Iffy physics, shoddy control, and poor camera direction means that while no compromises were made on the graphics side, the other aspects of the game was not given the same amount of love and care.
Plenty of bugs, graphical glitches, bad physics and an awful control scheme, this game makes its triumphal entry as one of the worst Xbox One games released.
When games from 15 years ago managed to master the basics of the sport better than your brand new game, there's a problem. Not only that, but when a game is free and yet isn't even worth your time to play it, there's a problem.

Excellent game, especially now after it has been updated a couple of times, with new features added, EG. Snooker game mode (I dont think that was in at the release of the game) and its improved greatly, much recommended, got me hooked for hours on end. Worth the £8.99 easily.

I did a couple of other reviews based on the previous patches but this will be my last as I've now jumped to the far superior Pure Pool for Xbox One and Virtual Pool 4 for PC. Why the poor score? 1. The latest patch adds microtransactions 2. Far too many bugs resulting in constant tinkering with the game by Cherry Pop (the last patch making it worse and the framerate more unstable than ever) 3. Too much focus on the online stuff, and not enough on making an actual solid game.

It's a pool game for pool players. Even as someone who's not a big pool guy I had a lot of fun with this game. There's enough solid content to give pool fanatics reasons to keep coming back, and enough systems to make it where newcomers can develop an appreciation as well. While many have stated things about technical issues and long load times I personally did not encounter any of these things. The only thing I found about it that didn't work was the make your own table mode. It's designed so that you can create crazy tricks to perform on ramps, hoops, and whatnot. For whatever reason the controls just didn't respond for me. Not a big loss in my opinion. The game makes up for it with plenty of single and multiplayer content. The career mode can be quite lengthy. Mostly because the further you progress in a countries tournament the more matches you have to win. It can get a bit tedious to have to replay matches when you opponent beats you two out of three, but the core gameplay is solid enough to keep you coming back. For newcomers like myself even the easiest AI difficulty will put up a fight. However a helpful system that shows you where your shot will send the balls. Still, some of the AI victories just feel cheap. As a result it's probably only the dedicated and most determined pool fans who will stick this mode out. As always those looking for human opponents can jump online. It's a good looking and solidly made pool game. Whether or not you'll get hit with the technical issues and long load times others have I can't tell you. All I can say is that I didn't and if you are lucky enough to have it the same way you've got one awesome pool game to play. It's designed for the hardcore and has enough systems in place to help newcomers become it.

PoolNationFX is a big hit in the 'console pool' industry if there is one , it is almost like reality the sounds and the image is just splitting , the only real downside is that is not really any other game modes , definitely worth the money and your lucky if you got it for free with 'games with gold'...

Let's put it this way: it's a pool game that must have been developed by people that apparently never got even close to a real pool table. Yes, it takes forever to load, the controls are not simple (but they are not terrible), menus are not clear. But what's really annoying is the awful physics of the balls, it's like playing golf with a cue. There are also many off-putting things in the mechanics of the game overall, being the lack of a power indicator and being unable to move around the table when it's your turn the worst of them.

Downloaded for being free with Xbox Live Gold, took forever and a day to download due to its huge size. Very nice graphics but game play could be better.

Got this free as a member of xbox live gold and tgank god I did. The game graphically is not bad nor amazing. Initial load time is horrendous then you play and realise just how bad of a pool game this really is. Worst physics, table speeds and controls I have encountered in any pool game. I am not normally this critical but something has to be said when a game is as bad this. Do yourself a favour, jump on your pc or laptop and play Virtual Pool which is still the best pool simulation ever and dont waste your money on shovelware like this.
