Hudson has achieved the unthinkable and created an original and entertaining Japanese developed FPS which comes as a great surprise. This is a must-download for fans of the FPS genre.

Onslaught is a real deal, particularly if you are looking for the Online component. It's fun, it's complete, and even if it could be something more, I this is a game capable of filling the measures. Ended the search for those seeking a good FPS.

It proves that it's possible to make a decent FPS title at an affordable price with limited space resources. Sure, first-person shooters have been done before on the Wii and done better, but for $10 Onslaught is hard to resist.

If you want an online first person shooter for Wii, you might be better off saving up for Call Of Duty but this isn't bad for the price.

Onslaught is a peculiar game: even if it looks like a First Person Shooter, the kind of the action and the enemy routines recall the scrolling shooter of the 80’s. Even the “Perfect Score” philosophy and the outstanding difficulty remind of an “old style” game. The price of the download is not that high, and the multiplayer mode sustain a discrete replay value. Perfect for those who love challenging games and for the Wii owners that suffer for shooters lack.

Further proof of the Wii's gift for first person shooters, if only a more experienced developer would try.

Onslaught may be one of the toughest games I’ve ever reviewed for IGN. Here you’ve got a $10 WiiWare game that pushes the download service to its limits, but is a huge mess of different quality standards.

As long as you're not expecting thrills or surprises, Onslaught's by-the-numbers bug blasting serves as a fair placeholder until something bigger and better (The Conduit, perhaps?) comes along. That's not exactly a ringing endorsement, but for shooter-starved WiiWare fans in this case, something may be better than nothing.

After giving it some thought, I actually can see how Onslaught could be someone's game of the year, but only if that someone was very young, and/or has never played a online FPS before.

It's good value if you just want to spend the afternoon mindlessly shooting cannon fodder. Don't expect anything different, though. [May 2009, p.77]
