This movie made me feel pathetic for Tom Cruise. Brilliant writing and screenplay. Emily Blunt as Rita Vrataski is by far one of the most badass characters I have seen. The story is amazing, the plot keeps you engaged and however pathetic Lt. Cage is, you can't help but root for him once he starts changing a new leaf (the dependable character of Rita Vrataski is there to keep your faith). I loved the character development for Lt. Cage, but it was honestly special forces warrior Rita Vrataski that made me fall in love with the movie. Would recommend :)

Wasted potential. Marvel could have done wonders with the character, and they somehow did such a bad job writing the script they made even the actor look bad. My main issues with the movie are how they fail to develop the character and end up giving her an annoying and single-dimensional personality. It's a superhero movie, but there is no hero's journey. Carol Danvers's character is that of a narcissistic **** who thinks she is above everyone else, better, and fails to show a shred of emotion. From the moment the character is introduced, rather than making a connection with the audience, she just annoys them. She constantly talks down to everyone, her biggest vulnerability is 'showing emotion'. Is that an ironic joke? What emotion? I have no clue about the actor, but seeing as how she is a professional, she must know what she is doing. But the writing makes it seem almost like she is incapable of acting as a likable person. The entire movie felt like when you are playing pretend superheroes as children and the annoying kid keeps on shooting down your attacks without effort. She is just superman without kryptonite. Watching the movie was just an eye-rolling experience. She is smug, condescending, and annoying. Didn't enjoy a second of this movie, nor felt a connection to the character.

I loved this movie! Everything that came from Marvel in this phase apart from this movie has been hot garbage. I don't know if comparing it to anything before it will do justice to it. The music was amazing, and the cinematography was amazing. The story was great and the characters for once felt like characters. The jokes often fall flat, but well we can look over that. Action is enough to keep you wanting for more and all characters are worth rooting for. Sadly marvel's movies don't feel like movies anymore, but this movie is something I can go back to. All major characters have their own things going on. There is development, conversations about their ideas, and their own battles to fight and win. Compare this to any of older MCU movies, well I'd give it a 7/10. I still love the cinematography and music, the story falls kind of flat when they stick to their known marvel formula. It's redundant but at the same time new. Within Phase 4, this is the ONLY movie I'd suggest watching. (Spider man was only good because of the nostalgia trap)

I can't believe I have wasted so much time in this phase of the MCU. If I were to summarize the movie, it makes the beloved character of thor, a god from Norse mythology, one of the most beloved characters, look a total dunce. It's almost like the writers want to emphasize how thor is an ****, selfish and jealous man while Jane Foster, a WOMAN, is superior, selfless, strong, and dutiful. They were able to make Thor, THE GOD OF LIGHTNING look pathetic. This is such a scummy way to keep your other characters on a pedestal. Jane Foster's character could have been so much better if only it wasn't built upon the fall of Thor's character. MCU keeps on alienating me, as a viewer watching it from my early childhood. I am all for strong female characters, but that's the key. 'Characters', not just 'I look more competent because men are incompetent. Even as a diehard fan, I no longer feel the urge to watch the movies because all I see are my heroes turning into clowns.
