New York Daily News
Director Matt Reeves (who also made the much rawer "Cloverfield") so deeply understands the nature of childhood terror that Let Me In burns with a white-hot clarity.

It's a heartbreaker of a coming-of-age tale, even if there's a string of exsanguinated corpses to be accounted for.

The rhythmic awakening of a snowy obsession: A 5.0-star "sensational" surge of bloody innocence.2010 (5.0)I watched "Let Me In" in the theater in 2010, and it remains a visceral "revelation" that solidified its position as a 5.0-star pillar in my archive. At the time, I was 100% captivated by Chloë Grace Moretz—likely a lingering "vivid" side effect from her high-tension energy in "Kick-Ass"—and I remember the rhythmic thumping of my heart as I entered the theater with an almost "pathetic" level of excitement. This experience **** the fourth wall of typical horror remakes by infusing the "raw" and snowy atmosphere with a "chewy" emotional depth that felt both sophisticated and rebellious. Seeing Chloë’s "vivid" transformation into a timeless predator provided a "sensational" emotional payoff that left me in a state of absolute "hororong." The "vivid" buff of my admiration for the actress undeniably intensified the rating, but the film’s "raw" vulnerability and high-tension loneliness were 100% genuine. The 95% preservation of my memory is dominated by the "raw" contrast of red blood on white snow and the rhythmic connection between two outcasts, creating a permanent, "sensational" scar of dark romance on my soul. Unlike the "stagnant" disappointments of my record, this movie possessed a "vivid" and haunting soul that reflected my "pure" and intense cinematic passion of 2010. It stands as a powerful 5.0-star testament to the "raw" power of atmospheric storytelling and the "sensational" impact of a perfectly cast lead—a high-tension encounter that remains one of the most "vividly" cherished memories of my theatrical history.

Wow! An incredible movie. It's a horror movie, but oh it's also so much more than that. A truly beautiful film, that delves into a sweet and tender relationship between two young preteens. One where the young lady helps the young man grow, and the young man accepts the young lady unconditionally. It's a movie that is sure to touch your heart. It is certainly the best horror movie I have seen in a couple years, and it's take on the genre is deliciously unique and entertaining. The musical score was ripe and poignant, and the interactions between Owen and Abby were smile-inducing. I could go on and on, but in the end, what makes this movie so good is that, in the most unlikeliest of places and of ways, it makes you feel good. And in a sense, isn't that what love is all about?

Reeves has Americanized a very good foreign film without defanging it.

Let Me In is not as fantastic as "Let the Right One In," which you should rent immediately. But it is undeniably powerful and made with obvious admiration and respect for the source material.

Less satisfying are the moments when the film concedes to American horror conventions, especially the scuttling vampire effects, which pull us out of the haunted world of these lovely damaged creatures into a place that, while not of this world, feels entirely too familiar.

The original was a very good thriller. The new one is simply a good one.

There's a human tragedy somewhere here-but aggrandized puppy-love romance and stylish revenge fantasy is all that lingers.

Let me in promised a lot but delivered **** acting was actually pretty good and the action scenes were well made but the movie was quiet boring and disappointing.

Damn you CGI! Could have done without it. This movie is entertaining, but not nearly as good as the original. It's borderline mediocre, but thanks to a great cast especially Richard Jenkins' haunting performance, it avoids being avoidable.

Having watched the Swedish original, I was hoping the US version would be less soporific. Unfortunately it's almost exactly the same movie and like the original, still suffers from glacial pacing and an overwhelmingly drab and dreary aesthetic. It was like watching a feature length, horror version of the opening credits to Coronation Street.

The whole idea of remaking a critically-acclaimed and faithfully adaptation of John Ajvide Lindqvist's vampire love story. This tries too hard to include everthing in the book. Fans of the source material loved the original for sticking close to the main plot and leaving in one sub-plot. Actors kodi Smith-McPhee and Chloe Moretz are good actors, the directing and other actors prove that you can't use every single detail from a complex novel. As you may have guessed I'm not excited for the remake of Stieg Larsson's Millenium trilogy.
