In its philosophical and criminal investigations (largely imported from Kathryn Bigelow's original), the film moves in dozens of illogical directions, but not without achieving a patina of earnest credibility.

Unless you’re a fan of extreme sports photography, the 2015 Point Break lags behind its predecessor in most areas.

Life changing film of course... The point of enlightenment is leaving all behind. Ozaki 8 or whatever it is it means leaving all behind. In this film the reference to enlightenment is taken from Buddhism and the words "Bodhi" and "Samsara" are also references to Buddhism. "Bodhi" means the enlightenment of wisdom and "Samsara" is what Buddhists call as the wandering cycle of life. Birth, Life and Death and again and again since the person attain "Nibbana" aka Enlightenment. Here it all depicts wrong but somewhat correct since if you want to Be Enlightened you need to leave all behind and go against the system but not being a criminal but being a noble. However, in the end we all must give more than we take...

It is a great movie. I liked the movie overall, but you will be somewhat disapointed if you were expecting lots of explotions and bullets in the xtreme stunts.

Core’s incarnation of Point Break is about one thing, extreme sports, and it is no small relief that the film at least handles those sequences well.

The idea of remaking "Point Break" was not necessarily a bad idea, I suppose, but whatever charms that film might have had, they are utterly lost on the people behind this embarrassment.

The new Point Break drops the original’s Zen-like balance of macho mysticism and camp in favor of dour humorlessness.

This Point Break doesn’t ever connect with anything, even its own desire to celebrate the extreme.

The original was indeed ludicrous, but it exuded warmth, vitality, and belief in itself. The 2.0 update splashes up on shore DOA.

This is an awesome movie!! (For all anyone knows, this movie could be absolutely outstanding, it just hasn't had a huge Disney marketing blitz and therefore is not 'good' in the eyes of (un)professional critics). Professional movie criticism is dead after the debacle that is Star Wars: The Force Awakens. What is it about this movie that professional studio shills and spruikers don't like? It's not an unadvertised shoddy remake of a movie made decades ago? Professional Film Critics are laughable joke, totally lacking in integrity.

The movie isn't bad, the scenery is good, but the plot about adrenaline-addicted criminals is lacking, and I don't really trust the actors; they all seem like adults, but they act like children.

I went into watching this expecting the worst, but it wasn't bad. (In comparison, I gave the Bigelow original a 9/10). To its advantage was an intriguing update of the original W. Peter Iliff screenplay to incorporate a) more extreme sports; and b) more aspects indicative of the present generation, great cinematography and both Delroy Lindo and Ray Winstone--who are both 'cash money' in terms of great supporting actors. Disadvantages include awful soundtrack choices, a highly-unbelievable and lazily-written, underdeveloped script, the actors selected aren't nearly in the class of Patrick Swayze, Keanu Reeves, Gary Busey and Lori **** the director's no Kathryn Bigelow. Good for a watch, out of curiosity, especially if you liked the original and are a fan of extreme sports. Otherwise, it's probably not worth your time.

Point Break is entertaining and uses the best things it can offer, especially their stunts which is significantly the best of the film, but what is the point in seeing a regular remake of a movie that is already quite good?
