Part of Me works hard to prove it's more than a glorified infomercial, and one reason it is more is that Perry has a startling story to tell.

Perry manages to pull it off here, coming off completely likable and real, never insufferable and fake.

It’s 2025… 13 years have passed since Katy Perry: Part of Me first hit theaters, and yet, watching it today still feels just as raw, powerful, and inspiring as it did back then. The film is a rare, intimate window into the life of a pop superstar at the peak of her Teenage Dream era and it holds up beautifully.

It presents Perry as a likable, hard-working artist, someone you root for, even if she's not on your iPod.

When you see and hear so many fans of so many backgrounds expounding on what "Firework" means to them, you realize that while a song may or may not be for you, it most certainly is for others.

Despite being as garish and manufactured as Perry's multi-coloured hair-don'ts, Part Of Me deserves kudos for allowing an element of unpredictability to intrude upon its tween exploitation and sugary vulgarity.

Fans will relish the chance to see Katy's rainbow-tastic live shows magically enhanced by 3D technology. Those indifferent to her will leave as perplexed about Perry's superstardom as they were before.

Part of Me strains so hard to make Perry seem at once triumphant but totally relatable that it veers toward a self-seriousness you won't find in her music, image or Hershey's Kiss bra.

A forma como o documentário mostra ela, sento um ser vulnerável e a acessível, fez que multidões se apaixona-se por essa artista incrível, camp e com alma de brasileira se torna-se uma das maiores estrelas pop.

What Katy Perry has accomplished is a concert inside of a documentary which actually strikes emotion. It's stands above her music and makes you feel good.

There is not enough music and way too much drama, but Part of Me delivers a compelling story about fame, ****, happiness, the joy of bringing joy to others. Real-life Katy Perry is every bit as cheesy as you would expect, and then some. The concert footage is stunning and basically is what makes the movie enjoyable, unless you are interested in Perry's short-lived marriage.

Unless you're a fan of bubblegum kiddie pop and senseless cupcake and candy dresses you will not like the huge pandering of a movie. It is supposed to be a documentary but we get nothing as to how she rose to fame and nothing on her creative process which only leads you to believe that this pop star is nothing more than a music producer's puppet.

Katy Perry: Part of Me 3D is boring and uninteresting, the 3D is mediocre and unnecessary, and the documentary/storytelling is poor/weak, it is the most unenjoyable movie to watch this summer.
