In every sense what a gaming sequel should be: bigger, better, and bolder than the previous incarnation in every almost respect imaginable. With huge steps forward in terms of design, graphics, and gameplay, this should equally delight and entertain fans of the original, as well as newcomers to the trilogy.

As is the problem with most games built with pre-rendered backgrounds, there are going to be a lot of times where the game camera is going to leave you open for cheap shots as you move from one angle to another.

The graphics have matured to push the bar higher for what a PS2 game should look like and despite flawed localization and some awkward moments in the voice-acting, it delivers the promise of "more, deeper, better."

I liked the first game better. If I compare. Good sides; 1 _) The CGI is very good. 2_) Good characters. 3_) Different scenario course. 4_) Some good boss fights. 5_) Playing with different characters. Bad sides; 1_) Level desing is very linear and has the same levels as in the first game. 2_) The wheel puzzle is not good. My controller is old ps2 controller. And analog sticks are not very good. It should have been designed knowing this. 3_) Puzzle variety is low. 4_) There is a gold mechanic in the game for shopping. But it is very unnecessary and is only used at the beginning of the game. 5_) Gift system is cool but it is not clear who likes which gift. Good game overall. But I expected it to be better than the first game. After Resident Evil 1, there is no effect similar to what Resident Evil 2 brought. I would expect this.

Why does Onimusha 2's opening song slap so hard? Seriously if you haven't heard the beginning of this games song, it is a full energetic ride, and delight. Why do I mention this tho? Well, because I honestly don't remember much of my time with this game. I remember enjoying Onimusha well enough, and 2 gives us more options and areas to explore, heck the whole game swapped over from a zombie horror like game to a hack'n'slash puzzler, but the game just isn't as remember able as I wish it **** game mostly gets rid of it's horror elements for a more horror aesthetic to add onto it's hack and slash that the previous game had going for it. This time around you go fighting various demons and zombies as they are invading ancient japan, and you get cool element attacks and weapons. Like the action in this game is a welcome change, but I do find it rather funny it went from Resident Evil Like to Devil May Cry like not only rather fast, but also nearly following the same history of Devil May Cry. While I don't remember much of this game, the fact that it had a friend system in place and provided extra replay value by switching scenarios around pending on which bud you decided to chum along with.Despite everything, Onimusha 2 was the step in the right direction for the franchise, and certainly something I feel helps make the series unique to them as well. While I do think this game can get very blurry when it comes to other Capcom games, the fact that it still maintains an identity through it's sameness makes me happy to hear anyone played this game.

A fine game, above average. Cool graphics, very interesting atmosphere, nice mechanics, boring story.

Like a new year’s line of automobiles, Onimusha 2 has a sleeker look, more bells and whistles, and improved standard features over its predecessor model, "Warlords."

Quite simply, Onimusha 2 is one of the year’s best offerings on the PS2.

Played this when I was younger, and couldn't stop thinking about the camera panning that the series had always had.

Still one of my favorite games! Remember playing this all the time and completed it way more times then I can remember. It blew my mind how everything was improved, to the combat, weapons, story and shopping system. Still get my PS2 out to play this today!

Early on, Onimusha 2 showed promise and appeared to be the innovative follow-up that it so desperately needed to be. However, as the game went on, and the entertaining gameplay aspects disappeared, my enthusiasm for the game withered. [Sept 2002, p.77]

While a definite step forward in the series, Onimusha 2 doesn't really introduce much that's too remarkably new. [Sept 2002, p.27]
79
Has the same drawbacks as its predecessor, including some frustrating camera angles and a relative short main quest.

This time around there is more character interaction, more action, more techniques, and THANKFULLY the game is much longer.

A real step up in all the good ways from Onimusha: Warlords. This game is much better with the gameplay being the best part of this game, while the story is not as strong it is still good enough.

This is one of my favorites of all time, its one of those games I'm always playing frequently because of nostalgia, because i like the gameplay despite being so basic, because i like the bad voice acting and how frustration how some boss fights can be, this is one of the first PS2 games i played but for one reason or another, I have not beat this game despite playing it at least once a year every year. The game runs absolutely perfectly on the PS2, there is seldom any hiccupping in the framerate, its very enjoyable in that regard, the combat despite being basic it is very enjoyable and its nice to upgrade your weapons and equipment. I do not like the social interaction and friendship mechanic the game has, that can make easy or harder boss fights where NPCs you meet along the way can come and help you out. Im sure ill beat it someday but i have fun whenever i have one of those weekends where i just want to play it from the beginning and see where i can take it in one sitting.

I don't have so much to say about this game because it plays just like the original just a bit less character all around , What do I mean well the main character Jubilee is Wooden boring but Luckily for him the characters that is beside him has some character but he still legs a bit too much , I think the gift-giving and the way that they tried to to make multiple story branges is just kind of a mess and I hate using it , I would say I had a good time with the game but Experiments on gameplay Day Made in this game just not for me
