TumbleSeed has its moments with its detailed visuals, mesmerising sound design and well-built levels. It's a great indie title, but there is just one problem, this game is over before you know it. There are only 4 linear worlds, and in each there are 3 challenges to complete, but overall, once you've done everything, you simply feel unsatisfied. The game tries to trick you into thinking there is more content by sporting a daily and weekly challenge on the main menu, but none of these matter, especially since your score will be forgotten to time. If you find TumbleSeed on sale it is worth it, but not at the standard price.

Really charming and unique game. The game is very hard (many people say it's unfairly hard). The controls are also hard to learn. The game is simple when it comes to the gameplay. However, it gets deeper and more interesting the more you play it. The more time I spend on this game, the more I like it and the more I want to play it; and I think that defines a good roguelike.

Very difficult game, would definitely not recommend to everyone unless you like a good challenge. The controls are very different and unique, but it can also make it frustrating until you get used to them. Personally, I'm 50 hours in and still play daily. There's a lot of deep strategy and even quite a few secrets! The devs are also very responsive to any problems we're having (in the TumbleSeed discord) and overall there's a great community!

Horrible ! The worst Roguelike i ever played! The game is clearly unfair and frustrating. The special seeds are terrible to use not fun like the auras. Don't buy this game!

Frustrating, janky controls (not even analog even though they use the analog sticks), unfair enemies, hidden bombs under the holes, cringeworthy NPC dialogue, crap weapons. Crap game. Save your money.

Definitely a great game that for what it is managed to stay engaging to the player. If you're a fan of rogueikes, this game's for you. Just don't get frustrated. You'll die ;)

This is one of the most terrible game in the history of game-design. This is like game for iphone called flappy bird. The gameplay is so terrible, when you are trying to manage the character, you would like to 1) brake game-system, and put it in the garbage 2) calling game-designer **** because the gamedesign is sooo terrible: it is no possible to go further, you stuck and play agains gravity in the most terrible way. This is the first time ever when I have the feelings that I would like my money back, and I want to sue the game-desingers. Terrible, cruel for the player. Don't bye it for the kids, becouse kid will brake the game-sysltem. Once again, this is like flappy bird.

If you're a vip of the challenge club, if you finished Binding of Isaac on your first run, if you've beaten and unlocked all the characters in Has Been Heroes without failing a single run, if you've done every single Spelunky daily challenge without fail, if you didn't know you respawn as another character in Rogue Legacy before beating the game for the first time, if you finished Nuclear Throne just with the pistol, if you died by glutony in Don't Starve, if you went slower than light in Faster Than Light and still managed to destroy the Rebel Flagship, if you set a kindergarten at the end of Darkest Dungeon, if you finished Devil Daggers playing with a gamepad, if you thought Dark Souls was too easy so you played it blindfolded (and still found it averagely challenging).... then TumbleSeed is your game.

Although I have absolutely no connection to the developers, I had to create a metacritic account to review this game. I love rogue-likes and this is one of the most interesting additions to the scene in a long time. I've played for a few hours already and it's easily one of my favorite games I have for the switch (I even have the big ones like Zelda and Mariokart). At first it might be frustratingly difficult, but as you get a feeling for the controls and the weight of the physics, you will fall deeper in love with it. Additionally the HD rumble is fantastic and highlights what the switch is really capable of. Beyond all that, the visuals and music are also stunning.

Its tough and can be frustrating but the unique atmosphere and music will keep you glued to its wonderful world. Its like if Radiohead made a game this would be it .

TumbleSeed is one of those indie games that comes out and really makes you think about what can be done with games today. TumbleSeed is a procedurally- generated, rogue-like, balancing game, in which the basic premise is to transport your seed through various obstacles to the top of a mountain in order to save the people. This game is special. I haven't felt like this playing an indie title in quite some time, and in the world of rogue-likes I put this one up there with Rogue Legacy. The game is brutally difficult, however, so anyone just looking for a casual, pick-up-and-play experience should probably avoid this game (unless you like playing through the intro sequence over and over again). I would also say that anyone who likes faster paced games exclusively should probably pass on this one as the game requires a ton of patience and understanding of the mechanics to be successful. On the flip side, anyone who loves indie games, and keeps up with the best ones out there must play this game. It is one of the good ones that can't be slept on. I would even say this is a great entry point into the indie world if you usually stick to AAA games, especially if you are into games that FromSoftware makes, or the various other Souls clones. I haven't been this frustrated with a game since Dark Souls, and I loved every second of it.
