This game is a strong anti-war statement.

Torn Away mixes beautiful hand-drawn aesthetics with the grim story of a little girl trying to survive a war and make it home. The game excels at establishing tone and getting the player to feel a sense of connection to the main character, Asya, through heartfelt character interactions and mini-games. While the brutal story beats hit hard at the beginning of the game, they lose some of their steam towards the end when you begin to expect them.

Torn Away is the harrowing story of a child’s journey home from a labor camp during World War II, and every aspect of the game combines to present a bold and affecting narrative.

I totally came across this game by accident. I was looking for a game to play for the weekend, and I am so glad I did find Torn Away; even though it made me cry like a baby. The visuals, the story telling, the characters... Every second of this game made me feel like it was made with love and the awareness of the story that the developers were trying to tell.

This indie game may seem simple at first, but it actually has a deep meaning that becomes apparent as you play. However, it is important to note that the game is not suitable for children. I highly recommend it for adults!

The atmosphere, music and game design are of a high standard, and I particularly appreciated the 2D to 3D transition. The tale of a young girl searching for a way home moved me to tears. This game touched me deeply. I don't usually enjoy thrillers in games or movies and often give up halfway, but this one compelled me to continue. I would like to see more games like this one. Thank you to the developers for creating such a great game, I am confident that all the awards they have received are well-deserved.

Torn Away is a really impactful experience that is definitely worth playing. It’s not the most interesting gameplay, but the story alone makes it an amazing game that is definitely worth buying.

Torn Away is a narrative-focused game that explores some very difficult historical moments through the eyes of a child. Asya is a strong protagonist and the game works hard to give her interesting things to do from a gameplay perspective. Neither the platforming nor the puzzles sequences are hard to complete and most of the mechanics are familiar. Players need to be sure that they are ready to deal with some troubling and difficult moments before they engage with the game. After playing, it might be time to donate to a charity that helps children in danger. Torn Away is a good example of how video games can engage with complex themes and bring a level of engagement that other mediums cannot deliver.

While the gameplay isn’t going to leave much of an impact, the twists and turns of Asya’s dramatic journey through war-torn Europe is surprisingly well told, and is further heightened by its unique aesthetic and satisfying soundtrack.

A very interesting narrative adventure in an interesting style about WW2. It makes you feel. It's definitely like a rollercoaster ride, going from short glimmers of hope to the lowest point. I recommend spending some time with the game.

There is hard to see and very emotional story about little girl, which gone through the War, parted with relatives, kidnapped and now – returning to Homeland. It’s simple story with humanistic values accentuate child’s experiences and her sense of War. There is World falling down around Asya, filling by crocked, bitter people in this story. It’s told us how little girl passes through big Tragedy and what remains in her ****’s not interactive move, but narrative game which contains various gameplay mechanics and mini games. There are accents on story and visual. Puzzles and challenges not so hard to solve, but good to support impression and emotions changes during timeline. Platforming sections frustrated sometimes. Some moments of story make me cry, other ones – return me to my childhood where skies are blue and grass is green. Game causes a lot of emotions, resonate with deep and forgotten parts of soul from childhood. It’s reminds us one simple but important thing: no one deserve to go through the War. You do deserve to play.
