A rather interesting game with a pretty good ideology behind it and a reasonable amount of gameplay within it. At times the game can be frustrating with some overly difficult battles but over all, it is a rather enjoyable experience and the way the missions are set up, it really is perfect for the casual gamer.

An interesting take on fantasy in modern surroundings. The old Silent Storm engine works great once again, but the game is a bit too streamlined and simple. Good fun for one play-through, nonetheless. [Sept 2006]

If you overlook a few key areas you might find a game that offers something a little different than the standard turn-based strategy game.

What's here is engaging and contains a compelling, in-depth story to complement the gameplay.

It made me interested in tracking down the movie to play, and gave me a good number of hours playing an enjoyable RPG.

Night-Watch is a rather average horror RPG based on a movie you may not have heard of. You could certainly do a lot worse, but unless you’re a fanatic about the film, your money could be better spent elsewhere until this one hits the bargain bin.

Night Watch has plenty of big ideas, but the overall execution is lacking.

If you liked the film and what to know more about the lore, then the game will provide plenty of interesting information. But the longer you play, the more the gameplay itself becomes an uninteresting hurdle to enlightenment.

Night Watch's main element -- combat -- is fun and engaging, especially once the characters reach higher levels and have more options. But to call it an RPG is a bit disingenuous, because you truly have very few options to individualize the characters, and the story continues in a linear fashion.

With lackluster and restrictive gameplay, almost no class diversity, and drab graphics, this is probably a game that should step into the Gloom and stay there for a long while.
