Glitter is the week's only major Hollywood release, and it offers considerable escapist entertainment while hitting an affirmative note.

This is the worst performance by a pop star in a dramatic role since Madonna suited up for "Shanghai Surprise."

It touches on universal themes of love, friendship, and family. Suffice to say it falls dreadfully short.

It doesn't help that Glitter is such a derivative mishmash of cinematic and real-life situations that it's nearly impossible to count all the ways.

Just when you think it could not get more ridiculous, Hall, Lanier, and Miss Mariah go that extra mile.

Mostly dross, an unintentionally hilarious compendium of time-tested cinematic clichés that illustrates the chasm between hopeful imitation and successful duplication.

Amo esse filme e o CD, temos que considerar que foi o primeiro filme dela como protagonista, ela se dedicou muito e com certeza deu o seu melhor, acho muito bom!!

Before I saw this movie I thought that people were exaggerating but after seeing it, it truly is a bad movie. Very boring. I stopped watching after like 15 minutes. It wasn't Mariah Carey that made the film bad, but the whole movie in general. The plot, directing, and acting. The only good part of this movie is Mariah Carey and her vocals. Good soundtrack, bad, extremely boring movie.

Как!? Как можно сделать НАСТОЛЬКО скучно и ни капли неинтересно. Одна сцена сменяется другой, но настроение не меняется, продолжается держаться атмосфера ужасной скуки. Думаю, что для девочек будет интереснее, но точно не уверен. Лучше не тратьте время.

What an unpleasant situation. Who thought this would actually work? Mariah sings but is not able to act. And most of this cast doesn't either.

This is the rare type of movie that I couldn't stand watching all the way through. It essentially follows Mariah Carey around in a series of loosely related events. She's one of the most wooden actresses I have ever seen. Due to the confusing direction, I thought this was a biopic at first, but it's actually a vanity piece set in the 80's. The scenes transition with - you guessed it - glitter. Go figure. This movie was released in 2001, and Mariah Carey blamed September 11th for its failure. The real reason is that it's painfully bad.
