For all the well-traveled roads in Girl Most Likely, Berman and Pulcini bring a sweetness to the material that suits Wiig’s offbeat talents. We know we’re being played, but really, if we’re enjoying it, why complain?

" Over ratted , but funny ". So far its over ratted to see kristen wiig trying to kill herself in a comedy movie and plain out dumb and sad in the beginning . she is funny in this movie it's kinda movie to have fun while watching and its funny , its dramatic its not stupid its just plain old out FUN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. So for cast is good ( but who is to say no one is perfect in any movie). What is to the say if this movie deserves an A it's perfect. An if someone is saying that Wiig's performance is better then ' Bridesmaids' ( nothing is better then Bridesmaid its the queen of ****'s to say if it's better or worse). Grade : PERFECT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't understand why this movie received such mixed reviews. I thought it was very entertaining, and the performances are all excellent. Maybe some folks don't get Kristen Wiig's type of humor, but I think she is very funny. She does a lot with just a look. Annette Being is particularly good in this movie. If you like Kristen Wiig, give it a shot.

Whatever their other gifts, they cannot find the fizz here and can never get Wiig to commit to the sort of film that she, even when she was making it, must have realized was beneath her in her post-”Bridesmaids” glory.

Can’t decide if it’s a broad farce or a poignant portrait. Small wonder then, that it falls short on both counts, failing to earn either Bridesmaids-sized laughs or nods of recognition.

The insurmountable problem is that Imogene is not a very original, dynamic or charismatic character, and Kristen Wiig is not a very original, dynamic or charismatic actress. Nobody in this movie is really appealing enough to be much fun. The state of New Jersey should sue.

Wiig’s new comedy sulks limply along with her, unable to bring the kind of energy that might complement her tendency to underplay every scene.

Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini's dismal, D-grade sitcom isn't fit to lick the boots of Whit Stillman's four films.

Not sure why all the hate for this movie, it's funny & cute. I liked it from start to finish & definitely has a lot of interesting side plots & stories going on throughout. Quirky is a good way to describe the main character, but the whole cast is a little out there, gives it all the more charm.

You might have high expectations for this film, since Kristen Wiig is the star. But if you think of her as just another actor, you'll end up being pleasantly entertained. She underplays her usual oddball as a New Yorker struggling with her career, boyfriend and life in general. After an unfortunate incident she ends up back at home in NJ with her mother (Annette Bening is a delightful turn). The film tries too hard to be one of those quirky character charmers, but it sometimes succeeds, although predictably. It's not hilarious, but sweetly amusing.

"Girl Most Likely" 10 Scale Rating: 6.0 (Decent) ... The Good: Just quirky enough to be entertaining. Kristen Wiig is hit and miss for me, but she was very good in this ... once you get past the first 15 minutes or so. A solid story that was far more entertaining than expected for the first three quarters of the film. The Bad: It falls apart in the end. I thought the film was pretty good right up until then but the final act is just too silly for words and doesn't fit in with the rest of the film. She rebounds nicely, but Wiig is downright unlikeable early on.

Not nearly on the same level as Kristen Wiig's previous two successes with Bridesmaids and Friends with Kids; nevertheless, it has its moments--some of them quite special.
