The game looks enticing but disappoints. It’s too simple and repetitive. The stuff you do and encounters you have feel meaningless due to lack of impact. When you catch your first couple Pokemon it feels fresh and new. But that feeling quickly fades as there is a lack of relationship with the Pokemon you catch. All Pokemon always share exp, so don’t have to focus on training. Catching isn’t difficult. You are just a slave to the linear story which also disappoints. This is an expensive game from a big rich company, and there isn’t even voice acting. At first this game looks interesting and fun, but play it for a couple hours and it really isn’t.

A reinvention of what mainline Pokemon games could be that was very successful in what it set out to achieve. From the story, characters and Pokemon, this game was what Pokemon needed. Jubilife Village also shows that Game Freak can still make incredible towns/cities, which had been their biggest problem in the previous mainline game (Sword and Shield).
