Bought this game during the sale. Really loved the music, provides a kind of funky contrast to the entire feeling of the game. The levels started out very simple but got hard pretty fast. It would be cool if the devs did even more with the entire satire concept though, and integrate it more with the gameplay.

The game has a retrospective but also refreshing soundtrack. I’m picking up the game for the music mainly (I’m bad at puzzle games anyway). The early stages are easy but it gets pretty tough in later stages, which i feel frustrating but might be pleasing to some hardcore puzzle gamers.

Salary Man Escape has some flaws, but it offers plenty of gameplay time for the money, The controls take some adjusting to, but there’s definite satisfaction to be found from mastering it, particularly as you advance up into the later and more complex levels.

A fun VR-puzzler which offers a lot of value for money. The game's theme combined with relatively simple graphics and some overly happy J-Pop songs simply work. The early levels are far too easy and severely underestimate the player. When the difficulty ramps up, the game improves significantly. Tracking doesn't work well for the motion controller option which makes the DualShock 4 the preferred way to play. Which is a shame because it feels less natural.

Salary Man Escape is an interesting idea for a puzzle game, but its execution ends up being more along the lines of the very drudgery that it tries to parody, rather than the escape that video games promise.

Salary Man Escape is a competent puzzler that has a decent amount of fun to offer when things are going your way, but when that enjoyment partly relies on physics outside of your control, it’s easy for frustration to creep in when the going gets tough. Add that to the fact that the game lacks a definitive control method thanks to flaws in both motion and the traditional controller, and you can’t be blamed for looking for an alternative experience.

I tried out Salary Man Escape yesterday. I can say it is a very challenging game and had to go over and over again to accomplish some episodes but I really love the idea and mechanics of the game. So I will definitely keep playing it. Btw coin collecting part is one of my favourites!

Salary Man Escape, like most things, has its ups and downs. No spoilers. The game is full of challenging puzzles and a unique, fun art style and soundtrack. If you enjoy puzzles and like the style, it is definitely worth picking up. The move controller tracking could use some work, so it may be more enjoyable to use the dual shock controller instead. And while everything is more fun immersed in a VR world, it would be nice to also be able to play some "VR games" without VR. In the case of Salary Man, this could easily be done and could potentially expand the market as well as give players the ability to choose when to put the headset on. The VR aspect of this game is really cosmetic only. It is nice to be surrounded by the world while playing but, the actual gameplay would not change with or without VR in my opinion. In conclusion, this is a worthwhile game for VR puzzle fans. A rating is always subjective and losing points is usually unexplained by the reviewer. In this case the 2 lost points are strictly for the move controller tracking.
