. It’s the same uneven, strangely memorable experience - only now one can enjoy it in 4K and pretend that was what was missing all along.

A nicely polished retro shooter from the second tier that brings plenty of good ideas to the table but also has some flaws—and there isn't much Nightdive can do about that.

SiN Reloaded remains what it always was: an ambitious FPS—creative in its approach to interactivity and localized damage—yet uneven in level design and constrained by the technology of its time. The remaster doesn't hide these flaws and even reproduces bugs from the original. For those who appreciate SiN or are curious about the genre's history, it is a great opportunity. Those seeking a polished experience might find the game dated, though in a way, that is simply part of the preservation experience.
