"Princess Maker Refine" lacks many of the improvements that the second part brought. Nevertheless, it is perhaps one of the best rearing simulators on the market. Not only that, but the game is incredibly affordable, costing only half the price of its predecessor. If you haven't played the series yet, this might be a good place to start, since you won't be spoiled by all the improvements of the later games in the series.
