Generic dialogue and lack of character depth kills the sometimes promising “Sunrise,” which works best when it has a grit that reminds one of the best vampire flicks of all time, “Near Dark,” but that doesn't happen nearly enough.

2024's 'Sunrise' is a low budget film with a unique and bloody spin on the vampire mythos.SYNOPSIS: 'A man, Fallon (Alex Pettyfer) roams the land as a creature of the night as he comes to terms with tragic loss of his family at the hands of a brutal demagogue, Reynolds (Guy Pearce).''Sunrise' has a dark and menacing atmosphere throughout but God it's slow going. If not going in reverse at ****'s the gritty performances from Pearce and Pettyfer that hold the film together, and apart from a interesting look into what a vampire actually is there's not a lot here.Very much a vampire film you can pass by.Bland at best.3/10
