Thief of Thieves for the Nintendo Switch is the closest thing to a comic book adventure in a playable format, with the additional advantage of the console's handheld convenience. Its loading times may feel too burdensome but other than that, Thief of Thieves gets a lot of things right and the game's immersive environment and soundtrack, as well as the fun and engaging missions will make this a fun and involving experience for everyone.

Thief of Thieves is an interesting but unpolished stealth game that offers a great cast of characters but has little else going for it. The voice acting and writing had me invested in these characters and I enjoyed my journey with them; I just wish it had less of the stealth gameplay which isn’t exactly great since this is a stealth game. In the end, it just really made me want to play Dishonored again.

With its interesting story and a variety of unique ideas Thief of Thieves: Season One is bound to entertain. Just don’t expect it to make a lasting impact on you, because it won’t.

Unfortunately, this Nintendo Switch port created some flaws that make total enjoyment difficult. The biggest being the blurry graphics, especially when docked and played on a monitor.

Thief of Thieves: Season One offers a good crime thriller with superb writing, but is bogged down by janky AI and a serious lack of polish in its gameplay sections. For those fans of the comic or those looking for just the story aspects you might have something worth looking at here, but stealth fans should look elsewhere.

Thief of Thieves feels like a demo for a bigger game that has yet to be made. There are some good ideas buried beneath its limited gameplay, but they have yet to be realized in the game that is available now. It's possible that a second season could expand upon the concepts within Thief of Thieves, but the poor quality of the Nintendo Switch port of the game makes it hard to hope for the future of the series. We can only hope that the rumored Thief of Thieves TV show fares better when it finally leaves development hell.

Thief of Thieves may get some things right, but this stealth adventure comes with a host of issues of varying severity. The most notable of these is a completion-preventing bug, so we’d suggest steering clear unless a patch is released.

Thief of Thieves would be a boring game in the best of conditions, but the Switch version only serves to make a bad game worse. It’s incredibly short, clocking in at less than five hours, but I still found myself struggling to care to keep going long before I reached the end. From the bland, underdeveloped gameplay to the buggy port, Thief of Thieves spent so much time focusing on the comic book’s style that it didn’t bother including any actual substance.

Thief of Thieves is an awful video game. It's tedious and clunky, has broken AI, awful dialogue, miserable characters and a boring story that has absolutely nothing of interest to say or add to the heist genre. Its cel-shaded, comic-book style graphics are a strong point, but they're compromised here by a weak Switch port that's too blurry in handheld mode and horribly pixelated when you dock it to play on a big screen. There are also a handful of unforgivable technical issues; noticeable framerate problems, a bug that crashes you back to your console's homescreen and overly long loading times that break up the gameplay far too often. In short, this is a crime-heist caper that's out to rob you of your time and money and is, in every conceivable way, much more of a snore than a score. Avoid.

Thief of Thieves has a gratingly sassy heroine, and a completely forgettable storyline. The stealth gameplay is like in those forced, half-baked stealth sessions in other games, as the mechanics as clunky... and then some. Finally, this port is actually the weakest version of it, as it's technically broken, with loading times that can put you to tears. Don't wait for Season Two.
