Genuinely, one of the best games of all time. The music, the level design, the unique take on the Mario formula - this has all the makings of an incredible 3D platformer, with some stunning visuals to boot (especially for the Wii). The boss fights are all unique and fun, there's tons of replayability in the form of comets, and truly the only thing I feel it falls short on is that it could be a bit longer. Super Mario Galaxy holds a special place in my heart.

There is no higher point in Mario platforming than this, and given the height of galactic situations, only something far off the spectrum like Super Mario Micro or Super Mario Universe ad nauseam could possibly topple it in terms of scale and evolution in game design.

If you enjoy playing the best, then you absolutely need to play Super Mario Galaxy. It's our favorite Wii game this year, and a strong contender for the best game of the year.

Super Mario Galaxy is a fun time, with good gameplay and some interesting environments, though its individual galaxies leave a lot to be desired when it comes to exploration. The gameplay is fairly linear, though becomes more fun as the game goes on. I just wish there was more to explore like in previous 3D Mario titles.
