Like 'Twin Peaks,' 'Trenque Lauquen' takes you into a world almost identical to ours, but with certain oddities and inhabited by extremely unique characters. With a romantic mystery in the first part and a fantastic one in the second, the film demonstrates Laura Citarella's mastery in creating an intricate metanarrative universe where drama, intrigue, the surreal, and even the comic coexist. It's reminiscent in part of 'The Delinquents' and 'The Untamed.'
