Me Time

Me Time has some structural problems that drag the story, taking too long to reintroduce Huck in the second act, and littering the overall canvas with too many side players throughout. But it comes with enough rewards nonetheless thanks to an idiosyncratic group of lovable people who just need to get a little crazy in order to survive as their true selves.

It’s not just that more timely humor would do better; it’s that most comedy fans would probably rather be watching MacGruber again. Instead of sitting down for Me Time, do that, and hope that Hart and Wahlberg figure out a proper story next time that gives their chemistry somewhere to go.

Writer-director John Hamburg (writer of “Meet the Parents,” director of “Along Came Polly” and “I Love You, Man”) has the ability to wring big laughs out of absurdist situations, but in Me Time, nearly everybody delivers their lines in the forced manner of 1980s sitcoms, the situations bear little resemblance to anything that would occur in the real world.

There is a flatness that feels apparent in every shot — and not just because the movie is filmed in bright, low contrast lighting. The film’s experienced cast punches their lines in search of jokes that never materialize, leaving the comedy to nosedive.

Credit to Hart, though, for trying to make every scene, comic or sentimental, as strong as he can. He reads each line that’s supposed to be funny as if it is, locates Sonny’s emotional truth no matter how ridiculous the scene is, and never lets his signature energy sag.

Me Time is less of a movie than it is a bulletin board filled with half-thought-out premises for dirty jokes.

Despite the star presence of Kevin Hart and Mark Wahlberg, this laugh-starved, buddy comedy is crushingly dim-witted and disposable.

I do not think it was that bad, it has some funny moments. Main problem with it that Kevin Hart as made many similar movies in last years and this feels like making same formula again and again. If you do not look at that part, then it is a 6 for me, otherwise would rate lower.

Turn your brain off, get the eternal child in you to enjoy the crude humor of the movie and you might enjoy it. I surely laughed more than once.

Overall, an alright film. It has its moments, but some fall short. It's something we've all seen before.

I can not even begin to describe my emotions for this movie. Why I even watched this is beyond me. Netflix you have made me angry and now I have lost 1h 44m of my life. If anyone, anyone at all wants to watch this film, don't even bother. It is apparent in the first few minutes of this film and through out its lapse. Of how **** it is. Sure it made me laugh like 2 times but it started to drain me of my soul at about the half way mark. I forced myself to watch this becuase I was hoping that it might redeem itself. I WAS WRONG. This is a low quality Netflix film which I hope I'll forget.
