Witcher 2 is a throwback in a lot of ways to old PC games, which certainly appeals to me. The delivery method is modern, no doubt, but the fact there's a lot of poking and prodding (and death) that happens even early on has me anxious for another instalment.

The high bar of visuals is followed by a good score, and descent acting, some of the spell and combat audio has a edge to it that sounds lower quality then the rest of the audio landscape.

The Xbox 360 port is an impressive technical accomplishment that brings a classic PC RPG experience to a new audience. The transition is not flawless, but those who stick with it will be rewarded with an intriguing and entertaining experience.

I wanted to finish this game but I couldn't. If you want to play it definitely get it on PC. On xbox one it runs on 30 fps. Normally that ain't that bad but combined with the not so great graphics it's awful. Not to mention the looooooong loading times and there are LOTS of them in this game. You want to enter or exit a building? Just watch 2-3 seconds of black screen! You want to switch between map/quests/inventory/skill? Just watch 0.5 seconds of black screen! Aside this the combat is very clunky. Idk if it is a skill issue or the game is just not balanced good. I have beaten the 3rd game and I didn't have a problem in it with the combat. Even on easy mode I die multiple times, cause enemies can easily swarm you and you can only try to dodge, but they will eventually get you. The spells can help, but I would prefer if I didn't have to use them that much. Enemies can hit you sometimes even if you are attacking them which is stupid. In the beginning the story is easy to follow, but in chapter 2 it gets so confusing, you have to remember 15 people and what they did and I feel very overwhelmed. On some side quests you don't even get a waypoint so you have to look up where to go (I guess this is more realistic but worse for the gameplay) Also Dandelion is super annoying and cringe. This guy only want to sleep with women but at the same time is super zesty. In the books and the Witcher 3 he is a more complex character and actually likeable. In conclusion if you want to try the game get it on PC. If you just care about the story you can just watch a youtube video about it :)

Beginning of a legend. The game is very solid and offers a lot of choices that shape your entire gameplay. A choice in 1st act completely(location,NPC, etc) changes how the next 3 acts look like

The Witcher 2 is a highly recommended purchase for those seeking a mature and visceral role-playing experience.

Its weighty combat, difficult choices with real consequences, and fascinating storylines are some of the best gaming has ever seen. I can no longer lord it over the console masses with this one, though, because this long-in-development Xbox 360 port is just as amazing as the original. It's actually better than it was at launch... It doesn't deliver the amazing level of graphics we've seen in the enhanced PC version, but the Xbox 360 edition of Witcher 2 is, by all means, one of the best western RPGs ever created.

The mature theme, gameplay and compelling plot pull us through a story that creates a legend that you would be a fool to miss out on.

While not as graphically magnificent as the PC version, this game is still every ounce the amazing RPG it was on its mother platform. Get it. Now.

Despite all the additions and enhancements, The Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition is an unsatisfying game that won't appeal to series newcomers and never lives up to its own ambitions.

I played The Witcher 3 before this one and I gotta say this game is also really good. While it might not be at the same level as TW3 it is still very enjoyable. Combat is harder here and game is not exactly open world like TW3. It has an interesting story and pretty good graphics and of course Geralt.

Completed in 2025 for the first time. Nice visuals, fine story, but I'd have appreciated more freedom. Still a worthy entry in the series.

The Witcher 2 is better than the first game and for me, the story is straight to the point than the 3th game of the series, i didn't finished yet because the Xbox 360 version is very buggy. In chapter 2 after picking up a king's blood in the mission "Where is Triss Merigold?" i was supposed to receive the rose of rememberance but i didn't received and now i have to play the whole game till this point and wish it do not bug

The Game has a bad unfinished combat system the storyline feels like a side quests of other rpgs (its there but its not interesting). It feels like your story always gets interupted by boring events that you cant care less, like that women being a dragon uhhh ahh .... who cares. The characters are boring and the world feels like the fantasy world of a five year old that wants EVERY fantasy creature squeezed into one world. graphic are ok though. When i finaly thought "now this is getting interesting it finaly starts to kick in now" that were the last few cut scenes. I was left confused why so many people care for this game and thought it was decent.

Thank god this was a freebie with xbox gold, and its obvious why... Go here, button mash this, pause, drink potion, die, repeat, sit through another cut scene. This game lurches around like a blind drunk game of tennis. And where is this open world to explore?... you can't go more than a few steps off the pre-determined path. And since when does any decent 3PRPG not let you customise your character; who the hell wants to play as an ugly old man who keeps taking his shirt off? Still at least its better than that pointless Dragon Age nonsense but it is a very long way from a Skyrim or Oblivion.
SummaryThe Witcher 2 is the sequel to developer CD Projekt's mature-themed fantasy role-playing game based on the works of author Andrzej Sapkowski.
